I like the "realness" of your experience, I bet a ton of people have stared at the "End" waiting for the LCD to complete flashing.
It looks like they have released a new firmware a few days ago that increases the timeout of the LCD.

Incase anyone needs to know. The micro-SD for the screen firmware flash has to be 16GB or less and HAS to be formatted to FAT32 at 4096mb block allocation. Otherwise it won't actually download the files to the screen memory and install. For the mainboard flash the block allocation can be default of 4096mb, but has to be 32GB or less and FAT32 format.

Mine only arrived 2 days ago. with FW 1.02. All I have done is tightened nuts and bolts, and calibrated e-steps to get a 19.9x 20.0x20.0 calibration cube and then printed out a Q-code cover which fitted perfectly. So onward and upwards. What slicer program do you run with your printer?
I WASN'T able to get the Craelity slicer to work with my machine, & am using the latest version of Cura. When I print on the CR6SE with a Ender3 profile I get BEAUTIFUL prints. When I try the recently added CR6-SE Cura profile the prints are HORRIBLE on my machine! I'd LOVE to get the added build plate volume this machine is capable of, but keep the beautiful prints I've been getting with the Ender3 profile!

    • @TheOverExtrudedHuman
      @TheOverExtrudedHuman  3 года назад +1

I have been using Cura 4.8 Beta in which they added a CR-6 SE profile as well. I agree that there is some sort of difference between the Ender 3 profile and the CR-6 SE one but I'm not sure what it is. As far as build plate volume, you can just change the build size in the profile without touching other settings...
      In Cura:
Settings > Printer > Manage Printers > Select your profile on the left > Click Machine Settings Button > On the Printer tab you can change the dimensions
      X - 235
      Y - 235
      Z - 250
      Hope that helps!

    Thanks.
First off, Udh the display going off is going to be annoying as hell. There really should be an "option" to either set it as the desired amount or toggle it off completely.
I do get it though. We do some really long prints that can run for days, so a timed shut-off isn't a bad thing? Dunno if these screens are susceptible to burn-in or not?
I've contacted Creality just about the known USB, language, and other issues reported. Got the typical "canned" responses - literally no help.
Had also asked about having to only use a fat 32 8GB card. Again, no answer, but others seem to say yes. For some reason the board and display can't handle a larger card (of course I have a 32 gig that's useless for this.
Also, goo to realize that I believe that the card has to be somewhat sacrificial. Meaning: That you need to reformat it and the only thing on it would be the .bin and dwin folder.
Anyone posting and showing their process is a great help, so thank you again. I'll be doing this once my measly 8G micro card arrives.

@@TheOverExtrudedHuman This was my assumption as well, the screen isn't exactly top-of-the-line.
I'd love this as a setting, though, because I like to check the progress every now and then, but the rest of the time, it's just an annoying lightsource that I can't turn off. I've printed a cover to mitigate that for now (not going to update to this version, since it seems to have a ton of issues and doesn't have any features that the community firmware doesn't, so doesn't make sense to update to this just for the screen saver), but a screen timeout setting would be a nice thing for Creality to add.
