I work at a dry cleaners connected to a laundromat and I’ve had some creeps and I’ve had to call the cops a few times due to weird and flat out scary things happening

The story I'm about to tell you is a recent incident that occurred in 2020. My friend, whom I'll call Mega, and I moved to a new city in Brazil to attend college. The town wasn't safe, with frequent cases of armed robbery. One night, after having dinner, we decided to explore the city. As it started raining, we took shelter in a rundown laundromat. Inside, we noticed a noisy washing machine and two strange individuals watching us. One of them approached us with ill intentions, but Mega sprayed paint in his eyes, and I stabbed the other guy with a stiletto. We managed to escape and reported the incident to the police. Later, we discovered that the laundromat was condemned, and the guys we encountered were part of a dangerous drug gang. Thankfully, we stayed safe, but we learned never to let our guard down in unfamiliar places.

Probably a translation error. In Portuguese it is normal to use the word "corpo" for "corpse" in English. But in Portuguese, "corpo" can just refer to body. So a complement is needed to give the meaning of "corpse" or "cadaver".
