      Even a commercial jet can travel faster than sound (750 MPH), if
      its traveling eastward within a predominant, high-altitude wind stream.
      At that altitude and wind-stream speed, the aircraft doesn't break the sound
      barrier. It simply glides along like a sailboat with a tailwind. For example:
      Traveling from the US to China, usually takes about 28 hours. But flying
      from China, eastward to the US only takes from 15 to 19 hours.

    I think there is a typo. Winglets reduced time to climb to fl430 from 137 minutes to 37 minutes. 2 hrs and 17 minutes without winglets? All 3 of those seem to be off to me. It this was true, a flight from phoenix to dallas or denver you couldn't get it out of the fl3xx area and you would run out of fuel and flame out trying to get to fl510. I think its a small oops. Otherwise nice.

      @a320nick Год назад

      Yes you need a CPL it weighs in at max weight 36,000 lbs.
      The problem there is if you are in the UK they take your CPL off you when you are 60 yes old - because they are jealous and didn't get to fly much anyway - it's the truth!
      Or,
      If you live in America you can have your CPL until you're into your 70's provided you pass your medical.
      But I guess you're going to need two flt crew. So it's. going to have to be part 135 type of operation.

    • @abdulmismail
      @abdulmismail Год назад

      Thanks@@a320nick. I'm not really interested being a commercial aviator but since I'm 53, it's useful to know they remove the CPL at the age of 60. I was planning on omitting the CPL and going directly to IR. I know, here in the UK, we only need an IMC - which I believe used to be valid when flying in EU member states but post-Brexit, I read that the EU no longer accept the IMC. These days, I have my eyes on a PA-42 Cheyenne which has a range of ~2200 nautical miles.

    What kind of license do you need to fly these. And how much are they to fly?

    • @alexrussell1294
      @alexrussell1294 6 лет назад +5

      Depends if your carrying passengers or not, as well as if your charging money to fly said passengers. You can fly this with no more than a PPL (Private Pilots License) if you are flying yourself and a couple others. You'd need an instrument rating to fly during less than desirable conditions. You would also need a commercial license and/or a type rating to actually fly for one of these private jet companies. All in all; all of this will take thousands of dollars and many hours in the air unless you just want your PPL. I hope this helped answer your question.

    • @mrjack8849
      @mrjack8849 6 лет назад +1

      You will need some extra endorsements to go with your licenses as well.

    • @berndog3
      @berndog3 6 лет назад

      In aviation they are certificates, not licenses even though "everyone" calls them that.

    • @israelkozlik7554
      @israelkozlik7554 6 лет назад +1

      Alex Russell that's not accurate. Regardless of whether you're carrying passengers or charging a fare, you'll need a private multi instrument certificate AND a type rating to fly one of these bad boys. Plus of course a copilot by your side.

This made the controls a bit more responsive. Most re-gearings have been complied with and the X is consistently acknowledged as a pilot favorite for operation. Fast, smooth and reliable operation! My understanding is that nobody was really able to make efficient use of the mach .93 top speed. You could have the X traveling at mach .90 and it would rapidly start overtaking a jet traveling at mach.80 or below. The ATC controller would then tell the X to slow down (thus negating the benefit of the near supersonic top speed).
