Country music is Bob Wills, Waylon, Willie, Cash, Straight, George Jones, Vern Gosdin, Brad Paisley, Clint Black, Alan Jackson. Not this Hip Hop BS, if your name is Shaboozy, you’re not country. I know what country is, I have grown up working land, blue collar jobs, and I play country music. I have earned my right to call out this fake country hip hop trend. I have nothing against this person or people doing this dance trend. The problem I have is with the music that is considered country. Shaboozy isn’t country, the country sound is nowhere in the song. The country sound is Fiddle, peddle steal guitar, telecaster tang, acoustic guitar and good vocals. Shaboozy and Beyonce are not country artists but hip hop and pop artists trying to be relevant and creating an unnecessary trend.
I always cry to this song. My best friend who I know since fourth grade we’re going into eighth grade. Every time I was in the car with her and her mom her mom would play this song and always sing super loud just a few months ago her mom passed away due to cancer, and this song brings me back so many memories of her.
