@@danielruiz8259 Homelander was thought to be sterile, but clearly isn’t. I haven’t seen anything about sups having trouble getting kids, and we have three confirmed children of supes.
We don't know if Homelander was born with powers due to his father, or if he was actually injected with V after he was conceived. Homelander's dad had unprotected sex with a lot of women over 40 years but doesn't have a bunch of superpowered kids running around, so I think Homelander is genetically special. My guess is that Vought's scientists messed around with Homelander's DNA so that the Compound V actually changed his genetics, whereas most supes still have basic human DNA and can't pass on their powers through their genes.
Many of the Supes are durable but NOT indestructible. Look at Cindy, she ate the bullets from the security guards gun but was susceptible to Stormfront's plasma bolts. Even Superman can withstand a nuke, but Livewire's lightning bolts can cause him pain. So, understand that there are degrees of "invulnerability."
That's because the power scaling in superhero shows is always dumb af. There's no world where Livewire's lightning is more powerful than a nuke. Hell sometimes Batman throws smoke-bombs that appear to cause Superman pain, it makes no sense. It's like when Omni-man flew so fast that the friction from him hitting stuff caused nuclear explosions and didn't get a single bruise, but somehow the Immortal could damage him with his punches which were NOT moving fast enough to ignite the air.
@@plmokm33 A lot to unpack here... 1) Nukes damage by heat and concussive force (I'm not counting the radiation). Superman is immune to heat and concussive force. Livewire's lightning bolts hurt Superman by disrupting his nervous system. Sort of the same way a taser/stun gun will cause you no physical damage but it definitely will knock you on your @$$ screaming. 2) Batman often mixes Kryptonite into his smoke bombs just for Superman, this is what hurts him. 3) Omni-Man left a trail of blasts on the Flaxan homeworld. These blasts were the result of air heating up and combusting due to the friction caused by Omni-Man's high speed low altitude flight. (This is exactly why Superman doesn't fly that fast close to the ground.) Yes, they technically were as devastating as nukes, but you'll notice Omni-Man was in FRONT of the blasts and not actually inside of them. 4) Omni-Man on the Flaxan homeworld was also smashing into objects causing damage as well, but none of the buildings or structures he smashed into were as durable as his own body. (Omni-Man can and has smashed through an entire planet in the comic book series.) The Immortal is almost as durable (almost) as Omni-Man and therefore could have cause him to bruise or bleed.
@@starbrand3726 1) Tasers and stun guns DO cause physical damage. There is a reason they're referred to as less-lethal weapons, not non-lethal weapons. Besides, Superman isn't vulnerable to electricity either. His only real weakness other than red stars and kryptonite is magic. He's gotten hit by regular lightning and was unfazed, and he's tanked hits from Shazam who uses MAGIC lightning. After a certain point energy is energy, whether it's thermal or electrical. Nukes cause plenty of electrical energy too, there's a reason they create an EMP effect. 2) I don't buy this. If you watch the justice league TV show Batman just carries around a single piece of kryptonite in a lead container and he confirms this. No where does it ever say he also mixes the stuff in with his other weapons. 3) It doesn't matter whether he's in front of them or not. The energy of those explosions is created by him rubbing against the air and the material of buildings. The laws of physics say the exact same amount of energy is applied to his body as is to the surrounding environment, Newton's third law. If anything, he gets MORE condensed energy pumped into him because none of it is dissipated in a multi-mile explosion. 4) Relative durability doesn't matter if there isn't enough force behind it. You can throw a rock at a glass window and not break it if you don't throw it hard enough, despite the rock being more durable than glass.
@@plmokm33 Sorry, I should have specified that the stun gun damage comes from the needles it shoots into your body. But, have you ever gotten an electric shock? I have. It knocked me to the floor but caused no physical damage. It still hurt like hell though. Lol If you want to use the Justice League animated series as canon then you'll have to accept that Livewire's lightning bolts are more powerful than natural lightning. In Superman: The Animated Series, the precursor to Justice League, Livewire was definitely hurting Superman with those blasts. In the comics, the Joker mixed Kryptonite with Scarecrow's fear gas.(Injustice) And in the movie Batman V Superman, Batman did use a Kryptonite gas to weaken Superman. Superman isn't weak against magic, he's just not invulnerable to it. So, a magic spell will effect him. A magic weapon will cut him (as Wonder Woman proved... repeatedly.) Kingdom Come, Superman/Wonder Woman. A red sun will not hurt Superman either, but once under a red sun, his stored solar energy will begin to drain like a battery. However, concentrated red solar rays, like Kryptonian heat vision, will hurt him. Superman uses his own heat vision to shave and cut his hair. Superman and any Kryptonian are weak against an extremely strong force. For example...Superman breaking General Zod's neck. And there are plenty of other forces capable of hurting Superman, like... ...The Antimonitor's anti-matter blasts (painful but not lethal.) Darkseid's Omega beams. Mind control and certain psionic attacks. Temporal attacks, like trapping Superman within a single nano second or aging him to one million years old. (The Time Trapper and Glorith.) Dimensional Energies can hurt Superman as well, like that of the Phantom Zone. Even Doomsday was defeated once by teleporting him over and over in an infinate loop, never allowing him to rematerialize. Even a Kryptonian crystal was once used to stab Superboy in the late 80's early 90's Superboy TV series. (Not sure if that's canon.) Overcharging or "super" charging Superman with yellow solar energy could kill him as Kex Luther proved in All Star Superman, (Not exactly canon either, but still significant.) A Kryptonian virus can effect Superman as well. (Action Comics #6 SuperDoom.) The Anti-Life Equation can effect, hurt and kill Superman as seen in DCeased (2019). Several Lanterns can hurt Superman. A team of Green Lanterns were able to capture and imprison Superboy Prime. An evil Martian with powers identical to the Martian Manhunter bragged "I killed a Kryptonian once." And nukes will hurt Superman. (Batman V. Superman.) Superman and Doomsday were nuked and Superman looked like a zombie afterwards but was lucky enough to regenerate from the sunrise. And also in Superman/Wonder Woman issue 6 and 7, both Superman and Wonder Woman were nuked. Superman wrapped Wonder Woman in his cape at the last second to protect her, but he ended up looking like something from The Walking Dead.
@@starbrand3726 Not what I was talking about regarding the stun gun. Electricity causes burns and nerve damage. Yes, I know a red sun doesn't hurt him. I just said it was a weakness. Regarding magic, if you are invulnerable to everything except magic, then you're weak against magic. Regarding the kryptonite, so what? Every example you brought up it was explicitly stated that there was kryptonite in use. When Batman or someone like Deathstroke uses a normal explosion of some sort and Superman shows a reaction of pain, they rarely go on to then clarify "oh by the way there was kryptonite in that". I'm talking about random fight scenes that they show Superman going up against aliens or robots with laser guns or something. I severely doubt they have kryptonite. I don't know why it matters that Livewire's powers are greater than ordinary lightning. Superman has flown through interstellar space and touched the surface of the sun. The types of electrical charges he would encounter in those scenarios are higher than any normal lightning by several orders of magnitude. I'm not sure what you're arguing with the rest of it. Yea, crap like temporal abilities and dimensional energies will probably hurt just about any being. Those things are also fictional so you can't really argue much about them. Nukes on the other hand are NOT fictional. We know how much damage they do in real life, so based on that we should be able to determine how much damage he would take from other things, like lightning or a grenade. The point is that he doesn't have straight up immunity to thermal and kinetic damage like you said earlier. What you said pretty much proves my point. He can damage himself with his own heat vision, and he took damage from a nuke. At the end of the day, what we call "damage" is simply the transfer of energy. Whether it's kinetic energy from a punch or thermal energy from the sun. For someone like Superman or Omni-man to withstand the kinetic and thermal energy from moving through the atmosphere fast enough to cause nuclear explosions, but not be able to withstand the kinetic energy of a punch that doesn't even seem to break the sound barrier simply does not add up. It's not consistent.
