As tragic as Ordinary Grace is, it is also a beautiful story, and I’m glad we read and discussed it for the Quilluminati. Also, having figured out the tech side of it, I am now the Overlord of livestreams! 😁
Hey Mike, you probably hear this all the time, but your channel changed my reading life. I’ve been a subscriber since 2020 (mostly a silent participant). If it wasn’t for you and a handful of other channels, I wouldn’t have read 60+ books since 2020 (much slower reader than you and most of your viewers) You always say your goal is to get people to read. Well congrats man, you’ve done it. Don’t get down about the numbers, I’ll be here to the end, so will countless others. Thanks for your contributions and recommendations, I’ll never finish my endless TBR list thanks to you 😂 Peace, Brother.
Just so you know Mike, the channel ain't not growing cause you just got me as a new sub this month! Thanks for the recommendations so far, you and Durfee seem the most trust worthy to my tastes in my young travels on booktube.
I really enjoyed your video with Ryan Cahill and Christopher Ruocchio! I had no issue with how much anyone talked, it's great as a someone who is also a writer to get a peak into how their brains tick so thank you for that.
I finished The Dragonbone Chair, Stone of Farewell and I'm about 45% through To Green Angel Tower. All I can say is that middle book syndrome is worth it for this incredible final book. I'm loving To Green Angel Tower a lot. My only complaint is that I still don't like the Maegwin chapters but everything else is great so far. I really like Simon's progression in this book. Our young mooncalf is growing up.
I am glad that you have made the decision to be OK with any ceiling instead of change or shift your opinions to cater to the RUclips algo. You are the best, Mike.
Hey Mike, just wanted to say thank you. Think it’s about one year since I found your channel, and you have been a big part of my reading journey. Since then I’ve read much of the King, Dune, The First Law and many other of your recommendations. Loving every part of it, keep up the good work! Cant wait to start the Age of Madness later this year, after some spooky books this month
I discovered the First Law Trilogy through Mike's Channel, specifically his mention of it during his 25,000 subscriber Livestream. It's always great to read that other people cite Mike as the reason they started reading or for books they didn't know about.
I watched the spoiler-free section on the Ordinary Grace livestream you all did and that was fantastic, definitely bumping that up the priority list! Also really enjoyed the streams with Ryan and Christopher this month, thanks so much for sharing the fun ;) Also, I admire your mindset around the status of the channel. Yes it sucks that you are not growing anymore, but I seriously cannot thank you enough for just continuing to do what you love and share the bookish joy with us, you are a pillar of the community for a reason! So long as you are here, I will be here to support you :)
Sorry to hear that the numbers have continued to trend down. That being said I’m glad you’re still doing what you’re doing! I told you this at B&N in southlake and I’ll say it again, you’re one of the main people that influenced me to read in the first place!
My book of the month was Fool’s Errand! I really enjoyed Fitz this time around & Nighteyes reminded me of Merlin from Warlord or Liz Hen from 5WA, so funny, he had the best lines!!
Found you through The Wheel of Time and your videos are automatic views for me. Definitely got me back into reading after a ten year hiatus. So many TBR recommendations have come from your channel and the vast number are a hit with me. I do miss your book reviews as the fellow gen-xer here enjoys the long form videos. Keep your head up man. You have created a positive community here and doing good work!
Mike, thanks for hanging in there. You’re on my regular feed whenever you post. That “radio” voice reviewing books is just great. You’ve inspired me to start my own channel (not this account), but man, saying the “right” things at the “right” times is difficult. I’m Reading the Bound and the Broken, The Sun Eater, and “The Deep” by Nick Cutter, for scary season. The former two series came from your reviews. Enjoying them every bit as much as you said I would. Of War and Ruin is next, as well as Demon in White (goddamn those books are good)! BIG too! Thanks for all you do, Mike! ✌️🤙
I’m glad you letting go of being a slave to the numbers. You are my favorite booktuber and I think at least half of my TBR this year is off your recommendation. You and @shadesoforange are on my path of the beam. Love you two. Thanks for all your hard work.
Good month, even thiugh the numbers are low. I'm always watching your videos, they are always great! Probably no spooky reads fot me this October, let's see what I'll read
My Best Friend's Exorcism is my favorite Grady Hendrix novel. It was the first book I read by him. I am currently reading How to Sell a Haunted House and I really am enjoying it. The themes of parental death, sibling alienation, and feelings of inadequacy as a mom are really hitting hard for me.
I highly recommend This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger, if you haven’t read it all ready. It’s also a coming of age story with amazing themes and beautiful writing.
Ordinary Grace is my top book of this year. William Kent Kruger's books are filling up my TBR. This Tender Land will be my next read of his. Slewfoot is in my list of spooky season books this month as well. I'm looking forward to a dark, witchy story.
Thank you for the channel! Long time viewer and you got me back into reading again, so much so that my wife is complaining about the books taking up too much room in the house
I NEVER get any notifications about MBR from YT (I have alerts on) but discord always lets me know. Mike's usually on my suggested videos but geez they NEVER show me any MMR although I watch everyone! Excited for Spooky season! I usually watch a couple of my favorites but Mike has really got me into all things spooky. Ill be reading/watching along! Everyone enjoy their Spooky Season! Ordinary Grace was tied with The Winter King as my favs of the month.
Hey @Mike's Book Reviews, I really enjoy your reading introductions!!! Its like a book trailer that builds suspense for reader and has on multiple occasions added to my TBR. Appreciate your awesome content Mike! -Cheers, A fellow Constant Reader

I can’t remember if I just thought this or commented it 😅😂 either way, you should do some reading vlog style videos. I really enjoy seeing peoples off the cuff reactions while they’re reading a book. Love your reviews Mike, just want to go back to a previous conversation about Amazon, just received 2 books this past week and both came in boxes, as I requested, and both were in perfect condition. Raven Kennedys last book about King Midas and Janny Wurts last Wars of Light and Shadow book.
I still see your vids pop up in my home feed at least! Glad your Quilluminati read went well for you, and I think I might be taking a page out of your book for spooky season and digging into some King with Pet Sematary soon
Very much looking forward to your All the Fiends of Hell review! I went ahead and read it last week in anticipation of your spooky season. I think it should spark an interesting discussion on atmosphere vs. characters and if one can hold up the other.
