    Hey all! What's YOUR cymbal brand of choice?

  • @zerocool__

    Funny that when I clicked on this video I never would’ve imagined that it was going to be one of the best sounding demos of this pack on youtube, including all of the usual big channels that demo drum gear. I can actually hear the cymbals clearly in this. Great job man!

      Thank you! Really appreciate that and thanks for watching. My first product demo, sometimes you don't know how they will turn out lol. I hope to do more soon 🤙

    that review convinced me to buy this set! Thanks!
    I was looking for someone who play those cymblas a bit more "rocking" ;)

    The 20” extra thin hammered crash is my favorite crash.
    You should check out the Meinl Jazz Thin crash if you haven’t already. And the foundry reserve hats

    • @JoshParkerDrums
      @JoshParkerDrums  2 года назад

      Hell yeah man, for sure will. Those foundry hats are real nice, also heard great things about the polyphonic ride 🤙

    • @JustinHubbard84
      @JustinHubbard84 2 года назад

      @@JoshParkerDrums yea I’ve owned it. It’s great if you crash your ride a lot. But it wasn’t for me. My biggest gripe with Meinl is I haven’t found a ride I truly love from them. So all my hats & crashes are Meinl but my rides are still Paiste. I want to try the Meinl Raw Bell ride or a thin extra Dry ride tho

    • @JoshParkerDrums
      @JoshParkerDrums  2 года назад

      @@JustinHubbard84 That raw bell might just be it for ya man. I tend to agree man, finding a ride bell that cuts just right is a process for sure. Good luck with the search!

    I love the trashy dryness! Great playing! I wanna hear old Papa Parker playing those puppies! My brand of choice is Istanbul Mehmet, Zildjian, and what ever my next set ends up being - maybe someday I'll find some Spizzichinos if I win the lotto!

Just in case you stop by and see this… Josh I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas 🧑‍🎄🎅🏻 🎄🎁 and a very safe and Happy New Year! 🥳🎇🎉🎆

    I have these - they are awesome. Noticed you are playing with Evans hydraulics. How do you like those? Thinking about a smaller/quieter kit since i play in small spaces but play mostly rock - thinking about going 18 - 12 - 14 but putting hydraulics on the toms and maybe an EMAD on the bass. Have you ever tried to tune a smaller kit for rock? Any thoughts or suggestions. Great video btw - these cymbals are the best around imho

    • @JoshParkerDrums
      @JoshParkerDrums  9 месяцев назад

      Hey Jon, thanks for checking it out. I think the hydraulics would work for smaller clubs for sure because they naturally deaden the tone/volume overall. You'll still get that rock type "thud" though. Even so, you could use moon gels if you need to really dampen everything further. An emad works for everything in my opinion. You could even go with a coated emad to try and soften a bit too. Muffling inside the kick will play a big part as well. Good luck with your setup! - Josh

    Can i use this set in more rock and progressive songs ?

    • @JoshParkerDrums
      @JoshParkerDrums  Год назад

      I would say so, however they are dry and not "brilliant" so depends on what type of sound you're going for overall.

    I would say my dream set of cymbals is the Zildjian K sweet pack. But unfortunately, with me being a intermediate drummer, I don't feel I deserve them yet. Lol. But great demo video, you got some killer fills man.

    How do you like the 21" ride as a crash, crash/ride? Is it more of just a ride cymbal?

    • @JoshParkerDrums
      @JoshParkerDrums  3 года назад +1

      You can really lay into this thing when crashing. Has a nice wide wash, maybe a little shorter decay.

    Dum change, cymbal change. Im a long time Sabian player and have a library of them. Considering the Meinl MJ pack. You just "testing" new drums and cymbal or if the a permanent change?

    • @JoshParkerDrums
      @JoshParkerDrums  2 года назад

      Hey man, thanks for asking....pretty much a permanent change. I did keep the Zildjians but playing these Meinl's in vids and out gigging. I also keep the Yamaha's setup for vids and gig out the Tama's. I'd recommend the Meinl's for sure, but they are def darker and dryer than the Zildjian's I'm used to just fyi

    Epic dude, I’ve been wanting to get a large symbol pack, just for a price I can afford lol I was looking at the meinl brass family pack, 9 symbols for about 350, would you recommend getting them?
