I’m almost 60. I don’t remember not knowing this song. I have been healthy, most of my life. A few bouts with this or that, but never scared. Earlier this year, I got sick. Pneumonia. LOL, I got a little scared. A week in the hospital, and recovery was going to take a minute. Before I recovered, a stomach bug. The kind that stays a day or two, but it stayed. No food, just beer and broth. Two weeks or so. Then it came back. By the time I got through all that, I had not eaten in so long, I was malnourished, and dehydrated. I’m fine now. It’s going to take a while to get the weight and muscle mass back. This song means something different to me now.

The beauty of the album (The Wall) is that the songwriter (Roger Waters) not only tells the story of a fictional rock star named Pink, but at the same time, he also tells us about his own story. A sort of schisophrenic album if we can say so. The loss of his father in WW2, (Another Brick in the Wall Part 1), The educational system of Great Britain, (Another Brick in the Wall Part 2). A mother who has become overprotective, (Mother). Rock star life, (Young Lust) + (One of My Turns). The failure of a first marriage, (One of My Turns) + (Don't Leave Me Now). And so on until (Comfortably Numb), where he refers to a personal experience in Philadelphia. A doctor had to give him a strong sedative before a concert because of severe stomach cramps.
Are You cried man ? Ow you felt the music in all your totality and profundity . Congratulations and thanks 😊 SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH . Go to see the video clip .

That album cover is for Dark Side of the Moon. Comfortably Numb was on The Wall. Roger Waters sings the initial vocals in both verses and David Gilmour sings the choruses and plays the lead guitar. Pink Floyd is the greatest band of all time in my opinion. They experimented in sound for a long time. Dark Side of the Moon was their breakthrough in 1973.

This was fun watching your nearly speechless reaction. Pink Floyd has that effect on people. They draw out feelings through their music. You are not alone.
You sir have now experienced true Soul Music. Pink Floyd has a way of touching your soul so deeply, bringing up feelings and thoughts long forgotten. It still brings me to tears at almost 50. I saw them in 94 on the Pulse tour, maybe the greatest concert tour of all time.
The “fleeting glimpse” is this: When the writer was a child, it wasn’t unusual to prescribe opiates to ease the symptoms of illness. Knowing this, go back and listen to the lyrics again.
Teddy, my son is 7 and non verbal autistic. I cannot express in words how much I adore you and your content. When you open up and give some insight into what you are feeling, it helps me to try and understand what my boy might be feeling or processing, as he cannot tell me, so I must rely on my senses to know, or try to know. I love your content man. Pink Floyd has been a staple in my library for 40 years. Welcome to the experience. Oh, and don't ever apologize for pausing and telling us what you feel. that's why we watch.
The graphic you’re looking at is the album cover of the Dark Side of the Moon album, while the song came out 3 albums later…The Wall. There are 2 singers here. The first is the doctor, who’s trying to get the performer able to take the stage. The parts that start with “There is no pain, you are receding…” is David Gilmour, the “patient” (lead guitar). Welcome to Pink Floyd. David Gilmour doesn’t plug his guitar into an amp, he plugs it into your soul.
As a 15 year old in 1980 this has been one of the greatest songs for the last almost 45 years. The Pulse live version is a classic performance of this beautiful, poetic tune.
8:06 Pink Floyd is "vibe music" mate, it's designed to inspire certain emotional responses that you just kind of wash over you. That's also why it's so hard for you, at this timecode, to explain why it's causing a reaction when it's otherwise not your digs. Even if it's outside your preferences, just being capable of empathy and intuition: it's still going to hit you like a wave. The ebb and flow of the music itself, if you stand back and just examine it analytically: it really does flow and recede like waves on a beach. You can play this music for someone who doesn't understand English and they'll still catch feelz - some things are just universal.
This is my favourite Pink Floyd song. Always gives me goosebumps. It's been speculated that the lyrics about balloon hands and fever were based on David Gilmour's experience with Kawasaki's disease as a kid. Great reaction.
Teddy Teddy Teddy…you are the shit, mate! Song I’ve listed to 10,000…what an amazing gift to get to watch someone such as yourself have such a genuine reaction…to experience what I experienced so many years ago. Thanks for this reaction!
My man...watching your reactionary emotions makes the hairs on my arms stand up straight...I am 53 and have listened to Floyd with headphones while laying in bed about to drift to sleep since I was in the sixth grade. I grew up in the sixties the easiest words to explain is "A Journey" they give you. They utilized L and R panning to create such a large space and depth for each instrument and voice.
🏴, Americans can't come up with anything this sublime. If you want intraspection listen, really listen, to Pink Floyds "Time" 🤯 The '94 Pulse live versions will rock you to the core
One of the best guitar solos every. I discovered PF in the early 80s as a young teen. The Wall. both movie and record. I got the cassette and walked around all day through the neighborhood and such just playing it. When me and my wife first met when i was 18 we bought it again for the car. its been with me all my life.
There's so many amazing bands in this world... So many but somehow Pink Floyd is untouchable, unique, artistic and for future generations that discover Pink Floyd, then they discover the real music
Comfortably numb comes from "The Wall" which tells the story of somebody called Pink. The opening track lyrics are directed to an unborn baby... "so you thought you'd like to go to the show... "the show" is a metaphore for life. Pink goes through a series of traumas, his father dies, he was bullied at school, his mother was over protective, his wife left him and each traumatic event made him build a wall, shutting out emotions of life, each event was just a "brick in the wall". At this point in the album he has finally completed the wall, he exalts in separation from life which can no longer reach him, he has become comfortably numb, but he is conflicted about what he has lost..."When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye, I turned to look but it was gone, I cannot my finger on it now, the child has grown, the dream has gone and I have become comfortably numb". The genius of the guitar solo expresses both emotions.
Your description and the correlation you made with the album cover was spot on. Pink Floyd is an immersive soundscape of a universally shared experience and the passing of time.

This was definitely the way to go!! David Gilmore is the singer and lead guitar!!
Roger is the verses, David is the chorus
David Gilmour
The “fleeting glimpse” is this: When the writer was a child, it wasn’t unusual to prescribe opiates to ease the symptoms of illness. Knowing this, go back and listen to the lyrics again.
Wrong album cover shown for the song played. Album shown is Dark Side of the Moon. Song is on the album The Wall.
Excellent point!
dude I love your reactions!
Pink Floyd will leave you... speechless.
Anything on this album you can't go wrong listening to amongst other albums ❤
Regarded as one of the greatest sols of all time.
Nice comment very on point 👌
Listen to your patrons' suggestions they know this music. There's a reason particular versions are suggested/requested.
the studio versions are better than the live performances
What an amazing and honest reaction, this is why I watch your shit.
This is my favourite Pink Floyd song. Always gives me goosebumps. It's been speculated that the lyrics about balloon hands and fever were based on David Gilmour's experience with Kawasaki's disease as a kid. Great reaction.
I know what you mean. When in my car I put it on repeat and listen over and over.
I absolutely love the guitar solo in this song!
Teddy Teddy Teddy…you are the shit, mate! Song I’ve listed to 10,000…what an amazing gift to get to watch someone such as yourself have such a genuine reaction…to experience what I experienced so many years ago. Thanks for this reaction!
Love it how you keep your reactions real bro, music brings out so many feels, you being vulnerable is such a strength to you and your followers 🙌🏼
My man...watching your reactionary emotions makes the hairs on my arms stand up straight...I am 53 and have listened to Floyd with headphones while laying in bed about to drift to sleep since I was in the sixth grade. So I must have been 12.the journey Floyd would take me on is indescribable unless you experience that journey like I just witnessed you start. I can count my comments on RUclips on one hand...but had to send this to say Thank You. You sharing of yourself with these from Tool,Slipknot, even Limp B. Is a chance to elevate my passion for music. Cheers!
Wow what a beautiful genuine reaction to a song that I have known and loved for over 40 years... You are awesome dude!
If you get a chance watch the wall (film)
Watching you fall in love with, identify with, and appreciate the art that causes my heart to beat, is truly beautiful.. what you're doing with your reactions, is what other reactions lack, soul.. nothing here is plastic, processed, forced, or exaggerated for audience retention.. you seem like a genuine person and come off as quite authentic in your videos.. man to man, homie to homie, human to human, I'm proud of you dawg 👊🏽
The album is an anthology, the album is meant to be listened to from the first song to the last. It tells the whole story and these songs will make more sense to you. Welcome to Pink Floyd.💕💕💕
Yeah... Pink Floyd. You'll need to listen to the whole album.
I think most people that can appreciate good music can enjoy pink Floyd if you're in the right mood. I remember discovering this album in my teens and listening to it while chilling in the sun on a clubbing holiday. There is always a right time for pink Floyd.
Please check out the PULSE live version of Comfortably Numb. The extended guitar solo and spectacular light show combine for an unforgettable performance.
Having you listen to this made me so emotional, this is my dads favourite song. And we both know he doesn’t have long left. He wants this song at his funeral. Man.
So sorry to hear about your dad. We played this at my brother’s funeral, Pink Floyd was his favorite band. This reaction got me too
This poor guy. 😢 so much amazing Floyd music that he has no idea is out there yet. Welcome to the rabbit hole!
Singer is Dave Gilmore on the chorus. Also the best guitarist ever!
I grew up with Pink Floyd´s music and it feels like it´s almost part of my DNA. It always gets me deeply and I love David Gilmour's album this year. It took me back. Thanks for this reaction
I grew up in the sixties the easiest words to explain is "A Journey" they give you. They utilized L and R panning to create such a large space and depth for each instrument and voice.
The greatest band to chill out to
Also, the London Philharmonic Orchestra did an AMAZING rendition
🏴, Americans can't come up with anything this sublime.
If you want intraspection listen, really listen, to Pink Floyds "Time" 🤯
The '94 Pulse live versions will rock you to the core
One of the best guitar solos every. I discovered PF in the early 80s as a young teen. The Wall. both movie and record. I got the cassette and walked around all day through the neighborhood and such just playing it. When me and my wife first met when i was 18 we bought it again for the car. its been with me all my life.
There's so many amazing bands in this world... So many but somehow Pink Floyd is untouchable, unique, artistic and for future generations that discover Pink Floyd, then they discover the real music
With pink floyd the music speaks to your soul. You don't listen to PF, you experience them. They are a genre onto themselves
One of my all-time favorite songs. I also love Wish You Were Here. You should really listen to The Wall in order to get the best possible experience
