      History tells us that its hard to compete for championships when one of your franchise players is a pass first player. Only one that really did it was magic and thats why he's the GOAT PG. Meanwhile Steve nash got 0. Stockton got 0. CP3 got 0. Kidd got 1 because dirk carried him. Ben simmons is getting franchise player money so he needs to score more.

    Kennys insight is dead WRONG.
    a 0 point and 13 assist game is in most cases a net negative. Most of his assists are not from shot creation, but its just him swinging the ball around because he doesnt want to shoot or from stationary handoff passes. His 9 boards are also overrated, because most are just completely uncontested defensive boards. He is literally not doing much of anything, and in a game where you need to score 120 points to win, his 0 points and half empty assists literally mean next to nothing!

    • @rap3208
      @rap3208 Год назад +18

      He had a total 13 assists in the game, that looks good if you don't know the details. Barkley's point was he already had 10 assists at the half, but at the more crucial 2nd half where he was supposed to step it up, he only had 3 assists...and still, zero points.

In almost every single game he played rodman had more rebounds, steals, and assists than points. ANNNNNNNNNNNND he got paid less money to do it. This is why I loved watching players back in the early 2000s, 90s, and 80s. Watching highlights of the 80s, 70s, and 60s showed me that players had heart and did it for the love of basketball and to be called the greatest at their positions. Now players do it for a paycheck until they get that max deal then start playing lazy or mysteriously hurt.

    Its so weird how Ben's scared to death to just shoot it because he might miss it. I dont remember a player like that in history. Everyone loves just shooting it

    I appreciate Chuck telling Kenny to stop comparing Simmons to Westbrook because Westbrook will ultimately be a hall of famer. Kenny stop making excuses for Ben! He’s timid! It doesn’t take some in depth analysis to see that

      It felt to me like they were all ignoring what Kenny was saying-he was saying that Westbrook's approach is how Simmons *could* score. But let's be real about Westbrook-it took him a long time to get to that point: there were many seasons where the team Russell Westbrook was on was WORSE because of his constant shot heaving, "Russ being Russ." Where night after night, he took a ton of shots and made very few of them. He refused to be deterred. And since Kobe, everyone's like "yeah you can't let a shooting slump deter you!" ... but if you keep shooting that poorly and at that high volume, you're hurting your team. Even now, when he has finally figured out how to raise his percentage, he's still a permanent fixture on the bench for a team that's been hovering around .500.
