Great video guys 👍.....always put in 6 feeder fulls at start of session......if you have clipped up..(second bomb rod set up further out)....the angle of the final resting place is as you said depending on depth....Will be well beyond....I've always put a bomb behind the final resting place .....done most of my match fishing in the 80s.....with great success!.....😉
Mega interesting, love these under water footage and breakdown videos. Thankyou Matrix, Rob and Jamie for sharing and putting this content together, Tight Lines 👍
Great video again, thanks. Two things I would love to see. First having a freediver do the filming you will have a chance of seeing fish. Secondly, I would like to see why pulling your feeder a little will set-off a bite. I think it is because you've pulled your hook line tight but it could be because you put your hook where the ground bait is.
Hi Jamie was you using mono on your feeding rod would the also count as to why the feeder was landing further because of the stretch in the line as braid there is no stretch
Fantastic video guys and something all anglers have wanted to see and learn for a long time. Will be experimenting with this new knowledge next time out 👌👍🎣
absolutely brilliant video matrix Rob and Jamie, that's opened my eyes on casting and what happens to my feed afterwards, that's changed my look out, and putting a little distance on when fishing, thank you very much for that video. 🤔
Great info :) Possible the extra distance could also be caused by the mono stretching. I've seen a lot of folk get dead depth wrong when plumbing up due to mono stretch.
Fantastic as always and some questions answered, a change in approach is definitely needed now when baiting up a swim.....cheers guys, awesome as always
Thanks Jamie and Rob that was a eye opener with the baiting up feeder rod when i have been fishing my local rez i and i have been struggling for bights i have took the line clip off and gone around 2 metres past my clip for my original fishing line and started to get bights and now i can see why this has happened thanks again for the great videos and work yo put in to help everyone with there fishing
Thanks for this. Extremely helpful. I was surprised how little bait there appeared to be on the bottom and also how much of it was hidden by the weeds. Given that fish find food by scent as well as sight, perhaps there could be a case for using stronger smelling baits on weedy waters (what smell to use is a whole other can of worms, of course). Wetter groundbait in the feeder seems to be the best way to ensure a more even spread with fewer lumps and create a visible cloud.
I know this is 2 years old...but I'd love to see this on a river...especially the Trent. From what I can observe and If I took the observations. I'd put in 5 times the amount...and as I say that ! Rob Hughes your diver says, three times! And if I took this info to the Trent. I'd probably put in 25-40 times the amount of feed in with your large feeder...and I'd do that at the very start. Then set up and probably put the same amount in again and that would be 5-10 yards out....whether I'm wrong I don't know. But like I suggested I'd love to see the kind of info you get from a river. Also..the amount of bait you have put in in the feeder, does it compare to a carp angler who puts in a pva sock of perhaps 30 boliies in? I've no idea what the comparitable size or weight is, but I'm betting. Carp anglers seem to have this right, especially when they also continue the boilies over the top... and with a probable double boilie on the hook! Just asking Jamie, not arguing, just asking questions. I'm still learning at bloody 60!
Hi Jamie, brilliant informative video l would love to see this repeated on the river trent. Would be good to see just how far the bait spreads in that enviroment.
Probably worth taking a leaf from the carp boys and use braid on your feeding feeder as no stretch to tighten bait up. Great, video guys love the x3 approach makes, sense
That's a great idea. Hooklength materials vary in buoyancy and it would be interesting to see how they lay on the bottom, whether they form a bow, etc.
Excellent, would of loved to of seen the feeder with a hook length on, does the hook land next to the feeder creating lots of slack line or does it settle away from the feeder on a tight line been more direct to the tip🤔
It's already been tested in one of the previous episodes, in short the answer was anything beyond 20cm was a waste unless you're trying to catch on the drop because that's generally where it's going to land regardless of what you do with the cast or hooklength material
Got to love Jamie Harrison, he's such down to earth guy and a great angler 👍
Very interesting. Thanks for the return
Another eye-opener from the Matrix Team, amazing guys thanks
Wow , a great video, I am in my late 70s and still learning. Well done to you both.
Great video. Amazing how little the groundbait looked when it was on the bottom.
I am not really a feeder fisherman but I found this fascinating, love these videos. Keep them coming.
Rich.
Now that is food for thought ! and I'm nowhere near as good at casting as Jamie.

Top Video Jamie & Rob ;)

great vid again from the matrix team ,you don't realise there is so much weed on bottom of a lake bed its a wonder a fish finds your hook bait
Didn't realise just how far the bait would be away from the feed
Great video will have to practice 👍
Excellent video, learned a lot and will adjust my fishing to get better placement of the hookbait

Great video…. Can’t believe how little feed is in the feeder, the times by 3 is great thinking. Well done Jamie and Rob
Another great job by the Matrix media team and Rob to finally give us more facts about what's ACTUALLY happening underwater nice work lads!
Hi Jamie was you using mono on your feeding rod would the also count as to why the feeder was landing further because of the stretch in the line as braid there is no stretch
Excellent video eye opening, also jamie dose Excellent coaching sessions I learnt loads off my coaching day with different feeders

Love this series real eye openers and blast theory to bits. Thanks All

Great . So grateful of focus on feeder . Thank you for making video 👍👍👏

Awesome buddy..
Fascinating video, a real eye opener. Great idea to film it. Well worth a watch. Thanks fellas.
Excellent eye opening stuff. More please!
Wow what an eye opener great video guys keep them coming greatly appreciated

Cracking video. Learning loads
Brilliant video....
Great vid from Two great Angler's Jamie please do an in-depth vid on the feeding rod and what you do to combat it Cheers Guys.
I like my feed to come out at the bottom, well plugged containg a few live maggots to emty the feeder. Moving it a little after a minute or two.
Super vidéo
Thanks for these videos. Is there a Matrix supplier in New Zealand?

Jamie did use braid on his feeding rod! 😀
Rob is so dedicated
Great vid, could you show in another vid how different hook-length, lengths, act under water please, how far they fall from the feeder etc.
That's a great idea. Hooklength materials vary in buoyancy and it would be interesting to see how they lay on the bottom, whether they form a bow, etc.
This had already been covered. Just look for the Matrix Submerged playlist on our channel and it’s the very first thing we covered with Jamie Harrison
The answer was anything beyond 20cm was a waste unless you're trying to catch on the drop
@@ifishmatrix Thanks. Just watched it.
Fish at 30m on the feeder
Cast at 28 m on the big bait up feeder
Excellent, would of loved to of seen the feeder with a hook length on, does the hook land next to the feeder creating lots of slack line or does it settle away from the feeder on a tight line been more direct to the tip🤔

You'll find answer to your question, here - ruclips.net/video/gFABu51eLTk/видео.html
Are you going to do a video that shows where the hookbaits end up, particularly in relation to size of hooklength, depth and types of bait?
We've covered that already! - ruclips.net/video/gFABu51eLTk/видео.html
Rob Hughes, can you please clarify for me is the large bait up feeder going further than the normal feeder, I can't work it out from the video shots?
The bait up feeder was going 6/8ft further than the rod he was fishing with despite being clipped up at the same spot
@@ifishmatrix Amazing, you won't think so with braided main line as I know Jamie uses braid on that bait up rod.
Good watch but would have liked to have seen it with a hook length on.
Hi, what is size of reel in video?
Watching this has made me wonder why don't fishing companies do this when bringing out new feeders
Some do 😉
You need to do this on a river/canal, guys!
We have more planned next year
Shame the content didn’t go further, where was the window feeder. A very popular choice & appreciate Matrix don’t make one but…..
I’m sure we’ll cover this at some point 👍🏻
What is the reel size anyone?
It's a 4000 Horizon Reel
