Don't know what country you live in but down here in Louisiana we have a bunch of bugs sitting going to waste. Think it could make a fun video to make the trip. Surprisingly all of these are in one area neat fort polk.
I just bought a bug today. $4.99 at Lowes. Lol. $35,000 I couldn't pull that trigger. I didn't have much interest in VWs until I started watching all you guys. My shelfs are starting to fill up.
Ok.....Now, its a real message...1st the 64 and the other 64 and my name is Herb, and here we have 'Herbie'...I've got plenty of message now to wrench on my Father's '64 and get it running!!! Thank You!!!
I liked the 'wind up', its not always what it seems! That was a good story though and Jason must have felt some dejavue. 'It will be running by tonight', I love the optimism of youth. I know Robbie will do a good job on the restoration so it has gone to a good home. Jason you are now committed to get the red car ready we saw it on 🎥. Thanks again Jason for a great video and Richard for 'playing along'. 👍👍
Whether it's a OE restoration or a Herbie tribute car I'm totally on board with it. Nice find, Dub! Not often you get a chance to buy a car you've wanted for years. Sometimes good things still actually happen to good people. Well deserved! Can't wait to see you get to work on it! -Shane
Hell yeah Man!!! All the beetles I've had over the years and I've never been fortunate enough to have a rag top!!! Keep up the good work Rad Dude!!!!!!
That bug has an awesome look to it. I'd definitely want to keep that patina and turn it into a Herbie Goes Bananas replica when he's dragged out the sea.
Love the Summary 09:14 Axiums in the Vintage Car world: 1. Rust never sleeps 2. It's only original once 3. Stock never goes Out of Style. but: 4. Everything is allowed if it works:)
Maybe I’m just being a bit thick here, but Jason, have you bought the herbie replica and the red one and the white one, which dubwerks is going to buy off you on instalments? Genuinely wish I knew what you did for a job to be able to afford to buy all these cars! 😂 Entertaining as always
Recently came across your channel..Great content! We had VW's while we lived in Germany & England when I was a kid..Hard time finding nice ones here in Michigan with all the road salt & rust...Keep up the great work & videos!
Always enjoy your videos but this one was especially fun. Great to see DubWerks reunion! I love the ' 63 ragtops. Almost bought a really solid driver about 30 years ago for $450. Kicked myself again after watching you guys.
Whenever I see a VW Bug this vintage, I’m instantly 8 years old again watching “The Love Bug” and having a ball. I’m glad these precious old Bugs are in good capable hands that are going to treat them well. God I need a Bug again!
Awesome story. Reminds me of my 56 oval. I went to get some advice from the local VW man, 74 years young. He had a 56 oval in primer with two easy rust repairs and the original 36 horse. I asked was it for sale, he replied No. Ok easy done, I purchased a 56 sight unseen from Bundaberg in Qld. I live in Adelaide SA. Spent $4500.00 (US $2,250) on the car and paid an extra $2700.00 in freight (US $1,350). Car arrived and it was garbage. I got the same guy to come have a look and tell me how far gone its was. Yep to much for my skill level not one panel matching massive front end damage with a dodgy repair and missing most of the parts. He tells me in the same conversation. Why don't you buy mine? So as all good stories go I sold the first one for $6000.00 (US$3,000) and bought his for $8,000 (US$4,000) The car is complete minus some chrome. =) Good luck on the build Dubwerks
Nice car! I'll admit that I was a bit confused about what was going on, until Rich explained it 10 minutes in. Maybe you could get him to do all your descriptions? When you two guys get together and start talking... Let's just say Dub could've had the white rag top in primer in that amount of time! LOL. Really looking forward to see this one take shape!
Excellent video Jason :) my first girlfriend Rebecca had first car 1968 VW Bug in White also looking like Herbie car only difference was Cb antenna on front bumper steel whip and 108 inches on left side and radio on floor mount plus VW Am/Fm radio plus 4 speakers plus antenna! She gave up car 1995 before she & her older sister Jen & parents moved California in Trazan area! But guy has it since repainted plus whole car got bus motor plus transmission too on restored too and 2016 saw at local vehicles show I attended in Rebecca plus her Husband plus 3 kids also older Sister Jennifer also Husband plus 4 kids and mom of Becky also Jennifer there too and reunites with car plus Becky sign too with permanent marker black too owner permission too! Also Becky madien name is in English is Herbie but in Germany families is Herbst Lol!
Ha Ha ! 'He who stands with his hands in his pockets', couldn't resit it and he went for it ! kind regards to you both Alex LOL if it rolls I'll buy it !
Big fan of your channel do you sell vw that you fix up always wanted a VW bug because my dad had a 64 with a 4 speed with 6 voltage system let me know Wanna see some more vehicles that to fix up thanks
Hey Jason! I’m in need of some guidance. Today I noticed a small buildup of oil under my bus so I decided to check the torque on the oil plate nuts and found that one of the kept spinning. The same one also wouldn’t loosen. As I have not had time yet to get the plate off and get a proper look inside, I began doing some research and it seems that this nut/stud that keeps spinning happens to be the one that has a nut on the opposite end to keep the oil pickup tube in place. Do you have any idea as to how someone could go about replacing this exact stud? As I’m a pretty novice VW mechanic, it is to my understanding that this specific stud is longer than the rest, due to it having the nut for the pickup tube, so the general drill/tap repair wouldn’t work. Any and ALL advice is appreciated! I just wanna get my bus back on the road and I’m afraid there may be a loose nut in the strainer area, and that the leak may possibly worsen! Thank you!
I really like the beetles from this period until the facelift in '68. Are they really that expensive in the States or are you just 'jerking ma chain'. I also like the laid-back style of the videos, I have a garage (shop) where the guys are quite similar to you, always excited just keeping a car on the road. I now have also subscribed to Dubwerks' channel, we're all just going to be great friends. Just wondering what the '5150mx' stands for, the VW I can work out..
Hi Steve , still cleaning the property and moving cars off it , many , many , many cars lol. That’s what I’ve been up to . Thanks for checking in , more vids soon 👍
Huh, that's a interesting video that you guys made. 😏 But, I had the ask to tell you 5150mxVW, can you tell us where did you find this 1963 Volkswagen beetle somewhere for Dubwerks?
I bought the red 63 ragtop and the owner said he also had another 63 ragtop for sale also . It turned out to be the 63 that DubWerks tried to buy years ago .

Great video mate 👌
Very nice Very good
Dubwerks is going to do a full resto on that '63? I like the sound of that! Very tired of the "patina" scene at this stage...
Yes I have never been a fan what ever the car. Always seems like the person had given up part way through the restoration. 🤭
Make it red like Rancho ad!
Love youy guys
Awesome story. Meant to be! Congrats on the find. How much for the black '67? I'm in the market 😂😊
sweet!

That Herbie replica at the beginning needs the proper Herbie graphics.
I would've paid 100k for my child hood favourite car and i watched every single movie over 35 years ago 😢
nice job guys.
The car that started it all for me was a 63 black ragtop…
get back to your roots
What the heck, no animal fossils, no mouseage, no trees growing through the floorboards? Bummer, dudes! lol Nice looking '63 guys.
Im lost...But thats normal for Jasons vids! Todd the retired trucker.
Love a ragtop
Great video! I'm looking forward to the resto vids. Any more film on the finished Herbie there?

Sir, where’s the videos of your finished restoration of the VW you purchased?
I'm here for the Cr125 resto.
VW is rare around here where I live .. but I'm not giving up..
Good one 😁👍
Yeah, I know Herbie's are a thing but they are everywhere. Stock is his choice and I have to agree. I do love a good modified bug though.
👍
Hey that’s a nice ragtop! Thanks for the invitation to go look J and the trailer and the storage and the payments LOL

Perhaps VanHalen reference ...
Are you guys going to do the correct graphics and top color ? Love it !
Double decker Herbie.
Keep the patina

when you said 32-5 I thought you meant 3,250 not 32,500!! Is that really worth that?
Huh, that's a interesting video that you guys made. 😏 But, I had the ask to tell you 5150mxVW, can you tell us where did you find this 1963 Volkswagen beetle somewhere for Dubwerks?

I mentioned that the last 63 ragtop video since it had grey interior it needed to be made a herbie clone.. go figure..LOL
Is that the one from Alton?
So. Where is the Herbie?
