- Mitch Marners' teammates were in shock on Tuesday after learning the star player was the victim of an armed carjacking in Etobicoke. Lindsay Dunn reports.

As someone who has been robbed at knife point! I can tell you Mitch was hurt mentally and will take some time to get over this, he will have certain things that will trigger a sick feeling that will bring him back to the moment it happened. The faces and voices will haunt him. Anxiety and anger will take time to subside. I hope he recovers quickly and get's back to his normal life! Just don't tell he wasn't hurt!
Trauma
Agree. I chased home invaders out of my house and captured one briefly…and on the surface one would think that I wouldn’t be traumatized, but in fact lying in bed for years every noise in the house would bring me instantly awake and unable to sleep. Events like these are traumatizing.

I was robbed at gun point and the robbers told me to lie down in some bushes, I told them no way, If your gonna shoot me shoot me here.
They didn't, and counted myself lucky and went on with my life, no trauma, no drama.

Glad he wasn’t hurt. I’m sure they’ll be able to track down his car eventually too, but the important thing is he was not hurt. No matter what team you root for you wouldn’t want that to happen to anybody.
Absolutely zero chance the vehicle gets recovered. These are insane operations in TO and other large cities. That rig is on a boat headed for Asia

Glad to hear Mitch is OK. Scary stuff. Don't worry though Mitch, JT (PM) has your back. He's gonna get all of those hunting rifles off the street so that should take care of any future problems with carjackings and such. While he's at it, he's also removing minimum sentencing for these wonderful bandits, even if they commit repeated armed robberies. He'll have it all fixed up any day now SMH.

This is super scary because this is like my own backyard. I've been to that theatre.
I use to walk from Royal York, where I lived, to Islington at 3 am and back at 8 pm daily for work and never had an issue.
I wasn't carjacked, but I was robbed at knifepoint. They don't expect you to run.

wrong, guns are legal in Canada. But you can't use a handgun for anything other than target practice at a range. Not even allowed to take them with you hunting for protection from wildlife.
