Just stumbled upon your channel and have thoroughly enjoyed it. You have a great knowledge of fragrances and I've even found a few that I will now have to check out myself. The one fragrance that I feel would fit your parameters for masterpiece would be portrait of a lady by Fredric Malle. I really have never smelled anything quite similar the rose+clove+ raspberry with patchouli. I actually didn't like it for the longest time but continued to give it a chance and now truly appreciate it for the work of art I feel it is ( although I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea ). Great channel man!
Amazing fragrances presented by you. I fully agree with your thoughts and choices. Gucci guilty absolute and Fan your Flames by Nishane are incredible!!! And Cartier is an amazing but underrated brand. Keep going mate 👍🏽👋🏽🙋🏽
I'm so glad you mentioned Straight to Heaven in the beginning😍 Have it on now. I'm a woman and although I enjoy masculine leaning scents on men and women more yang in nature or even just in a space (e.g candles); I myself don't want to smell like a man even just to myself but this beauty is something special🥰 Wish it performed much better on me though... will still secure another sample though, lol Insightful video, thank you for sharing. Subbed 🙏🏾💖
Great list and subject, Justin. Finally I'm catching up with you content after the crazyness of the move way up north. I need to try that Roja scent. Big hugs to you, my friend!
Envy for Men by Gucci for me would be the one I think of from my collection. The best sandalwood fragrance I've ever smelled, my all time favorite fragrance, nothing is really even close to it tbh. I get that the sales aspect doesn't match up, but the critical acclaim and the uniqueness and stunning use of the sandalwood note to me makes it a masterpiece, just a shame that it's more expensive than a lot of niche fragrances now lol. I think I feel almost the same exact way that you do about Acqua di Gio Profumo, although maybe I would say that I do like it quite a bit, but I personally wouldn't exactly put it in my all time favorites list yet I respect that the DNA is very important for what it is. Dior Homme, Fahrenheit, Eau Sauvage, Le Male, Declaration and Guilty Absolute all +1 on those, those are the ones that I have from this list and I 100% agree that they're masterpieces.
JC!! Back with another amazing video!! Love the list and thanks to you and Ross for every blind buy in my collection!! This year looking to purchase 3 from Roja and 3 from Unique'e...any recommendations?

Great video Mr Copeland as always, now I know most will disagree with me but I think that Calvin Klein Eternity is a masterpiece, there was nothing like it until it came out. I also consider your fragrance Brass and Soul a total masterpiece, there is nothing else that smells like it or to my nose can compete with it.
Excellent work, as always, Justin! You might want to mention in your future videos discussing Dior Homme, "2020", and "Original" (now available in Europe and rumored to be brought to US retailers soon. I'd also like to go on record here as saying that you shouldn't shy away from mentioning your own releases as well. Regardless, again, well done, sir! 👍❤
Great list! I actually own many of these and I have to agree with most of these. I have one that I know you own, that I personally think is a masterpiece fougere scent, that is Nishane b-612. The second one that think is a masterpiece, nasomatto black afgano, third would be mfk grand soir.
The b-612 I know is fairly new still but wow. What an amazing fragrance. Fan your flames is really good too and I own them both. But b-612 took me on a new level of fougere, its modern but has that feeling like it would of been great 100 years ago and will still be great 2122. Just my own opinion I know. It seems that majority of people that own it, absolutely love it.
B-612 is awesome...but its a bold choice to call any modern fougere a masterpiece, since it is such an old and rich genre...maybe in the 2nd installment! :)
@@stayfreshproductions I know it's a bold Statement, I didn't really think many would agree with me. But its done so incredibly well. I have been obsessed with it this winter. So my apologies 🙏. Hahaha
Hi JC. im not sure but perhaps there is really some similarity between le male and reflection man but would it be alright if its le male or fleur de male. Just asking but id take your word for it. I just cant see how a lavender, vanilla and mint based scent can smell like the white floral and sandalwood of reflection man :) From this awesome list i agree with all of them but ill pick my 3 faves: its ganymede (which you influenced me to buy from the list), a midsummer's dream and reflection man. Keep it up. Happy new year, mr. Copeland! :)
@@stayfreshproductions oh my God. Thats not what im aiming for. Haha. You know im a fresh squad member so id love to confirm the information from you. However, your explanation for reflection man on white florals should be enough to stop the foolishness that people are comparing reflection man to something like le male.
If I were to pick one fragrance as a masterpiece it would be HM EDP by Hanae Mori. One of my favorite scents as a young man was Leau D'issey. HM took that Aromatic DNA and added a delectable gourmand base that doesn't detract or hinder it's fresh nature. No it hadn't made Shockwaves in the commercial market but there are many fragrance aficionados that also consider it a timeless classic.
Hey Justin! Loved the video. A question popped up into my mind however while watching. What is your take/experience with more vintage style fragrances. I’ve been watching your channel for a few years now and feel as if you have never mentioned anything made before the ‘80s. Have you ever tried some of the older Guerlains, Chanels, Penhaligons, etc.? I was just curious after I made that observation.
Hey Andrew! Thank you. I did mentioned Dior Eau Sauvage from 1966 in this video, but I haven’t mentioned many others from before the 80s because I haven’t encountered them outside of a few decants over the years.
@@dondyhr no denying that! But as I said at the beginning, if it’s not here, it’s because I don’t have it and/or I haven’t smelled it. And plus, there was only primary 20 slots 😜. I am missing a LOT of other great fragrances here. If I continue the series, perhaps they’ll make it in if I can get them.
I read a hip-hop magazine called 'Fresh!' when I was a kid and your use of the word instantly gave me a random flashback. Gosh, I'd completely forgotten this random childhood detail. :D Whenever I read the words 'Tuscan Leather' all I can associate with it is the infamous 'cocaine' anecdote; that the company actively encouraged the spread of the cult-like rumour that it contains an intentional 'cocaine note' and that the fragrance itself smells just like a line of cocaine. People still go up to the Tom Ford counter and flat out request to be show "the cocaine one." Oh my! All leather accords are not created equal, clearly, ahaaa! To me Tuscan Leather reminds me of FRESH out of the factory sofas,THAT sort of gluey, phenolic, leather smell...a cavernous showroom of lounge room furniture for working class folks is what is instantly projected on my mind's eye when I hoover up a line of Tuscan Leather. It's not my kind of leather fragrance. I love a great leather accord but am very particular about leather-forward fragrances and the kind of olfactory 'cushions' (companion notes in a blend) that decorate it. I wonder what makes some people prefer one type of leather smell to another? What's in their memory vaults, what are their aspirations? What kind of actual leather in real life do they love and emotionally speaking, why? I think I have to launch a formal enquiry and randomly probe people who love the smell of leather. This could be most illuminating...and socially damaging ("oh no, quick hide, there's that weird chick who asks everybody about the smell of leather...she must be a deviant into S & M or something far worse, something unspeakable that's only available on the Japanese black market.") . :D PS= Marc Antoine Barrois's B683, like Ganymede-- excellent.
What up J Copeland? Dope list. I would add Bleu De Chanel, Amber Gold Euphoria men, Sab'Ha Wa Oud, Mont Blanc Individuel and Field Notes From Paris. Peace.
I am so curious about Joop and other longstanding brands like Cacharel. They seem to have been around for a long time but aren't exactly "hot". How do you think these fragrances would be received in today's market?
I think they're still technically on the market so they are being "received" as we speak! And I think they are exactly what you said--still worn by some, but not "hot".
I wouldn't dare to be able to tell a masterpiece, but my choices would be: Kiton - Men, Creed - Green Irish Tweed, Boss - Soul, Burberry - Brit, Hèrmes - Jardin sur le Mediterrané, Tom Ford - Tobacco Vanille, Tom Ford - Rose Chinois, Creed -Aventus for Women, Montale - Pure Gold
Chanel Pour Monsieur (1955) which was the first men's fragrance made by chanel... A beautiful chypre with lemon and ginger up top and cedar and oakmoss in the base... Still gorgeous today, though that edt isn't sold in the states... (Never was so far as I know)... Europe and Asia and possibly south America (and don't be tricked by the Cologne Concentrée or Eau de Parfum... COMPLETELY different - nice fougère....)
On Gucci Guilty Absolute, Bvlgari released Terra Essence that kind of cross that idea with TdH. It still has it's own direction but you can kind of see a hybrid of those two.
Heya Buddy.. 😀👋🏻 Nice videos as always.. Masterpiece huh? 🤔 As for me, I really like Babylon by House Of Penhaligon’s, Angel Share by House of Kilian, Triumph Of Bacchus, Brivido Della Caccia & Bacio Immortale by Argos, Tuxedo by Yves Saint Laurent & Feve Delicieuse by Dior.. These are my favourite masterpiece fragrances because I really2 enjoyed wearing it & I feel good bout my self when I wearing it.. 🥰 (Kudos tu you Buddy because you introduced me the Argos perfumes.. I really2 enjoyed it.. 😍👍🏻) # Activist by Body Shop that I really liked, it’s been discontinued long time ago.. (The only perfume that I wear then.. But since I found your channel, you gave me inspiration to try a lot of high end perfumes.. It’s really great.. Thank you so much Buddy.. 🥰👍🏻
1 YSL M7 absolu yes its a reformulation but its still a masterpiece . The first designer oud on the western market , it was ground breaking and it still great today . I have had great positive reactions with it. If you want a signature scent and if you want something chick and classy you cant go wrong with this .
What do you think Miles Davis did wear in his days ? or what kind of fragrance would've suited him best? - Lovely Vid as always! greetings from germany
Awesome list! I knew Aventus and Green Irish Tweed would be on it, deservedly. GIT is timeless for sure, as opposed to Bois du Portugal, which smells undoubtedly dated.
Thanks for the upload, Justin, it is dope! I take it you are not a big fun of Initio frags ‘cause that would be the only reason as to why you never put OFG on the list :)
Hey Justin, great list as usual. I have to disagree with DG The One being pioneer fragrance. It was highly inspired by Vera Wang for men that I wear a lot years before DG and get tired of. Hence never get interested with DG and understood its hype. Greetings!
Oh no, J. C. (😀), it's not fair! AVENTUS Clone in the list of TIMELESS MASTERPIECES, instead of AVENTUS!? Please, I beg to disagree, J. C., I will read that as just AVENTUS! Honestly there was nothing like Aventus before Aventus. I have Hermes Un Jardin Sui Le Tuit, like its SUI LE NIL counterpart, super unique, but a pear bomb. Very beautiful and very unique. This video is very important to me, J. C. Great video. Thanks again.👍
Great list but as far as timeless masterpieces go you have to add La Nuit de l'homme and I feel as though Gucci Envy should be on the list. I don't like Bleu de chanel but I can honestly see the impact it had on the community! Most people think it's fantastic.
I don’t personally like Aventus, but its wild to think of its influence. Like excluding the straight clones. How many were takes on Aventus with tweaking notes as a 2nd generation. Then how many took the premise or some of the notes of Aventus then made something new as like a 3rd generation of the Aventus family.
I went back to buy a second bottle of Akro Smoke and it was sold out....The US store anyway! Man i am glad i got one 100 ml...Whooosshhh....I am going to go Ga Ga Over this stuff i just no it....Excited as hell..
I really like this more objective take looking at things from a dispassionate perspective. For example Gucci Guilty Absolute is a masterpiece in the designer world but I hate it loool.

PS= Marc Antoine Barrois's B683, like Ganymede-- excellent.
Oud wood is my favorite Tom Ford!
Thanks for reminding me that I should get Guerlain L'homme Ideal EDT
What an interesting watch. Your content is unique. I’d include Versace The Dreamer in this list.
Thank you. Need to revisit that one.
Great list. Dior Homme I was like he tripping where is it lol. Much love bro appreciate the vids
Haha. Thank you
Curious to know if you’ve tried Dior Ambre Nuit and what your (and Grace’s) take on it is if you have.
I’ve only ever smelled clones of it, still gotta try the real thing. Thank you! All the best.
according to jeremy fragrance ambre nuit was made by tom ford... lol
@@jonathanritchey2440 One of the most cringey videos of all time.
What up J Copeland? Dope list. I would add Bleu De Chanel, Amber Gold Euphoria men, Sab'Ha Wa Oud, Mont Blanc Individuel and Field Notes From Paris. Peace.
Great choices Carlton!
A fellow fragrance lover and trumpet player!
This is literally one of the best lists I've seen. Only things I would add is beach hut man
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I love Beach Hut!
@@stayfreshproductions Quality isn't it! So rounded. So unique. So finished/complete
Ormande Jayne Man!!!
Question: Do you think B683 & Ganymede from the same house, smell very close? I have B683, and it was hard deciding.
They are similar.
Your video is a Masterpiece, Thank You!!
Thank you!!
# Activist by Body Shop that I really liked, it’s been discontinued long time ago.. (The only perfume that I wear then.. But since I found your channel, you gave me inspiration to try a lot of high end perfumes.. It’s really great.. Thank you so much Buddy.. 🥰👍🏻
I still need to try Babylon!
@@stayfreshproductions You should try it Buddy.. It’s really good.. You will love it.. 🥰👍🏻
I consider musc ravageur from the house of Frederic Malle a timeless masterpiece 👌🏾. Have you tired it or any fragrance from that house
I've tried only a few!
Bleu de chanel and Sweetie Aoud could've been here too. BDC started a new trend, and SA is most likely the most unique gourmand ever made
1 YSL M7 absolu yes its a reformulation but its still a masterpiece . The first designer oud on the western market , it was ground breaking and it still great today . I have had great positive reactions with it. If you want a signature scent and if you want something chick and classy you cant go wrong with this .
Always a a experience brother ✌🏾💞🙏🏽
What do you think Miles Davis did wear in his days ? or what kind of fragrance would've suited him best? - Lovely Vid as always! greetings from germany
I'm very curious about that. Thank you my friend
Awesome list! I knew Aventus and Green Irish Tweed would be on it, deservedly. GIT is timeless for sure, as opposed to Bois du Portugal, which smells undoubtedly dated.
Thank you! I love BdP, don't own it.
Happy New Year Justin
happy New Year Justin!
No Aramis,Now with that 1 free hand give the other hand a slap.
Great review by the way. 👍
Lowkey highkey a good list. My top 1 masterpiece following your criteria has to be Shalimar.
great choice!
Thanks for the upload, Justin, it is dope! I take it you are not a big fun of Initio frags ‘cause that would be the only reason as to why you never put OFG on the list :)
Thank you Den! I have Side Effect and it's nice. OFG smells too much like BR540 to me 😆
Great choices!
Thank you!
Hey Justin, great list as usual. I have to disagree with DG The One being pioneer fragrance. It was highly inspired by Vera Wang for men that I wear a lot years before DG and get tired of. Hence never get interested with DG and understood its hype. Greetings!
Vera Wang man reminds me of a cross between the one and Obsession, I actually think it is better than the one which is overatted in my opinion.
Justin, Is Roja midsummer dream a masculine fragrance or unisex?
Unisex!
Issey miyake L'eau D'issey & D&G The 1 EDP is what I'm familiar with and agree on their impact to the game! I wish they lasted longer though!
As always 🎷🔥🔥 Reflection Man is a BANGER I just hate the performance 😫 STAY FRESH PRODUCTIONS 💪🏿💪🏿 "THUMBS UP"🥊🔔
To me a timeless classic fragrance was Gucci Envy For Men. Such a shame it was discontinued by Tom Ford....😭
I think Bleu de Chanel could have been in a list like this. Just my opinion.
Oh no, J.
Aventus is in the video! It’s not instead of Aventus! I just took it as an opportunity to present a related fragrance.
Fantastic intro and video
Thank you!
My timeless scent is Chanel no. 22 Eau de Parfum from the Les Exclusif Collection. Masterpiece💥✨🎇♥️
Timeless!
black orchid
My timeless classic now that I'm a bit older is mdci chypre palatin as well as dior homme parfum , and lair du desert morrocain.
I still need to try Chypre Palatin, and the Tauer would definitely make a spot in this series. Need to get it.
@@stayfreshproductions definitely try it. I'd say it would be one you would love.
Fan your Flames!!!
Justin is there a reason why u dont have Tobacco Vanille ? Is it becuase you dont like it or is there another reason ? :)
It’s because it is almost impossible to find discounted right now, and has been for months.
I cant stand Terre d' Hermes lol. I knew it would be on this list somewhere. it just blows my mind that so many people love it so much.
I felt the same way for years, and now I love it.
Great list but as far as timeless masterpieces go you have to add La Nuit de l'homme and I feel as though Gucci Envy should be on the list. I don't like Bleu de chanel but I can honestly see the impact it had on the community! Most people think it's fantastic.
I only have 1 bottle of cologne but I plan on buying more.
Do you enjoy Joop Homme? Also what do you think about YSL's Kouros?
Joop is ok, Kouros is not my favorite
Bleu De Channel
Absolutely a masterpiece
Nice video.. kudos!
Thank you!
Of course number 1 would be from the house of Roja Parfums. Roja Dove is a master perfumer. The GOAT in my opinion.
Thank you Ramone!
Tom Ford Oud Wood to me is a very elegant sent I would add one other of his Tobacco OUD
I love Tobacco Oud.
Gr8 history in here for the newbies!!
Thanks for watching!
@@stayfreshproductions Always brother!!!!!💪🤞❤
