    Lyrics:
    Whoa
    Whoa
    Whoa
    Whoa
Where we went swimming after Sunday school
Learned how to make break and bend the rules
Skipping class n ’slate rock n ’getting stoned
Not knowing any better’s all we’ve ever known
Calico Creek runs deep through the holler and the hills
Washes our sins clean as it feeds them ol ’copper-made stills
Word has a way of getting around
And every year some kid’ll drown in Calico Creek
    Ooo
    Ooo
    Ooo
    Ooo
A little town where the old dogs turn mean
Full of pesticides and cans of kerosene
Where a stray cat can feel right at home
Not knowing any better’s all we’ve ever known
Calico Creek runs deep through the holler and the hills
Washes our sins clean as it feeds them ol ’copper-made stills
We’re getting by on an empty tank
Found ourselves getting lost on the bank of Calico Creek
    Calico Creek
    (Hey!)
    (Hey!)
Where the rope swings are rotten
    Had our toes touching bottom
It’ll be dry by July but if you walk down the sides we can find some Rapalas
Ey oh ey oh…ey oh ey oh
Ey oh ey oh… ey oh ey oh
    Ey oh ey oh …
    (Hey!)
    (Hey!)
    (Hey!)
Calico Creek runs deep through the holler and the hills
Washes our sins clean as it feeds them ol ’copper made stills
    (Hey!)
    (Hey!)
    Calico Creek
    (Hey!)
    (Hey!)
    Calico Creek
    (Hey!)
    (Hey!)
    Calico Creek
    (Hey!)
    (Hey!)
    Calico Creek

Every once in a while an artist comes along and turns your world on its head. This man is crazy talented and I’m excited for that day in the future when I will be able to say I was hooked on his music before he was a star.

The crazy thing is that it is 2 years old. I just found it a few months ago too. How has this album been floating around for so long unnoticed?

Same here. I discovered him because my son who was 15 at the time, 18 now, introduced me to his music. It was 3 years ago before he had even 10,000 views on his best songs. I knew the minute I seen his acoustic video of his song 'Billy' , that i was witnessing something I've never seen before..... and I've spent hours showing his material to possibly anyone that will give me 5 to 10 mins to show them.. now my entire family watches and listens to him regularly. Even though listening is soothing to the ears, I personally believe dude is best represented through his acoustic versions/videos of all his songs. Watching him play adds an entire element to his music that shows his obvious gifts. Love it all.

1000%. My sister turned me on to him back in December and we went to see him a few weeks ago open for Brothers Osborne. Going to see him again in a couple weeks for a headlining show and I'm absolutely beside myself.
He's doing something pretty special. "Turns your world on its head" is exactly right. I haven't felt this way about new (to me) music in a LONG time.

November 13, 2018: the day the best part of me died. Nobody could convince me to hang in there like my dad. This is a shot to the heart. Hauntingly beautiful. Thank you Stephen. ❤

How the hell is this song not on every radio station East of the Mississippi? This is modern country, although maybe too early it's right on time for me.

This entire album is so good, this song probably isn’t the first one to pop up when you want to hear some SW Jr. But when he and the boys played this one when I went to see him in Nashville, I fell in love with it… cuts straight into my soul with some powerful nostalgia. LOVE IT!!

He is a phenomenal performer. This song reminds me of creek stomping with my daughters in central Indiana. We used to do and see exactly what this song is about.
