    Do you ever use analog compressors like the Behringer UV1?

    • @thatcostasound
      @thatcostasound  5 месяцев назад +1

      Not Behringer specifically… But yes, I do use analog compressors. LA 2A, 1176, Tube Tech, SSL… It really depends on what I’m compressing and how I want it to feel.

    Thanks for the informative video brotha. Are u familiar with the compressor on the Analog Heat? Do you have any thoughts on it? Imma go ahead and sub now!

      Thanks for watching! 🙏🏽 Yeah that thing is really versatile. Takes it a little step further than just compression. Besides the compression types, there’s EQ, Saturation, EFX. You can actually do a lot to the signal.

      @@thatcostasound agreed. do you like the compressor on it? and would you say its best used as a bus mastering type or better used for front end of synths and stuff? or general purpose? My terminology probably isnt the best. Im a relative newb. Thanks for the response.

      @@sawssman965 Overall I would say it’s general purpose but I think you’ll find yourself using it on bus processing rather than individual channels.

    When need synths compression?

    • @thatcostasound
      @thatcostasound  3 месяца назад

      Well compression is mainly for controlling dynamics but it can also make something sound more aggressive depending how it’s used. I actually put a maximizer on synths a lot of the time, since limiting is another form of compression. A maximizer can also adds a little color and get the synth to pop out the track.

      Thank you. Which are advisable hardware maximazers for synths?

    • @thatcostasound
      @thatcostasound  19 дней назад

      @@kisho2679I usually do this in the box. Waves has the L3 I like to use for synths.

    If you know how to use a synth then you know how to use a compressor, ADSR. If the compressor doesn’t have attack or release then it’s a color box/leveler, if it does then you are shaping the sound.
