Here's an idea, trap the spawn platform in the end. You aren't going to need it, and you can take care of them quickly if you have a large enough lead. For example, covering it in lava would at least damage them as they come in and may even take them out.
How do you want to cover it in lava? Doesn’t it clear everything on/around the spawn platform every time someone comes through?
The way to win is killing the dragon not going to the portal big nose

Jerome thank you for the manhunt videos! I've had minecraft for 3 years but I've never beaten the ender dragon, barely even traversed the nether. Your videos have helped teach me in getting a full set of iron, building a nether portal and knowing what to look for once I enter.
I haven't gotten through the nether much (still dying to ghasts) but I've gone further than I ever could before.
