Why wasn’t Chewbacca in the pilot’s chair; piloting the millennium falcon; when Han, and Luke did the dog fight scene? In first Star Wars. The video said force awakens was the first time Chewbacca got to pilot the craft. So I looked back at footage of the Star Wars dog fight scene. And Princess Leia was in the pilot’s chair.
My guess is that, just like a real life large aircraft, it can be flown from either the pilot or co-pilot seat. So he didn't need to sit in Han's seat to fly it during that scene. Also, that scene starts with Han seated in the pilot seat and Chewie in the co-pilot seat. Han only leaves when the TIEs start attacking and him and Luke run to man the turrets. Since he could fly from the co-pilot position, there would be no reason for Chewie to switch chairs, especially in a tense emergency situation like that.

“Use the force, Luke”

Spot on then
Gotta love a slightly posh Geordie nerd.
I am one myself.
That's fine with me thankyou so much anyway

Big time then 😊
Him:This sound design is so cool
Me: can i hear?
Him:
NICE CATCH on the left-handed Stormtrooper guns!
Their aim now makes sense. Even as trained soldiers, they're right handed and are being forced to fire their weapons lefty.
YOU MISSED A COUPLE OF THINGS:
The tie fighter engine sound was used as a space dragon roar in an old b/w episode of Lost in space
and pause this at 37:26 where han picks up his blaster
what is on the ground right next to his blaster?!
🤔😂
