  • Becoming a skydiver | Spinning out of control | Freefall course demonstration
    All classes are taken at AerOhio, it's Ohio's #1 Skydiving center. As opposed to our last video on line twist, in this one we practiced spinning out of control. These set of classes really prepare you for how to react when things go wrong. However, if you're well prepared and can really understand how to get your body balanced in a nice arch -- you'll be set.
    www.aerohio.com/
    CANOPY FIRST - REAR RISERS
    • correct minor canopy problems (line twist, slider, end cells) using rear risers with brakes set
    • find landing area, holding area and pattern entry point
    • if altitude and position permit, do rear riser turns with brakes set
    • release brakes, conduct controllability check and steer toward the holding area again
    • if altitude and position permit, do rear riser turns with brakes released
    • return to normal controls by 2.000ft
    FREEFALL DIVE FLOW: 90 DEGREE TURNS
    • exit in a strong arch
    • check altitude
    • practice touch (optional)
    • find a heading on the horizon
    • start a turn and stop at 90 degrees
    • initiate no turns below 6.000ft

    Happend to me during my AFF and looked exactly like that. Instead of doing a 90° I did 720° and would keep on spinning if my instructor didn´t catch me.
    The next jump was way better even if I was scared as hell.

    4 weeks ago I did my second jump. Two instructors jumped out with me. Went upside down and lost one of them. We then went into this absurd spin flipping thing. I lost the other instructor. I pulled and then my lines tangled. I stayed collected and fixed it. I jumped again that day and it went better. Next jump coming up in a few days. Gotta admit I’m really nervous but that’s why I’m doing it.

    I could be wrong. But it looked liked moving her left hand inward caught the air and made her spin. I would of moved my right hand inward to try spinning back the other way. I’ve only been on 2 jumps and I loved spinning. I personally asked to spin for the adrenaline. Going for a course very soon :)

      @@Wemissyoutroy holy fuck.. never pull low. Even you're Spinning Like a fidget, pull at your alt. I honestly don't really know what I did. I arched as hard as a Instagram chick in front of her mirror. I tried to concentrate on symmetry. U only spun because your not symmetric. So: arch, symmetry, and you should decelerate the spin. Then carefully steer against it. And breeeeeaaaathe. Every time I wobbled around and I was unstable I managed to become stable as a pro just by relaxing My body. So the wind won't move your whole body, only your legs and arms a bit

    What is the best way to stop a fast spinning out of control?

    • @SKYextrm

      The best way to stop any type of unintentional motion, is to relax and find your neutral, arch position.

    • @SKYextrm
      @SKYextrm  11 месяцев назад +1

      It happens, two things: relax and breathe, you 100% heard it from your instructors. And if you have any chance to try a wind tunnel I highly recommend it ( it helped my wife to stay stable ). If not just keep practicing it's going to come naturally.

    I often see videos like this and think, do people not spend any time in the wind tunnel before jumping? Or is jumping from a plane different from the tunnel in some way

    • @SKYextrm

    • @nicolasalmeida7523
      @nicolasalmeida7523 Год назад

      It never happened to me to spin out of control, but technically if you are spinning to one side you gotta compensate to the other side. If you relax it should be easy to do, the problem is if you get anxious I would say

    What causes the spin ?

    • @SKYextrm
      @SKYextrm  3 года назад +1

      Wrong body position. Specifically, the legs in this video.

    • @SKYextrm
      @SKYextrm  2 года назад +4

      @Meshpaint Yes, her legs and hips were not symmetrical, causing her to spin. Looking at the video, you'll see that one hip is lower and one leg is reaching. The body will stay stable if everything has balance. She was able to recognize this after a few jumps (and debriefing), and this issue went away when she relaxed!

      @@SKYextrm what do you do then if you're body is not symetrical? Just standing up i can see that my feet don't point in the same direction with hip rotation. To me it feels like I'm holding it even but it isn't

    • @SKYextrm
      @SKYextrm  Год назад +1

      @@AdonisGaming93 nobody is 100% symmetrical, camera person and instructor at the same time can help you figure out what went wrong and fix those mistakes. For example if one knee lower than other its causing spinning, after watching a video instructor will tell you put opposite knee more down on the next jump. That’s how we learn to keep our bodies stable up in the air.
