Viewing angles on the Asus TUF VG27AQ3A monitor

- Due to some glow effect there is a slight gray dimming when changing the viewing angle, the image is not distorted, which is typical for IPS matrices. If you look directly at the screen, there is also a slight dimming at the bottom and top edges of the screen. I believe this effect is enhanced by the matte coating of the display. If you don't pay attention, it's not noticeable at all.
I came here from your post in reddit 💫
Thank you for the video.
May I know what is the difference between VG27AQ3A and VG27AC1A?
I am struggling in these two monitors. Any recommendations if I am going for fps gaming. Thanks!
From the comparisons I've found, these two monitors are virtually identical. But the VG27AC1A has 1 USB 3.1 port and 1 Type-C port. Also, the VG27AC1A has a 10Hz slower display. And that's it:) You can buy any of these monitors, I think you will be satisfied. But if possible, I always recommend comparing monitors in the store before buying. Did you have any dead pixels on it? Any defects overall?
It's good but isn't it a little too dimmed/dull in a bright room ?
Both in a bright room and in dim brightness the monitor is quite enough to use. I use the monitor at 47 percent brightness and 76 percent contrast, I am comfortable. In general, if you play you can turn the brightness up to 70-80 without any problems. Of course, it's not an HDR experience with 400-600+ nits but for everyday use it's enough.
@@eluiden thank you for your response. Mind to share your calibrated settings? Thank you
@@doggydoggy578 You can see my settings in a post on reddit: www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/1655gql/review_on_asus_tuf_gaming_vg27aq3a/
@@eluidenone more question please, I notice that white doesn't feel like true white in this monitor, its like a yellowish layer is applied onto it. I did everything i can from manually calibrating the R B G values to selecting the "Cool" temperature. Do you know why ?
@@doggydoggy578 Very strange, I have the white color displayed correctly, I compared on two monitors. Perhaps am should reduce the value for R and G, try to reduce the values in increments of 1-4, for example: R 92, G 95, B 100. while B can be left at 100. If nothing helps and white color will still be yellow, then probably it is some matrix defect. Or I'm just not so sensitive to colors 😄
I have ROG Strix XG249CM same issue is this normal?
My first IPS monitor btw. I used TN panels my whole life.
hi does this monitor has vrr feature?
Yes, this monitor supports G-SYNC, FreeSync Premium and ELMB sync.
do you recommand thi monitor? i want to buy it for 1440p gaming pc
Been using it for 4 days now, I'm quite happy with it. For gaming, it's a great monitor with a bright and colorful display. If you want to work with color, I would recommend monitors with sRGB 100% coverage. This monitor has 130% and it's perfect for games. I didn't see any dead pixels when looking at it in detail, only 1 barely noticeable stuck blue pixel, literally 0.1-0.05 mm in size. Every time I have to spend about 40 seconds to find it again, aha. This is normal for this resolution, such pixels usually disappear on their own. Otherwise for this money the monitor is excellent, with a good and fast IPS panel at 180Hz.
@@eluiden thank you for the quick response and your explanation is very good and useful for me.
@@eluidenthank you so much mate , i am going to pull trigger on it 👍
@@ARSONIST0010 dont.....
@@doggydoggy578 i bought dell 2k 27sndg somthing like that 😅
I see nothing in this video. Maybe was better to show a white image...
thanks for the video
I am confused between the VG27AQ3A asus and the Samsung G5 Odyssey 27 inch LS27AG550EMXU, what do you recommend for me?
i am using it for xbox series s and for a rtx 3050 4GB asus tuf laptop to get more fps on it
Dont buy the VG27AQ3A its way too dim
Thanks for the Video. Looking at the pictures from Asus it looks like the VG27AQ3A got a smaller bezel versus the VG27AQL3A. Maybe you are able to confim? Thanks!
Can you try it on a ps5 if it’s support the vrr on it or not ?
Looks dope
do you rec this monitor or a monitor with va panel for movie watching and little gaming?
I record VG27AQ3A, I use it for graphics work, gaming, etc. It's just as comfortable to watch any movies on it, the glow in real life is hardly noticeable. I use my old monitor with VA panel as an auxiliary monitor for tracking TradingView and watching videos in the background when I play games on my main VG27AQ3A for example.
Does it work on Sony 5 at 2k and 120hz?
For all intents and purposes, yes, it should definitely work. After all, this monitor supports the latest version of HDMI, which displays 120hz at 1440p without any problems.
Homie you can literally see that this monitor is so dim that even in a completely dark room the screen is barely bright enough to see. What brightness is this ? Max ?
As far as I can remember, I used medium brightness when recording this video.
