As Olivia Jordan said, the top16 were not entirely based on performances in the prelims(interview, gown, swimsuit) but the bioadata/resumé of each candidate is taken into consideration whether or not the girls were actively involved(long enough or have already contributed to the society for year/s) in their social works or advocacies.
Such a lovely interview. I admitted that I was so mad that my country didn't make it to top16 but after watching this interview I do believe that they have a very strong process deciding women to get into the cut and for many countries that don't get placed for a long time, it's must be wonderful for them. Hopefully in the next year we as a audience will understand and know just briefly about the criteria that they judge the girls because I feel like this year's judging system was only about the closed door interview and preliminary performances but they don't consider for what the girls did around 10 days before that at all. Ms. Universe RBonney Gabriel is beautiful inside out. Very genuine, smart and well spoken. She speaks with her heart and sincerity, she speaks with substance, she speaks life... She has that "X factor" no other contestant has. Above all, being able to rise above the negative circumstances during the ms usa, joining the ms universe pageant all on her own, without the support of ms usa org. as the org is still under troubled water. She proved herself worthy of the crown, not just a beautiful woman, but a strong woman who can represent the universe.
R’Bonney had the best answer with very specific examples and also tied in the concept of supporting the community. Not to mention, she’s older and had less time to prepare and less experience. It’s called having wisdom from life experience. I’ve listened to her speak after winning, and she answers lots of complex questions eloquently and without hesitation. That is beautifully confident.
As a Thai am incredibly proud of Khun Anne Jakrapong. What a great example of a transformational leader. She has risen to this position through a lot of hard work, endurance and resilience coming from quite a limited background herself. Her life story is amazing and look forward to seeing bigger and greater things with Miss Universe going forward. For this year's contest, the final 16 was a disappointment to many but I'm happy R'Bonney from the USA won, she earned it and worked hard all her life as well to reach this stage.
