I have two shih tzu's that I am just starting to learn how to groom. What size snap on comb would you recommend to do the head using an Andis Ultra edge clipper?
I have to tell you this. I just took my Maltese 1 year old to the vet for shots. She’s never been to a groomer. I bought the tools, watched your videos, and did her myself. Today, my vet said that my groomer was doing a good job! Lol

How do I know what number my blade is? I bought oneisall clippers from Amazon. It also comes with six snap on blades. Of course it says it is a professional pet electric clipper. I’m not having a lot of luck, clipping my mini-golden doodle. I’m not sure what you mean by the blade number.
I have a miniature schnauzer. I purchased the Wahl KM5 it came with the 7F blade. What additional blades should I purchase, I would like to use a comb attachment for the skirt. Appreciate your help!!
Great video!! I don’t see info on the vacuum hose you keep on the end of your clippers...do you have a link to the product?? Does it hook to a vacuum/bin??
@@groomsbyjeanine9064 I noticed that Oster really stepped up their game when it comes to snap on combs..I plan to check them out at Hershey Groom Expo and bring them home to demo and share here on RUclips:) Hope to bump into you at Hershey, It's a great show!
Hi Amy, I get how to get the combs on the blade. My question is which comb to use to achieve which length of hair. I have a full set of the Oster Combs and have had trouble deciding which comb length to use on my Miniature Schnauzer's leg furnishings. I would image I would use two sizes, one for the leg and the other for around the foot area. Can you explain how to read the measurement. Also, I just got my KM10 (berry color) clippers that I'll be using instead of my old Oster A5 clipper bought back in the 90's. They still work. I took really good care of them. They will serve as a back up. Thank you If you have done a video on this subject, just point me in the right direction.
We have a 10 month old Golden Doodle. Recently bought a set of Wahl guide combs for our new KM10 Wahl clipper and they don't fit. You show a KM10 clipper with the stock #10 blade using clip on combs. Can you tell me the part number of the set you use?

Ok so do the snap-on combs affect which blade I can use on my dog’s body? In a previous video you mentioned not using a 10 on the body because it can cause irritation. However, if I use a 10 with a longer snap-on comb, is that ok? I have a mini schnauzer
I always did my poodle years ago and my pug a poo. Now I have a chipoo, she has wispy fur, parties short and part grows longer and thin. And she's timid.
When I was about to buy these snap on combs online, they are called "Moser snap on combs". But they look identical to Wahl, with same ABCD 1234 in the box. I called the company that said "it is Moser, model Wahl". Is this the same and some name changing has happened recently?
If I wanted to give my dog a cut that leaves 1/4 inch of fur left on his body I would use a 5/5f blade correct? And if I wanted to use a clipper guard for that same length (1/4 inch) would I use a #2 guard? If so, which blade number would I put the #2 guard on?
Go Groomer thank you!! I know this maybe a complicated question but is their also a thinning sheer you recommend for grooming a non- shedding breed other than a 40 tooth? All I have is a 40 tooth and I come from just retriever and am trying to learn combs and other tools I need to start practicing. My first client is A Portuguese water dog I am allowed to practice on. And I am confused about what tools I need. I have my Andis 2 speed clippers with a 10 and 30 blade, gonna but the combs. My 49 tooth thinning shears, curved and straight scissors, slicker brush, high dryer. But I know their are tools needed I don’t have and just want to make sure I am putting the money in the right place for expanding my grooming. Thank you!
I read as a beginner blades with F or FC or best to used. So what’s the difference with the blade without F/FC? I have the 7F, 5FC, and 4F. Not sure if I have the correct blade.
When I use the plastic combs that came with my Wahl PRO Series Lithium Ion clipper nothing gets cut. Doesn't matter from which direction I come, nothing gets cut. Without the combs the naked blade cuts great but it's way too short. Any suggestions? This is on a mini aussie.

I want to buy a right one for my dog. I’d go with Walh and make sure I get the no. 7. What brand would you go for Labardoodle? Thanks in advance.
I've gotten mixed feedback (some very harsh) about trimming at home. I am getting a poodle puppy and would like to tackle some of the grooming on my own. Can a person really do this at home? I was told I would "traumatize" the dog if I tried.
Yes, you can do it at home with the proper equipment. Do your research first. Start working the puppy right away. By getting it use to brushing. Touch their feet a lot. That will help when I comes time to trim nails. Amy, does have a video on grooming a puppy.
what's the difference in coat of using a 1/2" comb with a #10 blade vs a #30 blade..I think I'm understanding that the comb dictates the length..is there a difference with blade size if you use the same comb size as described above? Sorry..'newbie on board' here ;-)

karin evans either 10, 30 or 15 is fine;) but just remember a #30 blade can bang against the metal snap on comb and dull both. Because the clipping action is shorter in a 30 blade. That’s why I suggest a 10 because that will not happen 😊
