Any time I have fail updates for windows 10 usually mean there’s some. Corrupted files for windows so I had to do a clean install. Clearing cmos didn’t help me.
Did you try switching drives? One weird issue with win10 is the product key gets cooked into your mobo. Try installing IoT LTSC and activating it uh "remotely" yar har.
I may pull the drive and put it on another rig and see if it updates. I really don’t want to put a fresh install on it if I don’t have to. That will be the last resort. I’ll keep you posted.

I had the same problem, and I just fixed it by using windows update assistant. I'm now updated, and all is good 👍.
