My word, what a talented gathering of accomplished musicians; tho' young, you can tell they have played together for years ! And Shaye Cohn, cornet, knows how to take a simple little tune and invite these friends to turn it into a roaring show closer !! A neat compilation .. thank you.
I really enjoy Tuba skinny! Unpretentious is a word that I heard to describe this musical group and I must agree, I would like to hear Erika Lewis featured more with prolonged solos. She has an enjoyable and unique voice.
Ah, era Orvieto! Quale sede?
Starting at about 11 mins 07 secs is an extract from 'Memphis Blues' (Handy, 1910). According to my records, it's the first time they have been seen on RUclips playing this tune.
17:26 I've heard Tuba Skinny and Erika do Bill Monroe's "Blue Moon of Kentucky" many times, but this is by far the best performance of it I've heard. You can tell Erika is really getting into the song. I wish Tuba Skinny would perform more bluegrass songs with the trad jazz treatment. My two favorite types of music. A bit of trivia: Bill Monroe is in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is the only artist to be inducted into all three.
+James Sterling I agree with you 100% it was a great performance of "Blue Moon of Kentucky"! Also their last song, "Shine on Harvest Moon" was fantastic!
I'll say a few words . . . .if you keep an eye on Mr. Lawrence you'll see him as one of the most disciplined and versatile musicians anywhere. P.S. Now hows about a few words regarding your last name? -Bob from Philly
Shaye you're great and all your musicians too. With this band the real American sound comes out. Thank you so much.

What a treat for the Amici in Orvieto. I thank God for Tuba Skinny every day. And, I have decided to take up the trombone again in my next life.

@@robertforrester578 How about him playing a Gitcho or Guitar slash Banjo. Six stringer. Sounds better i think than a true Banjo.
