This type of practice is the only way I can get a song down pat. Just the right pacing without declaring every note to match sheet music, as I learn better via patterns than notes.
Yes, it works! I've learnt the first two parts easily. I also wrote down the whole piece using my chromatic tuner, like B-E-F#-G-F# etc. Then, the following day I tried to play the tune following these notes and, alas, I couldn't remember the tune! I had to watch the video again.
I liked the format. I think sheet music is generally the easiest way to learn new songs, but in my opinion a method like this is much faster and easier, and lends more to memorization. I find when I try to memorize sheet music I'm more often trying to memorize theory aspects, where when being taught with a lesson like this I end up memorizing through muscle memory and in short segments instead. Great lesson as always Ronen, thank you!
HI. I am SO glad I found you! How do I get the sheet music for Forest Flowers? I've just signed up for 3-day free trial but TOTALLY will subscribe. Please advise. You are the best...I'm typing with my accordion on :)
Thanks for a lesson om this song, i learned the 2 first parts, but i think it would be easier to learn if you played the sections together with the base side so the music made more sense.
I like this tutorial, its all you need to learn a song on an accordion, but could you please write the bass chords that are used throughout the song? Thank you!
I think Ronen (Moshe) is assuming you have learnt the basic chords for this tune and will know when you practice which chord fits in best, kind of trial and error thing, otherwise the video would have been 3 times longer.
To me it helps a lot...i learnd the song in 15 min like you promised...
That's great to hear!!

Trying something a little different. Would love hear your feedback.

PS I am jumping in without any sheet music...like diving off a high dive...yikes! But I'm doing it.
Oh awesome! It's a big dive but so worth it 😊
One word: LISTEN.
The first thing about playing by ear is USING your ear.
As a matter of authenticity, this piece is traditionally played in G minor.
Good to know re G minor. Thanks
You didn't go over the bass part
