I Was just surfing and found a video your dad posted on a Grill guard for a Kioti which was very well done. So I said lets check out what else he has been up and saw this. It was just a few days ago that the one year anniversary of my Dads passing from throat cancer happened. Im sorry for your Loss. You spoke about how you skill set is not up to your dads, Im sure sure no matter how good or bad it may be your father would be very proud to have you finish his truck to the best of your abilities. God Bless

Joe, Gary and Scottie, please keep your pledge to your Dad and mom on finishing the truck. He will be missed here in North Carolina. I have learned a lot from him and his genius ideas. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths. Prov. 3:5-6. This verse helped me when my dad passed away, I hope it will help you..

Strength and Honor. My father died of cancer almost 6 years ago. He asked me if I wanted to finish his 54 chevy truck. I said yes. He didn't give me any instructions just said. It's yours do what you want to do. I worked on it for a while then stopped. Now I have the motivation to get it back on the road. I just found your Dads channel and following some on his tips and tricks to get my Dads truck done and back on the road. I know what your going through to get it done. I have asked my Dad to help when needed. But sure wish he was here to help.

The air just came out of my lungs...... I am so so very sorry for your loss. He was building a great truck and did a terrific job with his videos and tutorials. I have "borrowed" his idea on not only which fuel tank to use but how to mount it. It was pure genius way of doing it, and yet so simple. Steve and I did communicate a few times on IG and commented on our individual builds. The world lost a great one, I am again so very sorry for your loss. As a hot rod builder and fabricator but specialize more on the body/paint side of things I will say please ask for help or questions. I'm so happy to know this truck will be finished in his honor.

This morning I was watching another of my favorite fabricators, Musclerod shop, He was doing a flush gas cap and it reminded me of the work Steve did on his gas filler. I miss my doses of Idaho Fabricator and the interaction I had with Steve. Hope you boys are doing ok. I lost my dad when he was 73 and I parked the 37 Chev PU that we were restoring. It sat for 24 before I decided to dig it out and get back to it. I shifted gears and went from a restoration to a Resto-Mod. Still brings tears to my eyes when I think of my dad, probably does you as well. They say time heals all wounds. Maybe, but the pain doesn't ever go completely away.

I just found your dads channel while looking for videos on fuel filler modifications, and subscribed. . . then I found out he passed away. My heart felt sympathies to you and your mother.
More than your fathers fabrication skills and his ability to show the rest of us how to do the same things. . . I was struck by how much your mom and dad loved each other. After watching the fuel filler neck video, and listening to your mom and dad show such respect and affection for each other, and how he credited your mom for all the video efforts. . . hear about his passing away rocked my world.
I pray God will strengthen all of you and especially your mom, as I am sure that she is missing her husband and her best friend more than we can imagine.
Love to all of you. . .

Oh no! I had been casually watching your dad's channel because I am restoring/hot rodding the 51 GMC pickup that my great grandfather bought new. In honor of him I've named it Frank.. I got to wondering why there were no newer videos and noticed that I hadn't subscribed...so I did hoping to skip ahead and see if it was done yet or how close it was. I really have a great deal of respect for your dad seeing the way he went about things and his attention to detail. Although my build really has very few similarities, your dad's videos were helpful in inspiring me and as a reference for certain aspects of mechanical details. Just now hearing of your loss has me a little choked up because even though I've never met him I feel like I've lost a friend... I'm about the same age as your dad and share a love of metal fabrication and the tools involved with it. I wish to you and your brother the best of luck in finishing his truck and hope it is a blessing to you all in the process... a special time of brothers bonding and remembering all the good times with your father.. I would be honored to be brought along during the process via RUclips if you choose to film your experiences...but if you want to keep things private I totally understand... I have a lot of professional experience with body work and metal fabrication and would be more than happy to give any advice should you need it.. I am very sorry for your loss. Jeff

Roughly a year and a half ago I stumbled across this guy on youtube who was rebuilding the same year Chevy truck as mine. The more I watched, the more I realized we had similar interests. He was an old guy like me, only 4 years my senior. He also appeared to be very, VERY good at what he was doing. I, unfortunately, don't have anywhere near the same skills as he had. But I watched every episode on his channel and couldn't wait for the next one to come out. I enjoyed the way he spoke, not coming across as a know-it-all whose way was the only way. Obviously, I'm talking about your dad, Steven. I have learned so much from his videos and intend to use as much of the information he provided as I can in working on my truck. I'm way behind where his truck is now, having just gotten down to an almost bare frame. I will undoubtedly be using the Idaho Fabricator as excellent reference material.
This is difficult for me even though I never met your dad, never even communicated with him, which I regret. But I felt as if I had a kindred spirit in him. At least I am sure he is now with God and watching you boys with great pride as you take on the task of completing his truck. I will be avidly following the build as I continue to work on mine. God bless you boys and your Mom, Sally. Thank you Steven.
I anxiously look forward to your next video.

I started watching your dads channel a while back to get ideas and the courage to pick up where my dad left off on his 52' Chevy after he passed. I know the feeling, I also know that continuing the build in his name is the best thing I have ever started or done. You guys will make it happen. Its the Hot-rodder way.

So it’s been a while since I checked in but so very sad to hear of your Dads passing. He has helped myself and my sons on our 49 project so incredibly much. It’s inspiring to know you will be carrying on the finish of this project in his honor. Best wishes and RIP.

It is a sad day for me to hear that heart breaking news, how you grow to love someone you don't even know. I have come across many that I don't see any more and it makes me wonder. Just my comment, but it seems as if the good brothers or sisters leave us too soon. SORRY FOR OUR LOSS. May God continue to bless the family.

I’m so sorry for your loss, I’m working on a 54 that I’ve had for 20 years, with life, work, commitment’s, children and so on
It had to wait I started on it when I retired. I stumbled on your dads channel one day and was a follower ever since. I have
Used many of his ideas, I don’t mean to ramble on.. your dad came across as a very kind, gentle, humble man a simple man
As they say. Seemed to really want to share and help anyone he could. So his family is in my prayers 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I know it’s hard to see now but there will be better days to come. God bless and look forward to seeing his dream come to life..

I'm so sorry. I found your Dad's channel as I started to build my 1948 Chevy truck, and I have stolen so many good ideas from him and his meticulous fabricating. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and as bittersweet as it is, I'm excited to see you two finish her.
