"[Caleb] Williams is a fabulous playmaker, and there are 'wow' throws all over his tape, even going back to his freshman season . . . He's incredible escaping the pocket and making off-platform throws, excelling when plays break down. His improvisational skills are off the charts -- it's incredible how he can make the first defender miss and create first downs out of thin air. He has great field vision and throws dimes to receivers while under duress. He's incredibly creative, which is not something we can usually say . . . ." Mel Kiper, Jr., January 2024.
Why does everything have to be a comparison? JD played great, had great protection up front (hardly got pressured), and had great play calling complimented by a nice run game. Not to mention that every QB develops differently during their rookie season… Remember when Josh Allen was immediately a top 3 QB when he was drafted, because I don’t.
Good on ya, giving some props to Kiper. There's usually way too much hate on a guy that's trying to predict the future of college players, and who's roughly on par with the NFL GMs that get paid to make these decisions in a non-entertainment context.
I’ll be that guy; I liked Jayden way more than I liked Caleb and while it’s still so early in both their careers to have any idea how it’ll turn out, but last night was fun.
Last night was fun. Way too early to say who will be better. But so far the Washington commanders has looked better. But caleb got mechanics that you just dont see. hopefully this rookie class is better then the qb classes of recent.
But the truth was whose QB curse was stronger. Washington has not had a multi-year super star at QB picked in the first round since Baugh but did trade for a HOFer , a trade for a SB winner and a few mid-rounders who had a few decent years. Chicago hasn't really had one since Luckman although McMahon did come close (a dirty hit kept that from happening).
FINALLY 20 years plus of suffering. I’m not raising my hopes just yet. BUT DAM AM I CELEBRATING WHAT WE ARE SEEING!!! Let’s go team. LETS GO FANS!!! Keep rooting them on!!
Yes. JD is for real and this seems vaguely familiar to another Heisman trophy winning, number 2 draft choice qb of 12 years ago. The Bengals ran up 426 total yards against a porous defense requiring the kind of offensive production JD was able to engineer. If I have learned anything as a long time Redskins fan I have learned to keep my expectations in check.
"As a Washington fan, I remember thinking we hit the jackpot with RG3, but the team failed to protect him. I really hope we're not repeating history with this young man by not giving him the protection he needs to succeed”
RG3 said himself that Jayden plays differently. He also doesn't have RG3's ego, his dad is not trying to be a coach, and Dan Snyder is not in the front office meddling. So in my mind this is different. You are right though they do need to protect him. However it looks like they're trying to build a team where he doesn't have to put the team on his back. Can't wait for this year's draft to acquire more defensive pieces and weapons 🙌🏾
RG3 was also a 1 read offense guy even in the nfl the shannys catered the offense to him and his dumb self came in demanding to be a pocket passer.. Dude couldn't read a defense or go thru any progressions.. it aas 1 read and go. Always. JD5 you can clearly see him processing info, looking off multiple wrs before releasing the ball way faster than rg3 could dream of, or he's finding 1st downs with his legs. He just needs to learn how to slide/to outve bounds.
As a lifelong Washington football fan, I want to thank you for making my day (and its not the first time you did that). Hope spings eternal. Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year.
Someone needs a segment or a bit of some kind celebrating the big guy going apeshit after getting to handle the ball. Whatever it is, a fumble recovery, an INT, an eligible receiver Offensive Tackle receiving touchdown - any and all of the above. There are few things as exciting as a 300 pounder jumping around celebrating his first Pro Touchdown, give me more of big 73.
Take Washington, JD, and AE lightly at your own peril if you want to.... if this kid keeps getting better and he will, and Ekeler looked good too, they're gonna drop some serious video game numbers
Watching Daniels in that game last night, the Bears GM this year must have felt like the Panthers GM last year watching CJ Stroud. I better call a real estate agent, because my house is gonna be up for sale soon.
@ji8044 *You have no idea how Caleb Williams career and Jayden Daniels career are going to go, after all, Daniels spent 5 years in college and played in 55 college games.*
Lol I doubt it. I mean I get that your happy. But caleb williams is coming along just fine. No buyers remorse yet. Just watch caleb play. Not the record. Its their o line and coaching that sucks. But Daniel's look like the real deal. I really enjoyed that performance. He went crazy. Feels like rg3 all over again. Hopefully without the injury though.
@OldGuard53 LMAO!!! I guess if that's your approach.. What a weird stance to take when it comes to talent. But I hear you. caleb is bad because you personally know for a fact his teammates don't like him. I get it. Lol
As a 40 year old lifelong Skins fan, I'm still sitting here in shock. Jayden's work ethic and POISE, his attitude, ability to lead. Work to be done on defense, although they definitely came up with some big stops. Its early, But this team is delivering for us and Jayden isnt all about himself, the players Know it. Just humble and proud to be a fan right now
I've been watching the Redskins/Commanders for 65 years and the only time I've ever seen someone like Jayden Daniels, was when we played Cleveland and Jim Brown came to town.
As a long time suffering Washington football fan (not a Commanders fan), that game was the best moment we've had in over a decade. I can't express how great it is to have Snyder gone and the Harris group in charge.
Great game just need to get little better on Defense. Now I will say this the defense was hitting hard last night. They looked better. Washington is getting there.
The other question is the Washington O line that good or the Bengals D line that bad? At times, it looked like Daniels had enough time to eat a bag of Doritos before throwing. Even so, Daniels knew what to do with all that time.
What a different Commanders team from the one that played the Giants last week. It seemed like any time they got in the red zone, they would have a penalty that would back them up, and they were settling for field goals all day. I will add that as slim as Daniels is, he took a major hit to the ribs by two Giants defenders at once, and it looked like he wouldn't be able to return, but he came back in after a play or two and finished the game and won. The guys a baller.
dood started in the SEC. Big games under the lights wont phase him. He's faced teams like Bama, and Georgia. Heck wasnt he Arizona before, so playing USC/Oregon. Kid is used to these enviroments. If that line gets better, keeps him clean, and the Def can just make a few stops..... this team will be dangerous, and could maybe win the East? At least a WC spot mebbe. this is a fun young team to watch, who is ahead of the schedule i had in mind before season started. I thought mid way through the season they'd be pulling these kinda wins. this team gonna be scary good

Ekler was injured a lot of last year. He's definitely still got gas.
Because what you want in your QB is "creativity". 🤦♂️ The QB analysis is so out of wack.
Why does everything have to be a comparison? JD played great, had great protection up front (hardly got pressured), and had great play calling complimented by a nice run game. Not to mention that every QB develops differently during their rookie season…
Remember when Josh Allen was immediately a top 3 QB when he was drafted, because I don’t.
Good on ya, giving some props to Kiper. There's usually way too much hate on a guy that's trying to predict the future of college players, and who's roughly on par with the NFL GMs that get paid to make these decisions in a non-entertainment context.
But he has done less with more, Daniels it's easy better and he will get better every game that is what's scary
2 humble guys Scary Terry and JD5! Hail to the REDSKINS!!!
McLaren showing sleepy time that was good man 😊😊
I’ll be that guy; I liked Jayden way more than I liked Caleb and while it’s still so early in both their careers to have any idea how it’ll turn out, but last night was fun.
HTTR! It’s about time!
FINALLY 20 years plus of suffering. I’m not raising my hopes just yet. BUT DAM AM I CELEBRATING WHAT WE ARE SEEING!!! Let’s go team. LETS GO FANS!!! Keep rooting them on!!
Thanks for the nod eisen !
Lord keep that man healthy🙏
Long suffering Washington fan. I'm cautiously optimistic. That is all.
Like most of us..let's wait til game 9 or so for full excitement
Thanks for decorating the set in Washington colors now that we have something to be excited for again.
I am as happy as RE. It was a great game. Thank-You NFL Players.
Love the underdog!
No punts for two games
Jayden is for real. Also: the Linsanity run for the Bengals is almost complete 🤞
As a lifelong Washington football fan, I want to thank you for making my day (and its not the first time you did that). Hope spings eternal. Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year.
we hope so every year,httr!!!
Developing Lamar legs and Aaron accuracy. What a combo
Commanders' owner Harris bought new benches; Tress has been giving them a live test so far, the results are good.
Rich words here rival some of the greatest orator's of our time. Had to watch it twice to appreciate the heart-felt analysis.
Take Washington, JD, and AE lightly at your own peril if you want to.... if this kid keeps getting better and he will, and Ekeler looked good too, they're gonna drop some serious video game numbers
Thank you for Chicago Bears. You didn’t completely do your research… it actually was a easy call👌🏾❤️
ROTY
Watched Jayden play for LSU as a Bama fan and am so happy for him!! Washington fans should be ecstatic.
The thing i like about Daniels is he can learn, cause u seen is improvement fr Arizona to LSU.
Can we have mnf like this every week please great game
Well said. 🎤💧
I Had JD, Caleb, jj, and penix as the top 4 qbs in the 2024 draft🔥🔥🔥
Watching Daniels in that game last night, the Bears GM this year must have felt like the Panthers GM last year watching CJ Stroud.
I better call a real estate agent, because my house is gonna be up for sale soon.
@ji8044
*You have no idea how Caleb Williams career and Jayden Daniels career are going to go, after all, Daniels spent 5 years in college and played in 55 college games.*
@@denomac1740 they have OL issues, but Caleb isn't liked bro, sorry but he's not making friends on his own team and that speaks for itself
@OldGuard53 LMAO!!! I guess if that's your approach.. What a weird stance to take when it comes to talent. But I hear you. caleb is bad because you personally know for a fact his teammates don't like him. I get it. Lol
@@denomac1740 Williams has much better players around him than Daniels does.
Just humble and proud to be a fan right now
The kid won a shootout against Joe Burrow with a perfect 🪣 drop. Wait until he improves 👀
Hail to the REDSKINS!!!
Thank you, Chicago. HTTR SINCE 1962
I've been watching the Redskins/Commanders for 65 years and the only time I've ever seen someone like Jayden Daniels, was when we played Cleveland and Jim Brown came to town.
Even so, Daniels knew what to do with all that time.
somebody needs to keep track of how many times rich takes off and puts back on his glasses
Or fiddles with his watch. That was so distracting
I thought mid way through the season they'd be pulling these kinda wins. this team gonna be scary good
Watched him Beat Justin Herbert and knew he was gonna be special
HTTR HTTC
A couple of plays I didn't even know he had the ball for a run. Otherwise known as a magician. ; )
all i can hope is this version of the Washington Football Team doesnt break Jayden like they broke RG3
I doubt that. We have competent coaches.
Won't happen
Dan Snyder is gone. This is a new era in Washington.
RG3 broke RG3. If you can't stand on your leg, don't tell the coaches you can keep playing.
He’s thin but you can clearly see he’s not brittle
Two years in a row QB2 picks are outperforming. Food for thought for all GMs and coaches as they mull draft picks.
