Youtuber's Responsibility

- I try to be a responsible RUclipsr, balancing what I'm showing against how it will be received and perceived by my audience. This is the stuff I had to consider with Teardown. And no it's not a confession, just a behind-the-scenes look.
Took a bit longer than expected to get this video out, so it might actually have been the week before last when the trailer was announced :P
"hopefully one day they'll invent some sort of annotation system"
that hurt man
It never would have worked on a phone and phones are the main way people watch videos nowadays
@@MrAllallalla The old one? Definitely, but they had a card system (those links and polls in the corner of the video), which wasn't that bad on mobile. Now you only have end cards.
They _could have_ put effort into making it work on mobile but made a explicit choice not to
Exactly my thought. This isn‘t a technology related limitation. They easily have the engineering power to make that happen. That was a conscious decision.
@@MrAllallalla I bet you feel like a pro-programmer after printing Hello World
"Hopefully someday they'll invent some kind of annotation system"
I laughed in real life when I heard this, thank you Philip.
What do you mean laugh in real life? Isn't that just laughing
@@Sludgelorrd no man didn't you know that we laugh virtually in 2020??
@@Sludgelorrd A lot of people (myself included) say "lol" nowadays when they mean "I found that funny but I almost certainly didn't actually laugh"

-Check and modify the game's files

Still mad about annotations huh Philip?
welp he has the rights to be mad tbh :P annotations were awesome if the people using them knew what were they doing

The only thing the game lacks of is big explosions. Every kinds of explosives create overtly small explosions. It'd probably kill the FPS for some seconds, but the explosions would be more pleasing.
I cant wait, I'm sure they'll have some destruction based levels too, where you destroy things as fast as possible.
I can imagine a final level incorporating a nuke or large bomb of sorts perhaps, seems like it might be a logical choice.
Yeah, if there's anything i've learned from Minecraft it's that 2 FPS explosions are still extremely pleasing to watch.
That's what happened with Just Cause 3... A game built around large explosions, but still could handle them.
maybe you could call an airstrike
How you handled Teardown was inredibly mature. You said what you needed to say without over hyping or tarnishing the product. You even clarified some things you thought would be misunderstood by people! I cannot complain :)
man, an annotation system would be pretty cool, I can't believe that they've never thought of that. I'm sure it'd be a feature that'd remain forever and not get removed for a dumb reason.
Jesus you talk about it like it happened before. Google would never do that.
It USED TO BE A THING around 12 years ago and they REMOVED IT which STILL DRIVES ME NUTS

I really dont know why would youtube completely remove annotation, not even make it an option of some sorts

Annotations were garbage, usually used for spamming people with adverts and links. Whilst it doesn’t help you, most creators used them in a terrible way, great thing they are gone.
@@boxrick1 just about every feature would be misused by horrible users. Should the comment section be deleted as well? No, even though it's horrible a lot of the time, but there were ways to have it disabled on certain videos by RUclips. Something of minor importance, like annotations, could have options to be reported to RUclips or.. I don't know, maybe if you don't like it, there could be an option, and this may be a stretch, forgive me but, I'm talking about an option, to... *disable annotations*

Honestly Philip, you are one of the best RUclipsrs on the platform. You just felt the need to make a whole 10 minute video explaining how you felt about showing off Teardown after the developer gave you a copy to demonstrate. You really are a gold standard of transparency.
Im a simple man. I see Philip, I klik.

Youre so simpel, you use this format of comment to get likes.
UltraEdd nah i was one of the first people here so instead of saying “first” i was gonna put the first thing that popped into my head and change it to something creative later but people liked it so i may aswell keep it. But yeah, whats wrong with likes anyway im not to s4s.

Meanwhile at BlueDrake every other day: THIS IS THE BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED
In the first 7 days he uploaded 9 Teardown videoes.
He's milking it pretty hard. A bit too hard in my opinion.
He's also spreading lies and mechanics that arent in the game. And modifying files.

This video highlights an issue I've always had with gaming youtubers who get their hands on a press copy of a game. As you briefly touch upon, many other youtubers are choosing to pump out video after video of this game. I see this as kind of scummy because these videos will always get many views as many people are hyped to see what an upcoming release can offer, but I feel as though this robs many people of their first time experience playing a game, as they already know what the game is going to feel like and may not buy the game. I'm not saying people should be buying games blind, but your video gave me a perfect impression of what to expect when I buy the game and increased my hype without feeling as though I saw everything the game had to offer. I also feel like a smaller portion of youtubers just like to flex the fact they got a game before others, but that's not my main point and not a majority. Anyway, just my two cents. Interesting video as always.
2:51 I really wasn't expecting Philip to swear and now I've laughed at it for too long.
philip: I won't be showing bugs
philip 10 seconds later: *shows the bugs*
I wont be showing any bugs like this floating fire right here
With your videos on youtube advertisement, how we'd find out if you died and how you consider your presence online. It's so clear to us as viewers that you genuinely care so greatly about us as a community. We're not just income or stats to you, you're thoughtful in the way you present yourself online because you want to be the best you can be. You're a unique content creator Philip, even though I know I'm one of a million little orange squares, I feel as if my thoughts are still considered. You're truly one of a kind and I hope you and your brothers 2kliks and 3kliks continue to make the content that makes us all smile.
Yea.. BlueDrake is known for everhyping everything...
It pisses me off, he doesn't know anything about the game beyond the surface deep things
2:55 that throwed bomb that made the fogs scatter in the direction of air dynamics pleased me very well.
I genuinely like the way you cover most topics. Taking the time to explain a negative thoroughly and follow up with reasons it’s not really as big of a negative as you might initially think is a fantastic way to keep expectations in check, and I’ve really enjoyed your coverage of the game so far
So YOU'RE that little voice in my head that over analyses everything...

If I ever made a game, Philip would be the first person I would trust to show it off.
He seems the perfect type of person for this kind of game (where you can just play around and whatnot), but I don't think he'd be interested in every game you could make.
Red Faction guerilla had a gamemode where you had to compete to see who could do the most destruction with a limited number of explosives or hammer swings or whatever and i honestly feel that a gamemode like that in this game would suit it perfectly
7:13 Wouldn't that be great. But nah that's way to hard to implement there's no way that RUclips is capable of that.
8:14 "overhyped gameplays"
Bluedrake: *intense sweating*
Everything you said in this video is a reason why I respect you so much Philip. You are one of the beacons of light in this ocean of clickbait, "fake facts" and flood of low quality content.
My sincere thank you.
I think this video did justice to the devs. You seem concise and generally interested in the simulator and its development. They made a right choice giving you this ability to talk about the simulator. Im intrigued and want to see what this simulator has to offer upon release
The creator definitely made the right choice giving you the first hand experience to make videos about it.
If only more youtubers thought about responsibility they have and how they affect viewer's perception of content they show. Great work as always!
You mentioning water mechanics literally made me drool. I’ve been wanting something like that in a game for ages.
This is probably one of my favorite channels, because of how much of an insight you give us into what it's like to be, well, you! It's almost like talking to a friend in a way, learning about them, their successes, mistakes, and experiences. Thank you for sharing these with us.
You as well as the other Philips are my favourite youtuber of all time so far, I love the content you create and I eagerly await each new post on your channels. Thank you for consistently providing quality content for such a long time.
Philip is the type of guy who makes a 10 minute video explaining his rationale behind previewing a new game, but also worrying that he isn't suited to the task. Hmmmmmmmmmm
The cynic in me would think that you know you're a good egg, and this video is actually an advert to future game developers that shows you're a trustworthy youtuber :P
You are one of the rare youtubers that always overthink what they say, to hurt nobody and to make sure everything is okay
And at the same time, when you think something, you say it
That's what I love with you (also the fact that like everyone of us, you act strangely sometimes and you show it (and it is funny for sure))
Keep it up with the good content :)
soon you'll be (case unboxing) millionaire
"If I was making a game" 2:45 RIP Destruction Darius 2. Guess it's been put on the back-burner.
This game feels like a stepping stone. Looking at it I see what games before it lack, and what games after it could have.
An annotation system to make corrections in videos? What a brilliant idea!
This game is somehow weirdly blocky yet realistic at the same time. I love this aesthetic
Love these type of videos, educational and it's always cool too see someone talk about the same way you feel yourself
I haven't watched your original video about this game, but I enjoyed this one a lot.
I like those videos which take one thing as an example and talk about a broad topic as a whole
Honestly, I love your humble attitude, Philip.

Great video Philip. Your insight about being a youtuber is really fascinating
It makes sense to me that you would be chosen to preview the game. You're methodical and fair to the games you play and show on your channel, in my opinion you're one of the best channels to watch to get content about games that properly shows both sides of the game. A lot of people will not show the bad parts about the game, or if they don't like the game will only focus on the negatives.
Thanks for the solid content for several years so far, and I look forward to more in the coming years!
Your videos really speak to me. I can so easily put myslef in your shoes and agree with alot about what you say. Thank you !

philip i just wanna say you are probably one of the few youtubers i'd legitmately trust their opinion on something. if you and six other youtubers i know had to tell me one thing with no evidence behind it, i'd probably pick yours first and foremost. honestly probably because of you having this channel where i get a more interpersonal look of you, your life, your personality, and such, and you seem honest as hell.`
