You were awesome, Allie. I was glued to my seat watching. When I saw you finish top 30, second for Team USA, only seconds behind Weini, I was ecstatic. Then for Team USA to finish fourth, behind the east African teams, that was amazing. To put things into perspective, you went from climbing up and down Mount Marathon as a teen, to being the TOP 30 XC runner IN THE WORLD. You must very very proud. I know your fans and supporters are. Way to go, Allie. 👍
Hey Wings Nut - do you mind me asking how were you able to see the race ?? I clicked on all the stuff and all I got was "coverage blocked in your area". I live in Texas, so I'm not sure what I did wrong. But I tried. I finished my training run early to make sure I would see both races. Weini Kelati is a beast. I can't believe she managed to hang with the Kenyans for so long. And then I'm even more impressed that even after that, she held on and finished 15th. Her last 200m looked like willpower alone.
@annemasika6059 I agree. But I think Kelati wanted to test herself against the medal position runners with an eye on the Olympics. On a cooler day, I think she could have run the same race plan and still finished top 10.

No, I'm not a stalker... middle son was running in high school then and like all parents they look at results from all across the country. Everything you've been through over the years has brought you to this race and this result. My heart is bursting with pride like a fathers heart would be. There was a lot to watch! I watched the Peacock livestream at 7:45 am my time aka super sleepy, but I thought I recognized Allie securing her hair bun from behind just before the start of the race. Then I marveled at our Kenyan sisters for the duration of the race - wow- with Weini Kelati not far behind - also wow. Didn’t even see a hay bale until watching it a 2nd time after a nap.
