    - Basketball is a game full of mistakes. So if you make one move on to the next play
    - Control the controllables - Warming up your shot and body, practice breathing and visualization, film etc
    - Practice with pressure - Add shots in your workouts that simulate games. Shooting in a row vs. just counting makes. Playing against defence
    Things to do before games:
    - 478 breathing through nose
    - Visualize 5 successful plays you've done in the past
    - 5 plays you want to happen in your game
    - A situation where something goes wrong, you go into the next play mindset, then it results in a positive
    - Support and speak to yourself positively

I get this CONSTANTLY, sometimes I grab a rebound and there’s only one person for me to beat and I am MORE then capable of doing so but I'll pass it out to somebody open instead. hopefully this will help some, I just gotta be confident

    • @VisionDrivenBasketball

The rich get richer and confident people get more confident. Meaning, once you start to do it and eventually succeed (even if it isn’t right away or if it isn’t super consistent right away) you’ll gain confidence. Then because of that you’ll do it more, which leads to more confidence, etc. but it all starts with doing it for the first time. That’s the hardest part, then it becomes easy after that. I also think visualizing can help you a lot. Everyday just visualize yourself pulling that rebound and beating that one person. Really experience how it feels. It’ll make it easier for you to do it in real games. And then go and do it and forget about the results at first, just try it.

I think my coach shrank my confidence. I know I'm one of the best perimeter defenders in my province (I'm Canadian) my coach knew that and so he completely shrank my role to basically solely a defender. I definitely have one of the highest basketball iqs of my class and love getting others involved and creating but I never touched the ball on offense cus of my coach's lack of trust in me offensively. Then later on he just instantly increases my role and expects me to play like the other guard on our team. I dont, and so then he starts benching me which kills my confidence completely. Just had one of my hardest working and productive off seasons but I'm hoping that the confidence drop from last year won't hinder my production

Before any game that I play, I meditate and usually do yoga which helps me mentally to deal with pressure and since I play full court most of the time, I will run up and down the court and stretch before playing ball.

No sir! Basketball is a game of mismatches. Mistakes do happen, thise mistakes still have to be capitalized on. Shots still made on good defense is not a mistake, just as if you miss a open shot. You going to make and miss shots, thats just the game. You are correct about the mental points you made, thats a huge part of the battle.

Just do it anyway if you want to achieve your Dreams you gotta work hard for it you dont have to want to do it for you to do it. Just count to 3 and stand up and do it

It’s your habits , if you always wasting time and not taking care of things it’s contributes to that . Also it’s a mentality thing , if you really want or not , it shouldn’t take motivation to go to do it , you gotta find a deeper purpose or meaning.

I can play pretty well against my friends at the park or at school, but in real games, I try so hard and just don't have enough confidence. So thank you for this video. Also coach, in middle school, how do I compete with everyone else in the country, how do I make the switch from "good" to like "best in the state". I think I should go to the gym more regularly and really get my shooting down. I know for a fact that I will not be as tall as most NBA players. My doctor says anywhere from 6'1 to 6'4. How do I stand out from all of the other players that are tall, can dunk already, etc?

    • @VisionDrivenBasketball
      @VisionDrivenBasketball  11 месяцев назад +6

There’s a lot I could say about that but here’s a couple things. If you really want to stand out you have to be willing to do the things that most other players are not willing to do. Here’s some examples: working out every day even when it’s not convenient, learning HOW to actually workout and what a good workout is actually like (I talk about this a lot on my channel so check out my podcast playlist), be willing to step outside of your comfort zone repeatedly (challenging yourself in workouts, trying things in games), and getting super strong in the weight room, you have to fall in love with getting stronger and more athletic. Mostly importantly, you just have to be obsessed with getting better. Whatever it takes. Commit to doing that for ~5 years and you’ll eventually separate yourself.

you gotta become a 3pt sniper and a great finisher think of Kyrie and Ja(jumping with 2 feet at the rim). to do that, work out 5 times a week. I think getting better at basketball is relatively easy, it just takes time

Thanks a lot 🙏🏿🙌🏿🙏🏿... your approach is pragmatic so everybody can relate to that and make a difference.
If i may, another tip is to create to yourself an alter ego (like beyonce who is sasha Fierce on the stage, and kobe that created the black mamba character to be focus on the game and cope wit the judicial matters he once had)
That alter ego (other yourself) will have the confidence and what you need to be at your best during the game
As far as I'm concerned i read a quote from paulo coelho that says: "there is no such things as winning or losing in nature. There is only movement"
Since that day i learn to focus myself on the moment to enjoy. No matter the result i have to enjoy the game. And give my best is... the movemet... ☯️
