we are newars in Nepal mainly in Kathmandu, some are more "hindu" some are more " buddist" we dont make distintions. But unfortunately there is divide created now. The truth must be told.
The Dalai Lama is being HUMBLE by calling India, its "GURU," and the Tibet, it's "CHELA." However, I personally donot like everybody to be put in the same bracket as chelas. I donot like being called a CHELA..and I will explain to you why..I am grateful for India for allowing a vast majority of Tibetans seek Refuge in India. However, the Buddhism is not a major religion practiced in India by the Indians. Athough, Buddha preached his teachings in India thousands of years ago, Buddha (the prince)was from Nepal, and he fled his kingdom (his parents were a Hindu King) as far as I know. As the RUclipsr here said that Buddhism is a part of Hinduism, which I disagree. If Buddha was happy with each elements of Hinduism, and his fathers kingdom, he would never have fleed. Many relgion share a similar teaching such as: spreading love, compassion, not harming others or oneself, etc. Practicing Meditation and Yoga are similar practices in Hinduism and Buddhism. A lot of Buddhist texts were derived from Sanskrit, which was widely spoken or written in India thousands of years ago(I believe because I am not a historian or geopolitics expert). The writings in Tibetans and Hindu scripts are not identical, infact they are different. We look at Buddha as our Teacher...Buddhism also have deities like Hindus..we share some similar elements, but to call a Buddhism, ONE PArT of Hinduism is something I disagree with.
I would like to add something here: a lot of curriculums like Science, math, social studies, psychologies, philosophy in Indian schools in India 🇮🇳 today are coming from the West..these books were compiled and authored by the few intelligent Westerners..that doesnot make all the Indians the "Chelas" of the West..does it make sense. Likewise, a king from Tibet sent a delegation in India and they learned from a few intelligent masters in India, and preserved a lot of Buddha's preaching in Tibet, and now In India, Nepal, etc..so, eventually the Tibetans are the masters of the Buddhism even though it derived from India because Buddha preached in India and was believed to be enlightened in India...We Tibetans are the ultimate MASTERS, because we practiced Buddhism fir centuries, preserved Buddha's teachings, and practiced his preachings...Buddha was born in Lumbini in Nepal(quick clarification) and Lumbini is locsted in 🇳🇵 Nepal.

Attachment is not limited to just love, relationship, material, but also one own self, and eventually when you finally 'get there', you also need to let go of the Buddhist teaching itself. If you can let go, having a tattoo of Buddha can also be seen as a dedication instead of disrespect (can you bear the pain? I definitely can't). Most-importantly, whether it is right or wrong has nothing to do with your road to enlightenment. The existence of the one self is conditioned, left alone the tattoo on the skin.

So u worship your Mother , father, Guru, Tree, river , , Prani-matra, , Earth , universe etc. 25- And if u don't believe that everything has God in it No problem - respect ur viewpoint. 26- "Sarva Jana Sukhino Bhavantu" (May u all live happy) You represent this ! U are free to choose , my dear Hindu ! This is exactly the essence of Hinduism , all inclusive.. that is why it has withstood the test of the time inspite of repeated onslaught both from within and outside , And assimilated every good aspects from everything. That is why it is eternal !!! There is a saying in Rigveda- the first book ever known to mankind which depicts the Hinduism philosophy in a Nutshell "*Ano Bhadrah Krathavo Yanthu Vishwathah*" Let the knowledge come to us from every direction Hinduism is the only religion that is open for criticism, and it shows the greatness of this religion the greatest religion among all. That does not enforce you to offer 5 times of Namaz everyday,or to visit Church on every Sunday it knows that religion is a matter of heart, it is the feeling the private relationship between you and your God.

As sadhguru says, the word Buddha means "one who is above intellect ". There has been several Buddhas in india even before gautam Buddha. Buddhism is not a separate religion that is true. It is one of the several different ideologies that came out of hindu culture.
Only the Ambedkarite form of Budddhism tries to make distinction between "Hinduism and Buddhism". Buddha's teachings are a part of Sanatan Dharma, A true Budhhist would never make such distinction.

I’m an American who practices Buddhism. If one studies enough you can’t help but see the influence that the Vedas have had on Buddhism. Even though I don’t necessarily worship any gods, I have such strong respect for the stories about Shiva, Krishna, Ganesh and Hanuman just to name a few. Even Hanuman was said to be the inspiration for Sun Wukong who in turn was the inspiration for one of my favorite characters Son Goku of Dragon Ball fame. Without the traditions of the east I wouldn’t be the man I am today. I cannot wait to visit.
Buddhism is just another form of Hinduism. But it doesn't go the other way around because Hinduism came about more than 7000 years before Buddhism. Buddhism is just like another branch of Hinduism. Like yoga , mimansa, etc.

Could not have agreed more. Gautam Buddha was a Shraman. He didn't follow any religion during his quest for highest level of consciousness ( Nirvana), he followed middle way ( madhaym marga). But he also spoke against the Brahminsm, caste system( verna), gender discrimination, Hindu rituals like Hom,yegga and animal sacrifice

He introduced agama tirta, Saka calendar, and aksara Hanacaraka/Javanese script... His teachings (agama Sunda Wiwitan, Kasumedangan, Kejawen, Saptadharma, etc) are not categorized as Hinduism... Now, many of us believe that Aji Saka is a muslim... The Hyang concept has many similarities with the concept of tauhid... That's why, we use sembahyang as a synonym for sholat (Islamic prayers)... Sembah = worship, hyang = Hong/Ong = the one and only God... His birthplace is in Bumi Majeti/Kali Serayu river...
Correct analysis sir Good narration. I would like to add little. When buddhism started there was no concept of Hinduism. There were thoughts of shaivism, vaishnavaiths, shaktheyas, ganapathyam, aadiitya aradhana, etc., killings in the name of bali chadana was not liked by Lord Buddha. He underwent some kind of depression by seeing miseries and tried to found solution. He tried thapas. Later he got some answers from his mind by medhomadana and gave solutions. He never bothered about society. He concentrated on individual perspectives. His thoughts were adopted. Kingdoms collapsed. Same contributed for indifference of public inself protection and we lost freedom. Hinduism is a creation for the purpose of classification among Christians, muslims, and people living in Bharath with different faiths. It is subject to correction. Buddhism is one part of Hinduism.
I feel this is extremely hard to discuss, especially with people online as that's our only form of communication atm. People really get mad if their belief is challenged, even if they might be factually incorrect. Pretty sure not everyone is trying to attack others, just trying to spread information and reduce misinformation, then people can come to their own conclusions based on that. But willful ignorance has never done anyone good, and never will it do so. Only by knowing facts about how similar we are can we move on from our petty squabbles and contribute to a better world.
If somebody rejects a set of principles or vedas then it's only rejected for that mind. It doesn't mean those principles doesn't exist or doesn't apply. Vedic principle will apply to an atheist in a similar way it applies to a believer.
Siddhartha Gautama's rejection of certain Hindu beliefs and practices is primarily documented in Buddhist scriptures such as the Pali Canon, which contains the earliest recorded teachings of the Buddha. Here are some key points illustrating his departure from Hinduism: 1. **Rejection of the Caste System**: The caste system was a fundamental social structure in ancient Indian society, with strict hierarchies and roles assigned based on birth. The Buddha rejected the caste system and taught that one's social status or birth did not determine their spiritual potential. He emphasized the idea that all individuals could attain enlightenment, regardless of their caste or background. - Proof: Various discourses in the Pali Canon, such as the "Sutta Nipata," contain dialogues where the Buddha criticizes the caste system and emphasizes the importance of personal conduct and spiritual development over social status. 2. **Rejection of Vedic Authority**: Hinduism traditionally places great importance on the Vedas, ancient sacred texts believed to contain divine knowledge. The Buddha did not recognize the authority of the Vedas as the ultimate source of truth. He encouraged his followers to rely on their own experiences and critical thinking to discern truth rather than blindly adhering to scripture or tradition. - Proof: In several sutras, such as the "Kalama Sutta" in the Anguttara Nikaya, the Buddha advises his followers not to accept teachings simply because they are traditional or authoritative but to test them through personal experience and reasoning. 3. **Concept of Anatman (No-Self)**: One of the fundamental teachings of Buddhism is the concept of anatman, or no-self, which rejects the Hindu notion of an eternal, unchanging soul (atman). The Buddha taught that there is no permanent, unchanging self or soul within individuals, challenging the Hindu belief in the existence of an eternal soul that transmigrates from one life to another. - Proof: The concept of anatman is extensively discussed in various Buddhist texts, including the "Anatta-lakkhana Sutta" in the Samyutta Nikaya, where the Buddha explains the nature of the self as impermanent and devoid of intrinsic essence. These points, supported by the teachings found in Buddhist scriptures, demonstrate Siddhartha Gautama's departure from certain Hindu beliefs and practices in the development of Buddhism.
man, I respect your work, I wish the thing you're doing through this medium grows more in Bharat and your audience get more serious on how we are already totally eradicated as a religion or identity. I would wish to work on this like you someday
WE Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains, Ajivikas (almost athesist) and other east asian folk cultures like Daosim, Confucianism, Shamanism, Tengrism and Shintoism inherit a lot of common things as we all have the same roots. Actually all our beliefs are the manifestations of one same common root, the eternal code of conduct and character, pacifism, and good works known as Dhrma and Karma
There's a reason why Buddhism+Jainism+Sikhism fall under Hindu community in constitution of India. They're all branches of Hindusim although distinct in their own right.
Buddhism is summarised version of Hinduism where Hinduism allows to explore and experience spirituality freely and in a easier way But Buddhism in sense is very difficult to practice like yogic practices which means Buddhism is just a stricter way towards mukti or moksha
Sir, I have seen your video from the Ranveer show..became your fan. I am very interested in ancient indian history and you have given me some astonishing facts. Thank you for that. Will be waiting for more shocking facts.
I would like to tell something especially on behalf of theravada buddhists and I'm from a traditional theravada buddhist country. (1) First thing, you have mentioned that the buddha recognized the authority of vedas and accepted a permanent soul in his death bed and that was mentioned in maha parinibbana sutta. There's no such thing in maha parinibbana sutta in Pali canon. (I re-checked the sutta after hearing your words). Distorting buddhist texts is not appriciated in anyway. On the other hand, if there was a phrase like that, buddhism will not survive this long. If that the case, buddhists can directly refer to vedas without wasting their time to maintain seperate religious books. (2) Second thing, Of course we worship gods like Ganesh and Vishnu. But they have nothing to do with "theravada buddhism". (Sometimes legends exist such as vishnu is the protector of buddhism, but they are not proven by canonical evidence. Plus those legends vary from country to country. In Tibet, the protector of buddhism is Mahakala, but if you ask who is Mahakala in Sri Lanka, probably, they don't even know about that God. In ancient Gandhara buddhist arts, you can see Hercules as the protector of buddhism. These things are just absorbed things to buddhism and they remain as buddhist culture of each country). We follow buddhism and hinduism at the same time. You cannot get an idea about buddhism by just looking at the culture of a buddhist country. There is no specific culture in buddhism. In most of buddhist countries, pre-buddhist culture remains as the buddhist culture and most of the theravada buddhist countries were hindu countries before. For an example, Astrology plays a major role in Sri Lankan society eventhough, it was considered as a useless thing in buddhism. Chinese buddhists worship their ancestors and follow other philosophies such as confucianism and taoism. Does that make buddhism a part of those religions? (3) Third one, you mentioned that the old name of Bangkok is Indrapuri and thai culture has a significant impact from hindu mythology. Then you ask why they adopt hindu culture as buddhist culture if they are buddhists. Indonesian cities also have hindu names like "Surabaya" and their culture has a great impact from hindu mythology ( eg:- Garuda ). Does that mean Islam also belongs to hinduism? That is only the previous culture. (4) Fourth one, you said that the split of buddhism and hinduism happened after the colonial rule. I don't think so. Buddhism was a well organized religion. We identify that organization as "Buddha Sasana" since antient time. "Buddha Sasana" consist of four groups as Bhikku (buddhist monks), Bhikkuni (buddhist nuns/ theri), Upasaka (male lay buddhists) and Upasika ( female lay buddhists). All these people are ones who took refuge in triple gems (Buddha, dhamma, sangha). Those who didn't take refuge on triple gems are not buddhists thus not belong to buddha sasana. In Sri Lanka non buddhists didn't able to claim to the throne in Sinhalese kingdoms, even hindus. This traditional rule was mentioned even in stone inscriptions. If buddhism and hinduism are one in ancient times, these kind of rules shouldn't be there. The umbrella term "Hinduism" is a recent term as I know. If you are going to identify all the antient Indian philosophies as "Hinduism", some of the teachings fall under this term are misbeliefs in buddhism. I'm not going to write them, you can refer to "Brahmajala Sutta" in pali canon if you want. Propagating and believing in misbeliefs is a sin in buddhism. Therefore, if that the case, buddhists can not agree with everything in hinduism as well as they cannot stand under the umbrella so called hinduism. Finally, I would like to say , we agree to the fact that buddhism was influenced by hinduism and Buddha never fully rejected the Veda dharma. Plus, we respect both religions. But identifying someone's religion by their birth is not right. Then all the Ex-christians in this world should be christians, all the Ex-muslims should be muslims and all the ex-buddhists and ex-hindus should be still buddhists and hindus. People have the right to accept their birth religion fully or partially or reject it.
Came across this video he claims to show facts and archeological evidences that hinduism is copied from buddhism ruclips.net/video/Cm_xqKLzrng/видео.html A response from Abhijit sir on this would be really helpful
I totally agree with you Abhijit, this question was always bothering me , because I am into self realization and vedant and upnishad teach us the same doctrine. Even Sikhism , Jainism are derivations from Hinduism, only major difference in Jainism is that they don’t believe in Non-violence.
People should visit Ajantha and ellora caves badminton caves where Buddhist, Hindu and Jain temples are there together as. Many Vishnu temples depict Buddha as an Avatar of Vishnu. The Dalai Lama has done Abhishek to Shiv ling many times.
Actually we can't saperate Buddhist and Hindu.I am a Buddhist From Thailand. And I can say in the Lord Buddha era India is the truely land of free speech and freedom of thinking.
As a Tibetan Buddhist I completely agree! None of Buddha’s discourses said anything about rejecting any religion of any sorts. We even have Hindu deities in tantric Buddhist teachings. It’s sad to see how people would push false information to create hate propaganda and division amongst our spiritual world

DALAI LAMA CANN0T BE C0MPARED W!TH L0RD BUDDHA!!!

Brother... Aji Saka/Ajiwaka/Ajivaka not extinct... It exists in Indonesia especially Java island... He is our unifying figure...

Correct analysis sir
Good narration.
I am a Hindu but I respect Lord Buddha a lot and I think Buddhism and Hinduism are same
Hindusm has very stupid rituals while budhism not

I feel this is extremely hard to discuss, especially with people online as that's our only form of communication atm.
People really get mad if their belief is challenged, even if they might be factually incorrect. Pretty sure not everyone is trying to attack others, just trying to spread information and reduce misinformation, then people can come to their own conclusions based on that.
But willful ignorance has never done anyone good, and never will it do so. Only by knowing facts about how similar we are can we move on from our petty squabbles and contribute to a better world.
Off topic but the fact that there is not even a single grammatical mistake here🙌 and yes, I agree.
I agree but are you saying that sir in wrong in this video?
If somebody rejects a set of principles or vedas then it's only rejected for that mind. It doesn't mean those principles doesn't exist or doesn't apply. Vedic principle will apply to an atheist in a similar way it applies to a believer.
Siddharth Gautama was a Hindu prince. So how different can what he learnt be from what he created. Its a simplified version of Hinduism.
He was a agnostic
@@marshmellow1162 So what? Im agnostic too. I dont believe God exists.
@@ashleysilver5594 Hindus can't be agnostics

@@aryajain5311 I don't think. The history books says so. Do you understand English. Isnt Siddharth a Hindu name too? And Gautam too
Always remember brothers are always same😊😊
Siddhartha Gautama's rejection of certain Hindu beliefs and practices is primarily documented in Buddhist scriptures such as the Pali Canon, which contains the earliest recorded teachings of the Buddha. Here are some key points illustrating his departure from Hinduism:
Treating all life with genuine kindness, respect and warmth. It is precious.
man, I respect your work, I wish the thing you're doing through this medium grows more in Bharat and your audience get more serious on how we are already totally eradicated as a religion or identity. I would wish to work on this like you someday
You explained it so well Avijit. It is the simplest explanation I have heard. 👏👏👏👏
Well said Sir!!!!
Perfect explanation with facts !!!
Buddhism is summarised version of Hinduism where Hinduism allows to explore and experience spirituality freely and in a easier way But Buddhism in sense is very difficult to practice like yogic practices which means Buddhism is just a stricter way towards mukti or moksha
B--ddhism is easiest way
We Buddhist and Hindus are brothers and sisters. We should not allow others to break our bond. Jai Hind.

Sir, I have seen your video from the Ranveer show..became your fan. I am very interested in ancient indian history and you have given me some astonishing facts. Thank you for that. Will be waiting for more shocking facts.
I'm marathi brahman I also respect sidhartha Gautama
People have the right to accept their birth religion fully or partially or reject it.
i agree
People confuse Buddhism with Ambedkar. Buddhism dates for more then 2000 years and it is one of the most ancient dharmas of the world.
That's why we call him 9th Avatara of Vishnu
