I've had so many people say "why are you using references? Aren't you meant to be an artist?"
And like...no?? Plus, I have aphantasia which means I literally don't have a visual imagination. I KINDA NEED REFERENCES
People who don't draw themselves literally have NO idea what it means to be an artist...they think we create everything out of thin air, when most of the time we are inspired by what we SEE or what we experience and bring it onto paper. For some reason people think drawing with references is using a cheat-sheet, but like mentioned in the video, I'd actually like to see people TRY to draw from life to experience how hard it actually is and how much practise it takes to draw something properly 😂

No, really. Like... I can't draw without references. When I draw something that I haven't drawn before, if I draw from memory, I get the most goofy and silly thingy on paper in existence 😭
And I'm ashamed of it,,,
No need to feel ashamed! It's only natural to goof up if you're not experienced with something! References help and even when you're more experienced and used to drawing something, you'll still be faster if you have some visual aid!
The skill lies in being able to bring to paper what you see with your eyes! There are enough people who don't learn how to draw even with references, so you being able to work with them puts you already a step ahead of a lot of people who are practicing drawing!

Where did you get that cool headdress for the fairy?
Aww thank you! 🥰 I bought this headdress from CarbickovaCrowns on etsy, as a personal reward for surviving the pandemic, especially the Lockdown 😂 This headdress specifically was the "Moon child Halo", but I'm afraid it's no longer available, they don't mass-produce their crowns. But there's a TON of lovely halos and headdresses in the shop, they always add something new! I'm very glad I FINALLY found an opportunity to use it for a video 😂
