Surprised at the choice to bail instead of aim to put down in a random field on dry land. Complete loss of an airframe due to running out of fuel, think you'd definitely be in for a stern word with the C.O. 😂 Still a very enjoyable vid, looking forward to more! Thanks Taff! 🫡
Beautiful video. Outstanding detail and what I think is realistic situations. 4 for 1 is not bad especially since they can build more aircraft but not pilots. 😊

As for the hit sounds, the 110 was hit by eight - nine rifle caliber shots - and the 110 lost it's elevator (although it's trim allows for trimming), the eight shots obviously also killed the crew and the 110 was toast - very accurate damage model.
Awesome episode taff, welcome back to IL-2.. still have immensely excellent skills even after a good rest from the IL-2 content, your one legend with this mate. Great performance over Dunkirk, just great.. hopefully friendly ground forces being evacuated managed to catch sight of all that, and not missed you and your wingmates, make them feel that the RAF is doing their part and not being absent.. as it was felt in real life. That was some SWEET air combat and damage done on the Luftwaffe.. those enemy planes downed won't be causing any damage in the upcoming battle of britain, that's for certain. Terribly misunderstood is Dunkirk for the RAF, this did them a good amount of justice.. Well done mate, really.. Well done.. loved this, really did. Your IL-2 content is epic, keep it up and well done again mate 👍
oh my, a super rare occurance.. I think the number of times you ran out of fuel could probably be counted on one hand. Thank you Taff, that was a nice sortie
Unfortunately none of the correct 1940 versions of any of the aircraft are available in the game. What he has is as close as it gets without going to Cliffs
The Hurricane. Without it, the Brits lose the Battle of Britain. Stable platform. Maneuverable. Dependable and tough. Quicker to land, replenish oxygen, refuel, rearm and return to combat than the Spit. Easier and faster to repair than a Spit. Easier to train on than a Spit. Available in good numbers. Sir Sydney Camm: Hurricane, Typhoon, Tempest. What a legend. The free world is forever in his debt.
The hurricane is undoubtedly a beast but you can't really compare it to the spit. They are both incredible and we're vital to the battle of Britain in their own ways. The spit would put perform the hurricane in almost every aspect. Speed, climb rate, high altitude performance etc. I think saying without it, the Brits lose the battle of Britain is a stretch, when every single aircraft, pilot and ground crew are accountable for what was achieved in the Battle of Britain
@@gibbo61880 If the RAF had nothing but Spitfires they would have lost the battle of Britain. The Hurricane won the BoB. That's *not my opinion* of events. The shelves of libraries and bookstores groan under the weight of experts' analysis of the Battle of Britain from the tactical, strategic, technological, political/morale and and logistical standpoints. I urge you to read some. I particularly recommend Terraine's _The Right of the line_ as well as overall analysis by Walter Boyne and others.
@@bbb462cid I'm completely aware of the impact of the hurricane. The point I'm making is if the RAF only had hurricanes, they too would have lost the Battle of Britain. The Spitfire provided air dominance in areas the hurricane couldn't and vice versa
I love the Hurricane, such a cool plane, truly a pleasure to fly. That having said, I'm not a fan at all of the .303's as they are horribly underpowererd compared to the 20 mm's. You however seem to be able to make them work quite well for you, well done!
is it me or are the ships invulnerable in this mission. multiple seem to take direct bombs with no damage another great video taff but. How the hell did you run out of fuel lol!
There is a reserve fuel tank in front of the pilot's cabin in Hurricane. It would be ridiculous if you didn't check that tank and jumped out of a perfectly good plane.
It's kind of cheating to fly a Hurricane IIB in May 1940... this version of the Hurricane didn't arrive at the front until a year later. The IIB had a top speed of 342 mph at 22,000 feet - just as fast as the Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 at that altitude. (Although the Hurricane was much slower at low altitude.)
"Do not risk your aircraft; we will be needing it for tomorrow."
Thats a paddlin'

Taff, you’re a genius, great voiceover, must be tricky making an interesting miniflick from game footage. Good job, old boy!
*"Where's the bloody air force?!"*
_repeat please_
The Hurricane is such a beautiful fighter.
Yeah I know I'm in the minority because the Spits are also gorgeous and more recognised, but the Hurricane is my fave!
@AntonyStrus in this game i kinds prefur the hurricane because those 40s go brrr

that close you could have made the beach 😁
Actually, the "shotgun" (version with the 12 .303s) was delivered starting in early 1941, with the first ones produced in February of that year.

Also unfortunately a literal blast furnace with the pilot inside once the wing fuel tanks ignited...
@@Lyssor a trait not uncommonly shared with other nation's aircraft, and not nearly as susceptible as some however.

Great mission.
Another wonderfull series in sight. Be ready to take off! :)
Coolest early war bird. Hands down.
Boy your gonna get a chewing out for losing an aircraft due to running out of fuel! Lol
Nice work on your various videos. Really enjoy them.

Tafs back in the air 🙌🙌🙌
I'm guessing the Squadron Commander had a few words with you upon returning to base👍

another great video taff but. How the hell did you run out of fuel lol!
I like the Hurricane, even if its slow.
I just wish 1c would abandon Clod and get the team fusion guys helping them to get a battle of Britain module for great battles

Very hard with only rifle calibre weapons but 4 is outstanding.
He did have 12 of them, rather than the standard eight 0.303! Not sure how he managed to get his hands on a Mk-II Hurri in May 1940 though!
Riding the 'cane train to Dunkirk...
you can always tell the pilot is an old hand from the dawn Patrol days ;)
Hmm…a Hurricane MK2B covering the evacuation of Dunkirk? That would have been great if it was just for Bomber interception.
.... i thought i knew that tune at the beginning... It is battle music in WoTS...
Typical Taff, not watching the fuel gauge again .. :D
Nice vid
403rd Squadron? Come on Taff, us Brits say 403 Squadron! We're not Americans, you know 😀
Isn't most of the 400 squadrons Canadian?

When did il 2 BOS come out with a BOB dlc?
This campaign is a player created add on which uses BOS' Normandy map.
