Hey Vallun, which class do you think is the "most convenient" class to have as a main for a "can-do-all" character? Not the best of the best but one I can just log in and chill with in most content. Standing for me between Ranger (not fun in instanced as dps imo), Revenant (pretty stale but fun and comfy in instanced dps) or Necro (just really like the dual swords now) but haven't really considered others.
I enjoy your videos man. great stuff. Could i ask about WvW? I'm loving the new s/s necro and i'm using it with reaper. will it be fine to do WvW with zerker gear? My hp is 19.7k. I aint played in years and would love to play my build in all content if possible, cheers for any input :)

For Warrior Staff. I tested Qheal Zerker in strikes and its ok but i rather bring my , now buffed (Mace), Alac Druid if a healer is needed. In openworld, staff does so little dmg, even on a dps build, there is no reason to run it over other weapon options.
Its better than it was, but I still dont see a use for it besides auto attacking a stationary boss in PvE. I managed to get one decent fight in WvW where I got all the abilities off and it did ok barrier, but even on minstrel stats, my scourge can output more on one button for about the same cooldown. I think first fix is let us auto attack allies, second is make the barrier more immediate and predicatble.
engineer has other ways to do damage, if you use those for dps and save the shortbow for other things its possible, never said its best @@ivanruzic2592

The answer: not a chance. The only thing that shortbow does to enemies is stun on 5; everything else is pure support. Might and barrier on 2, heal and cleanse on 3, protection and aegis on 4 and superspeed and the aforementioned daze on 5. Yes, engi has pistols as condi weapons, and rifle 2 does have bleed, but dps is not shortbow's purpose.

I'm real sad about the engi shortbow being crap. I was hoping for a field detonation type damage wep. I was also hoping guardian pistols would be hybrid for a full ranged DH build with longbow.
It's not complete garbage. A shortbow 3 and 4 are dark and fire combo fields respectively, and 2 and 5 are blast finishers. And engi shortbow isn't meant to be damage; its purpose is SUPPORT. Oh sure, it does damage, but not enough to make it worth your time if you play dps. Its worth only shows as weapon on a heal build. Same as mesmer rifle and warrior staff; those weapons are support only. Those weapons won't find much use outside of support builds.
As for the Necromancer part, I cant agree to the Harbinger setup. Harbinger is mostly a Condi build, even with the power traits from the Harbinger, which are weak, it makes no sense to need the passive healing from Blight regen. But for Reaper however, we now have a ranged weapon swap for when our Greatsword just cant reach. The reaper is able to regain health on close combat hits because of its traits and the sustain from the Swords alone is more than enough even without that. I can see use of the Harbinger setup in WvW though, as Harbinger is extremely strong it that game mode.
so it looks like guardian, thief, necro and ranger are the winners of this update, while the rest are either really bad or needs buffs, possibly even a rework
@@Vallun Sure, but it really feels like those classes I mentioned got the most of this update, while the rest are mediocre at best and wont be worth taking in PvE (surely most of it will be viable in pvp and wvw, since its a playground of the dead things that aren't working well in PvE)

There's no way they could have added condi's to the Necro swords. Condi/Celestial Reaper was already great, these swords push it into overdrive. Phandrel has a good open world example.

Can always just choose to not use those weapons for open world builds (which is what the video is geared towards). There aren’t traditional caster weapons that ele doesn’t use at this point so they need to expand into unconventional weapons now.
Oh cmon, these are cool weapons! Hammer is like shamans from WoW, daggers feels like playing Aang from Last Airbender. Pistol is odd weapon but being elemental spellslinger is cool! If you want just magical weapons for ele, you already have it - staff, scepter and focus are most magical weapons in game. And elementalist is not mage. 😋 Its more like shaman/druid from other games. If you want play more mage-like profession, go with mesmer or necro, even guardian with the staff is more like mage archetype. 🧙♂️

Exactly . I'm main Mesmer and I was so eager to find a more bursty way to play the rifle aside for the support one and Vallum came in handy

Your necromancer takes Blood Magic 3, "Blood Bond" but you don't have a way to inflict bleeding on opponents. What's the strategy there?
there isnt a better choice really, but you can still get bleeding by dodging, look at the blood magic trait, or staff 2

nope, its a condi build with dagger off hand so you want condi dmg
For Chronomancer the spamtasms should be more than 6 time with the trait Chronophantasma. Not sure how many can be fitted in Continium split.

yes because rifle isnt that big of a portion of engineer builds anyway
@@Vallun No it cannot, as shortbow has no dps AT ALL to use it like that. Shortbow is support weapon only. You want dps, use double pistols instead.
