Clarification. RCS is coming to the Messages app not iMessage. Confusing I know but the Messages app is what you use to send SMS, MMS, iMessages and soon RCS messages.
Thats literally the reason why apple put this out in the first place. They were under pressure because of gate keeping. The type of phone we have should not affect they way we communicate with each other @diogo1502
You are mistaken. iPhone users do not exclusively use iMessage. We have family that has Android. So, we share media via WhatsApp or Instagram messages. Apple knows this. If they didn’t, they would not support this change.
Probably not, there a lot of people who just find WhatsApp a better option, like me, tho the iMessage To RCS will be nice to text android users who don’t have Whatsapp.
Some of us who are in the USA use iMessage as well as 3rd party apps. Also some of us use both Operating Systems too. Yes this is definitely a dream come true but let's see how this plays in the upcoming months.
@@xenicat lol, it's SMS labeled as imessage, same technology since pagers in the 90's. Apple does have a good marketing team that makes you believe they have the latest tech
Yeah yeha yeah, it doesn’t matter. Apple isn’t adding RCS to their phones, they’re adding support for iMessage-RCS joint messaging. Your android phone with RCS STILL would’ve used SMS if you were chatting with an Apple user back then.

A feature android has had for years.
It hasn't been that long
@@SuperSteph5 yes it has. 2+ years ive had wifi messaging which later turned into RCS
@@bmo14laxand guess what, iMessage is 4x older than that.

Great news for those of us who love Droid in a house of iPhones..
I love how Nothing announced a way to have Imessage on Android exclusive to their phone and then Apple did this 😅😂😂
Exactly 😂😂😂😂, they were triggered
@@diogo1502 Exactly, they were actually forced due to EU regulations and push by Google and Samsung.
Nothing isn't moving the needle on acting Apple is doing. It's purely a proactive movement to keep EU regulators from pursuing monopoly charges
what app is that?
Clarification. RCS is coming to the Messages app not iMessage. Confusing I know but the Messages app is what you use to send SMS, MMS, iMessages and soon RCS messages.
I don’t think it will. Apple being Apple, they will implement it in a way that still discriminates against Android users!

Yeah they already are. It will be RCS but not encrypted and Android phones will still be green bubble
I just got iPhone 15 pro max and it has RCS messaging!

Yes we do in the usa
I'm the US. Yes there are a few who use other messaging but may still use only iMessage.
is this an answer to the nothing phone 2's solution to iMessage? kinda looks like it
Thank you for elaborating...

is this start of the end of Whatsapp
Probably not, there a lot of people who just find WhatsApp a better option, like me, tho the iMessage To RCS will be nice to text android users who don’t have Whatsapp.
I hope so, I hate the UI of WhatsApp... If I could I would've switched to only iMessage a long time ago!
Wait… it’s April 1st?
Check the date
If only there were some way to update the SMS protocol like every other standard can be updated.
Then it would break many incredibly old phones that use SMS. No phone with that as it’s standard has the possibility of handling an update that huge
I honestly knew this was gonna happen sooner or later.
If they'd kept been adamant, the EU would've made them do it...
"Why" is the million dollar question that needs answering.
Monopoly, apple is in their own ecosystem and competition with their selves.

My question is when the official release date going to come out
Amazing news
They're gonna find a way to make it crappy I garuentee it. Probably some as stupid look for rcs, make the bubbles bright red or something like that
Or bare minimum support. Security and images
@@NoThankUBeQuiet turns out they plan on just leaving them bright green so that people can't tell when it's an rcs or sms message

First time seeing this after realizing I have RCS on IOS 18
Small Correction :
*RCS will work along side imessage*
It's NOT COMING TO imessage itself
When RCS message works on iPhones?
iMessage
MMS: Blue bubbles
SMS: Green bubbles
Google messages
MMS/SMS: light blue bubbles
There is going to be no big reason to switch back to an iPhone after RCS Messaging
Screw exclusivity
Nothing be like DUDE! seriously!
