Good video and I always found Optimus primal and Megatron toys very interesting, like why his battle mask looks like that or why Megatron got bat wings on the back of his head
Early Beast Wars figures featured a "Mutant head" gimmick. Primals mask and the bat wings that snap together on Megatron are both their mutant heads. You can see it behind Cheetors main head as well. I THINK the figures in Rattraps size class lacked them entirely. As a side note, Waspinator's head in the show was actually based on his mutant head
I had the original ultra class Optimus and Megatron and they were extremely fun at the time when I was a kid. Optimus, especially with all of the hidden weapons and play features.
He was the most fun too, what with the swords, mace and hidden cannons. I still think his original look had the best color scheme too. The metallic blues with dark grey, whites and reds worked really well. Don't know what they were thinking with Optimal Optimus, though...
Great as usual Mangmotion. I loved Beast Wars and their toys when I had them. The Mask and the Flail on Optimus always confised me, i never saw either on the show, unless I missed something?

For those of us growing up with the G1 toys and animated series, this Kenner rethink of Transformers sure divided the fanbase. "Trukk, not munky" 😄! To think it's been 26 years already since Beast Wars made their debut. Still have mine in my display room, but I hope to offload these soon to an online store specializing in buying collections. I've had a great time as a collector, though. No real regrets, other than of course my parents ordering me to throw away all my Transformers packaging back in '89 when we were moving to a new place. A very bad decision in hindsight, but hey, it is what it is.
I wish Hasbro gave us the more show accurate repaints and head molds of Primal and Megatron like the 10th anniversary editions. They just got lazy with these.
This was planned. They went all out for the Kingdom figures. These were a deliberate means to re-release the 90's figures and as someone who was born in 1996, I really appreciate their return to form with these vintage figures. So far I've got all but Megatron and am looking forward to the rest.
@@bahrahfahofficial1158 From what I read and watched about the WFC figures, many of them have serious quality control issues including the Beast figures. Also, I don’t see why it would have been so hard to use the more show-accurate head sculpts and more paint applications like they did with the 10th anniversary figures. They’re not a return to form when the 10th anniversary, Legend, and Telemocha Primal and Megatron figures were done better.

By TM Megatron hopefully with better plastic without those GPS. I don't move mine anymore, the risk is too high.

So pretty much the masks are a gimmick, and the flail might have been a cut weapon
I believe lore wise, the masks were to hide their robotic head with a natural one
