Have you seen the Metro network that has been rolled out, the extensive toll/motor ways, the second airport. Sydney moves a lot faster than anywhere else in Australia
Yes I have. I live in Sydney part of the year@@asjeot It doesn't move anywhere near as quickly considering the economic strength of the country. The Western Sydney airport was first suggested in the 90's. It will be opening in 2026 with transport taking passengers to St Marys?!? Lol not even direct to Parramatta...craziness. The M5 was meant to be free after a certain year...now the tolls are back. The Metro...finally...but the other line extensions seem a decade away. FYI have you looked at the Crossrail project in London with the award winning Elizabeth Line? The difference here is London also had to deal with digging an exisiting underground line, lots of buildings (some historical), and even WW2 bombs and gravesites. This build took 13 years and was Europe's largest infrastructure project at the time...hence my point that Homebush is planning to complete a few buildings and the metro extension in 25 years.
Regulation. Government has to take their cut to pay for overbloated agencies instead of putting tax payer money into productive enterprises. It’s why Australia is basically one big mine, digging coal and iron to sell to countries that actually make stuff and doesn’t actually make anything itself. That money is taken by the wealthiest parts of society to invest in property speculation and eventually the bubble will burst, causing economic stagnation for 10-15 years, similar to what happened in Japan in the 90s, but Japan actually makes stuff, so Australia will be like a house of cards compared to Japan.
Honestly the music and video rendering is really good! Big step up from the 2030 master plan video. With that being said I hope the public realise these are just renders and usually reality won’t look anything close to it lol
You sound like a developer or builder. Residents live there for the abundant of greenery (it’s Olympic PARK) not cement concrete views into other peoples bathrooms and bedrooms. There needs to be a balance, there are proposals of three towers that can go up to 40 stories already at the metro. There needs to be contrast otherwise high dense towers all cramped into olympic park will turn it into a concrete jungle.
@@MikuXP Good Point - the tents and tarps we will be living in because of short-sighted, and slow projects will not block the view of the greenery as much as a skyscraper. Like, sorry - if you moved into a city suburb - don't expect it to remain the same for decades. I don't care about your view if I spend 2-3 hours in public transport everyday. whilst i am quite excited for the plans, I am worried about how noise might affect future residents. I do want Olympic Park to be an events precinct, given that an alternative precinct (entertainment quarters) will be an hour away from Olympic Park. however, hearing tales of new residents moving in to events precincts, only to complain about the noise (which they should've expected) is quite worrying. A similar tale is affecting entertainment quarters. idk i can only think of noise dampeners and noise insulation, i hope you guys have solutions. looking forward to the result!
The tracks to the Olympic train station cross freight train lines, meaning it is blocked from having a normal through connection from Parramatta to Central. To get to Rhodes from Olympic station requires changing two train lines, Lidcombe to Strathfield , then onto Rhodes. Build a train line direct to Rhodes.
It would suck to live in the Olympic Park precinct - whenever there's major events e.g. concerts, sporting events, all the roads get clogged and there's major congestion on the roads.
SOP now charges amateur field hockey (NSW hockey) 30k just to host one national league match. So hockey is now forced to play elsewhere this year due to the exorbitant costs, what a shame for the game and its athletes to not be able to play at Olympic Park. The Melbourne state hockey and netball centre is well ahead of what Sydney has now, SOP needs to work with the hockey stakeholders rather than trying out make exorbitant profits from an amateur game.
@@prismaticmarcus Doesn't always work that way. Its like people moving next to already established pubs/clubs/music venues, then complaining about the noise/music coming from the area, forcing the venues to close or amend trading hours.
Totally unsustainable and the local wetlands already can’t cope. Olympic Park is a refuge from the over-urbanisation of the surrounding area. Keep it that way.

Great, youtube comment bot got my message. I want people to know that this place needs a bit of work before you add more tax payers to fill your city skylands dream entertainment area. It's already a pain getting in and out when there is a majour event going on. Not only that. The noise that comes from the stadiums.

Not enough parking. You're removing all the open air parking but want people to go there at the same time as putting more people there. Not everyone lives on the public transport lines. At least there's more ways to get out unlike Rhodes.
