Chris is a wealth of information. I didn't know Laos had a digital nomad visa. I'm sure Laos would get a lot more visitors if people knew that. In Thailand the TM. 30 is easy. Residence owners are required to file that when foreigners stay at their place. It's required to show a copy of it when doing visa changes and extensions. The 90-day report is form TM. 47. The first report must be done in person (or through an agent), but subsequent reports can be done online. That's excellent advice near the end. Spend a year in the country first. Don't get married or buy land when you first arrive. The exact same advice applies to Thailand. I read all kinds of comments on videos with people saying they're going to sell everything and move to Thailand... but they've never even visited the country!? They're basing their impressions on a few videos that make the place sound like paradise. Anybody that comes in with such high expectations is bound to be disappointed. I lost count of all the people I've heard say, "I'm never going back!" Every one of those people eventually left the country. 😅
From what I gather it's all LA-B2. I am not aware of anything called digital nomad visa. The agents I know will not process an LA-B2 without a work permit, because LA-B2 are work visas. Not sure what happens if the work permit is omitted. Vientiane has many brick and mortar offices in certain neighborhoods, so no sketchy alley deals (lol), and they have been in operation for years. Typical prices are as follows: Invitation letter: $100. With the invitation letter you get one month initially, which you can extend by another 3! months, and do can do this twice. One 3 month extension is 40-60 USD with an agent. One year visa with work permit and stay permit: another 3-400 dollars. Total for one year and one month: 400-500. After first year, renewal: 3-400 for another year. That is it. I know at least 2 places like this, as long as you have a Western or East Asian passport these are the prices. I would not pay more than that. If interested, respond with a way to reach you and I am happy to help. If you have trust issues, you can first arrive on a tourist visa and then do this in person. In Laos nobody is going to scam you in a sketchy alley way, it is a very safe country and all these agents have real offices that are open every workday....
Interesting question. Haven’t heard anything regarding this but can’t imagine Laos cares. They’re so easy and welcoming. Pay the money, with picture and passport and you’ve got yourself a one year multiple entry visa renewable in the country each year.
Hello. Great informative video! Visiting Laos from US late October. Info out on the web various. So I have 2 questions. 1. Is it possible to get multiple entry visa? 2. What is the fee and how long is the stay?
Glad it was helpful. Yes, definitely possible. I paid about $700 for the digital nomad visa, which is one year multiple entry visa. I'm not sure if there's other options, but Chris would be able to tell you. His Facebook and WhatsApp are in the video description. Shoot him message. He's quick to respond.
@@LaoLegends We'll be in Laos for just 2 weeks, but plan to enter Nong Khai Thailand, then back to Laos. I guess that's considered multi-entry. So if we purchase the multi-entry visa, 1) how much $ and 2) how many times can we enter Laos?
The immigration offices which are available in most of the bigger cities people are traveling through is where you can renew it yourself for $30 or Chris' company can help you do it and his contact information is in the video description.
@@lextor4712I would like to know this too. I have friends in Thailand I've stayed there a couple times they have a restriction to show 40,000 Thai baht in a bank coming in every month to be able to stay there. The Philippines to my knowledge has no money requirement you just keep extending for 3 years leave for a day come right back and it's unlimited I've heard of people staying for years and years never having to get a Visa just extending. I was wondering if Laos was also like that or what the money requirement was to show. It would be awesome to have a certain amount you can pay for the year without any income requirement but Thailand makes it difficult in that situation
@@andrewbrann6231 Laos some options: • 1 year business visa with work permit through visa agent $700 per year and can be renewed in the . Multiple entry visa it is. You can go out and in as you please. • Digital nomad visa less than $500 a year for 1 year visa. Thailand: You're friends must be all either over 50 years old or married to a Thai which makes it easier to stay there. Otherwise there is a new Thai Privilege (Elite) visa launching just now: 650'000 THB for 5 years. The new DTV visa is getting very popular right now. (remote worker/digital nomad visa & proof of financial assets of 500'000 THB besides other things) Vietham: You can easily stay for long as you please if you just get the single entry e-visa for 90 Days. $25 if done on official government site. And then you can either fly in and out of the country or what I recommend do a "bus visa run". Can be done on the same day with an agency and will give you 90 days once again. Rinse and repeat. Philippines: It's not like that anymore where you can just stay 3 years easily without leaving the country since Oct. 2024. These days whenever you want to extend your tourist they'll ask you for the reason your staying there. When you've been in PH 1 year the intake form will look different and they will ask even more questions. If you don't have a good reason there's a chance they won't let you extehd after 1 year. Even a visa agent won't be able to help you here. Here is what they are looking for: 1. Ticket leaving the country. So if you have a ticket leaving the country they will grant you an additional extension. 2. Filipino family/wife 3. Bank statement/preferably from Filipino bank 4. Job offer/contract 5. Medical certificate declaring some type of medical problem. :They don't care if you have a lease there:
We filmed a 2025 visa video Friday... Chris was always incredibly full of life every time we met and helped so many of us create a life in Laos. RIP my friend
Can you ask your question again? I'm not sure what a U.S. re entry permit is and what it's got to do with Laos. A U.S. citizen only needs some passport photos and about $40 for the visa on arrival.
@LaoLegends a U.S re entry permit is like a travel document for people who is living in the United States that are not U.S citizens but are a permanent resident. Since they can't get a passport this acts as their passport. Can they use this to travel to laos? Can they use their Refugee travel document?

As far as I know it's normal dating rules and you're fine to travel together. The only problems I've heard people have with the law here are from married men messing around or messing around in small villages.
@@LaoLegendssorry mate you are not correct. Yes can travel together but as a foreigner you cannot sleep together with a Laos citizen overnight unless you are married, it is a breach of Laos family law rules in other words technically need to have two hotel rooms . Hello
Hi and Welcome :)
I heard right now, the laos government extended visa for the foreigners 90days = 3 months, it's right or not?
Yes sirrrr, that's correct. You get a 30 day visa but can renew it within the country very easily twice, which gives you 90 days total. :)
@LaoLegends Is it still the case that you just pay $600 for a one year visa with no requirements but showing your passport?
