MIMO is note an lgorithm, but a characteristic description for dynamic systems, which stands fo Multiple Input, Multiple Output. it simply means that the Dirac system takes information from multiple speakers, process it and outputs the results to multiple speakers. Since most HT setups are based on small speakers that cannot go below 80Hz, this feature isn't relevant to most users. I prefer DLBC with 4 independent subs, a feature planned for the upcoming Denon X4800H and above.
the advantage this has over DLBC that it works up to 500hz. in my room the 120hz-500hz region is a pain in the ass, hard to fix without expensive room treatments and changing the layout and measuring a thousand times
So far, I haven’t heard anything that comes close to the Trinnov. Still the best tech out there for me.
Wish I could afford it. Priced the same as a small car. Lol
Still holding onto my RS20i. Really like the way Dirac Live customized their software for different processors. Hope this one will come out great too.
I REALLY hope they include this in the upcoming higher end Denon products. I was debating upgrading to a DLBC AVR but now.. I think I may want to wait till this is announced.
Reading about this tech is awesome. It reminds me a lot of the correction that the L800s SDA incorporate that work very well.
Cannot wait for this to come to market.. hopefully soon!
Nice - I have a MK1 Storm Integrated Amp and full Ascendo setup, but have battled a bad null in my room for years, so this could be highly beneficial.
Definitely need good output along with range. Love how the latest Storm audio units features such new hardware and software.
I believe Genelec similarly reinforces bass through its GLM Smart speaker system - good times for hardcore home theater enthusiasts!
Too bad it cost a fortune for a full setup.
Thanks
This will be a very nice feature...
Earl Geddes pioneer this a while ago to even out room modes. Good it takes traction as scientific approach is always a step forward.
Will DLBC provide any benefit for someone who has no subs? I have some full-range main speakers that are more than capable of producing clean and loud bass down to the lowest frequencies. While these speakers are biampable, the frequency at which they split is 3kHz because of their unusual cross over design, so I don't biamp them. The speakers are VMPS Super Tower III. I already have Dirac Live Room Correction on my Denon AVR-x4800h receiver.
1. Will DLBC help me in any way? (No subs, but more than capable full-range speakers)
2. Will I be forced to purchase DLBC to get ART?
Running a REL on each speaker with high levels. Have your best two subs also get LFE. Run full range on each channel. ARC/Audyssey should be able to calibrate. I think you tried REL 3D a few times. I
Thank you very much for the video. Does Dirac bass control worth it if I have only one subwoofer??
No
With the storm can you set both low and high pass filters and it work with dirac. E.g. With trinnov you can do low pass at 120hz and high pass at 45hz.
You're not locked at 120hz or 45hz with Trinnov. It's variable.
No more "room gain" for sealed subwoofer with this active room treatement since all subwoofer work together to cancel room mode?
Pretty sure any of the receivers/devices that support dirac live can also support this new process without a problem. It would be that extra push towards Dirac verses just using plain Audyssey which a lot of people are fine with.
All I know is that I continue to get loan noise signal errors when I try to use dirac. And a dealer also told me thatdirac is a pain to work with to. They aint gonna tell you that unless you ask them.
It sounds like you just don't have the volume calib step right. Its pretty simple, but requires reading a kind of longer than normal setup manual.
If using a Pioneer or Onkyo model they have a subwoofer level bug that needs special attention detailed in a thread - I can get link for that if so if you have one of those units like me.
Now the advanced stuff? Yeah. It's very in depth. But just adjusting bass boost is very simple which is all most do afterwards if they like.
@@mroldgreg wtf .
Interesting if ARC genesis will bring that calibration
Doubt it
@@therealshanelee let’s see
ARC needs to fix what they have before adding anything. It's taking forever.
Shane: This is like 30 pages, I’m not reading this, come on man! 🤣
DLBC?
www.audioholics.com/room-acoustics/dirac-live-spatial
Just wondering, how many of viewers do you think own trinnov, its a thinker
I get comments and emails daily. It’s more than you might think.
@@therealshanelee I guess I better do a better job of saving my money then
trinnov is going down hooohaw
Trinnov already do something similar where by the bass from the atmos channels in ceilings gets automatically routed to the nearest bed layer speakers...then sub bass to the subs. Dirac wont be able to do this. Also trinnov measures and records the speakers locations in the horizontal, vertical and depth planes....then has the ability to create phantom channels to correct for speakers that are not in the ideal locations. Dirac cant do any of this. But as Gene pointed out the use of bass drivers in all speakers to fix nulls is something that is NOT part of the current trinnov optimizer. But would be an easy add-on for trinnov due to their software based platform. Sorry Gene but storm audio even with this dirac memo aint even close to beating the trinnov optimizer. Another example the trinnov 32 works all channels in 192khz domain your storm audio only does 48khz. Yes I sound like a trinnov fanboy but am just stating some of the facts here. Keep up the good work guys
Like Gene said and I can confirm. They are working on something similar.
Like the Name No Shoes
@@jimmy2shoes75 thank you sir
Shane, ya ain't gunna win vs the engineer.
He knows what he's talking about.
Win what? We didn't debate anything.
What the hell is this video about I don't understand anything.
Why are you watching then?
@@sneakyp1484 because in order for me to know I didn't understand anything I had to watch it
It's ok because by the sounds of it they don't understand either 🤣
@@totalplonker824 there must be a monetary incentive for posting videos like this
It’s called a short. It seems like YT requires content makers to do them to ensure the algorithms don’t kill their channels. This short was likely cut out of a much longer video between Shane and Gene.
