Click here 35:36 if you just want the part that deals with the question of Jesus' secrecy in Mark. I hope you'll take the time to hear it all but I also realize your time is valuable and you may just need that info right away.
Think some scholars may have over thought a bit. Jesus practices what he preaches Matthew 6:3-4 So when you give to the needy, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.…It is also about timing if Jesus instead said tell everyone then that is a message for the world which he does after his time of going to the Jews and is crucified but the message would be different if he sent the word to the world before his sacrifice. Yes the message spreads anyway but that is without the stamp of approval from Jesus. We only need to look at the bible to see how far and wide a message with approval will spread even with the world trying to shut it down. We know that timing is very important when it comes to Jesus life ministry death and resurrection so this is charity timing and instruction it is also proof you can exercise your will he was told don't but he did. I am sure there is more but it takes a village and then some.
Thank you so much for these. You have helped me so much through your videos understanding the Bible better and you have also corrected or confirmed and explored many spiritual teachings that I was taught throughout my life. Thank you brother! You are doing Gods work
SPOT ON about the "if you're willing" prayers. "Because I love You and I trust You, I want what You want." AMEN. I've always thought that. I've known people who pretty much command God to heal and do certain things...it seems so...."cringe-worthy" (forgive me, I work at a middle school haha). I've prayed many times for my back problems/heart problems to be healed, and people have told me to stop saying "Lord, if You're willing..." but I truly believe that's the biblical and humble way to ask Him. Who are we to command God, and what makes us think we're wiser than Him about what's best in our lives for our good and His glory? He loves us enough to say no sometimes, and He's even been so gracious as to show me from time to time how he's using my physical ailments to put me in different situations for His glory. How cool that He allows me to see His hand at work!

God is consistent! "You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise." Psalms 51:16-17
Pastor Mike, thank you for your ministry. I try to watch all the ads on your videos to support what you do. Also, I’m making it a personal goal to check out all your videos. You are such a blessing! Like so pastor Mike can feel encouraged!
I am loving this series. What a beautiful blend of apologetics, cultural context, theology, and practical application. Thank you and with much love from Montreal, Canada. 🙏
I almost missed the joke you made around the 16minute mark. Benny Hinn takes his jacket off, swings it around as the music plays and the anointing hits and someone gets healed...... that was a great line the way you delivered it. FYI I sadly have attended Benny Hinn conferences when I was a child. I’ve been de-brainwashed since then but I do see exactly what you mean every time you mention him. Love your page dude, thank you educating me in the truth of the word of God. I love learning and digging deeper into my faith.
I Love You Mike with the Love of Christ...you are so knowledgeable and confident in what ever you speak about. Also, I have noticed you are not afraid to speak the truth in love. Man, I really enjoy everything you speak about. It has expanded my knowledge and understanding of the Bible. Thank you Mike!!
a few years ago when I would hear the "if you WILL Lord, you can make me whole." "go I WILL" I thought it was like Will ya do this for me, or I will open.... But one day it hit me that it was I WILL it.
I don't like to look at it like they killed him. I feel it takes away from Who our savior was and still is. I just say that he sacrificed himself for us. No one killed him.
Thanks for this Mike Winger! Love that you incorporate apologetics with the study. So many in the church are being affected by bad teaching in our time. I am currently seeing that in my own church - elements of the progressive movement, 1/2 a Gospel, etc. So often this hides as an undercurrent in church instead of being exposed. Be encouraged, this is a great thing you’re doing!
@Mike Winger Hey Pastor Mike I have a request to ask if I may. There is a youtube channel refuting the Bible claiming that they've studied Hebrew and Greek visited Egypt and Galilei. The channel is called "The real Merkabah" could you do a video on this. It's a challenging area for me to tackle given I can barely claim to know a fraction of the history he sites. Love this channel by the way, it's been a place I can go when I dont have answers. Thank you pastor Mike
Another great teaching. I admire the way you carefully look at the issues. For example, on the marriage of Peter, you could have easily said the Greek of 1 Corinthians doesn't really support "women" (as you did) and left it at that. Instead, you examined the arguments people make to escape the obvious reading, making your case much stronger.
Brother Mike, my family and I are just edified and blessed by these series. Thank you for the work you do for the Kingdom. May the Lord continue to use you and bless you abundantly.
I love and find it extremely helpful that you often point out points of attack on the Bible, e. g. here with the difference between illness and demon possession. Bit by bit we are thus pointed to arguments from other groups and ways to do apologetics against these arguments. Thank you very much.
I don’t know where i stand spiritually anymore. Mike, your Channel helps me ( i find you sincere and authentic), however, even the first part of this video reminds me of the division amongst Christians (I was raised Catholic). I feel in my heart like the topic of God shouldn’t be this difficult - where every word and sentence is argued from all different angles. Constantly. It’s exhausting, to be honest. I have no problem falling on my face in front of the Lord - I just fear humans have complicated and distorted things so much that i won’t be able to truly do this until the second coming. Open to any suggestions if you have them, Mike, but for now I find the peace I’m looking for more in nature. In my baby son’s smile. In my dog’s tail wag. Not sure if you can feel me, here. Thank you for your work - I will continue to remain open-minded to all possibilities.
Anthony Gianpetro hi Anthony! Former Catholic here. Spent 12 years in Catholic school and came from four generation of right wing South American Catholics!!! All I can say is follow and live through the Bible. The Bible is the truth, the way, and the foundation of belief. I used to be a hardcore devotee to the Virgin Mary. Light candles, said rosaries , etc... UNTIL .. I read the Bible completely. The OT blew my mind. God is jealous and adamant that we not worship anything man made. Then the NT had zero stories about Mary being the queen of heaven. Guess what? When I stopped lighting candles and saying rosaries to Mary..... nothing happened. Nothing at all! No bad things or negative consequences. She became a wooden statue to me. In fact there was an element of relief in my room. Any help I can offer please let me know.
I didn't know I would click on this video today but I wanted to see one of your mark series videos and I wouldn't know from the title that you would go into the idea of singleness and marriage but it was a real blessing to see this video. This has been something that has been on my mind a lot and I'm surrounded by a lot of people who kinda... Speak a lot about the blessings of marriage but not so much about the blessings of singleness. I have been kinda getting influenced by it and it's been causing me anxiety actually... It was a real blessing to hear you speak of how singleness is also a blessing and not a unvaluable way of living our lives on earth.
"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves." Philippians 2:3 Humbly serve others following the perfect example of Jesus. He said that He came not to be served but to serve others and give His life for others. (Matthew 20:28). Let us be humbled by the awesomeness and greatness of God and the unworthiness of ourselves. CS Lewis said that true humility is not thinking less of yourselves but rather thinking of yourself less. Let us look each day for opportunities to serve God and thus others, and be empowered by the Spirit to do these things glorifying God. Hopefully this impacted you positively today. God bless you!
24 minutes .. not just prayer but prayer and fasting.... Fasting has been removed by some translations. Yes this is excellent Mike, you are right. I must also check what you say... Great work by the way, I'm loving the study.

Yes!! Part 7!! I'm excited to hear down the road, your thoughts on Mark 13:35 ... particularly about the rooster crowing. Seems that Mark intentionally put this in there so we could get an understanding of what Jesus is talking about in Mark 13/ Matthew 24/ Luke 21
Mike, you will find it interesting how Jesus deals with people he heals. He uses the senses that are lacking on the blind and deaf to communicate what he will do. Putting spit/water on the eyes of the blind so they could feel what he was doing. Touching the leper. Signing to the deaf so they would see what he would do. Interesting that he does that even though shortly they would see and hear. Also, someone who is deaf does not have a vocabulary to use and many do not have a dictionary of words they can recognise. He not only heals the hearing, but gives them a dictionary of words in their mind to understand what is being said. Those who have lost the ability to walk these days due to a stroke or accident, often need to learn to walk again. Jesus heals them and gives them the ability to know how to use those muscles. He heals the body and the mind. Yet his desire in all of this is that people will have faith that he will be able to heal their soul and forgive sins. E.g. the man lowered through the roof, he prioritises forgiveness of sin over healing the body. Those he healed would eventually die, but he came to bring salvation.
The part about me + my phone.... yikes. haha 🤐 My apple screen time report for last week says I had an average of 6 hours per day of screen time, and 21 hours last week on FB/twitter/youtube apps. 😬 but some days, I "don't have time" to pray or read my Bible....... 🤔
Why Jesus was secretive is a question worthy of investigation, but whatever his reasons were, it doesn’t change the fact that while on trial, Jesus claimed to have “said nothing in secret”. (John 18:20) If speaking in parables so that certain people won’t understand his message isn’t a form of secrecy then I don’t know what is. The context of John 18:20 doesn’t change the fact that if Mark 4:11-12 is accurately reporting the words of Jesus, then Jesus lied to the high priest.
A year has past without addressing this truth. Seems intellectual honesty is often incompatible with building ones subscriber base. Salient example why some may view Christianity with contempt. The inability to acknowledge obvious dichotomies profoundly disturbs the secular impression of many Christians subjective morality.
What’s wrong with you man 😂.. maybe you don’t understand the context Jesus said nothing in secret as in he preached outwardly everything.. the accusations against Jesus was he was plotting something sinister in secret which wasn’t true ..
@@quicksilver7532 Do you assume that everyone who interprets scripture differently than you has something wrong with them? The context is that the high priest was questioning Jesus about his teaching. So about his teachings, Jesus said that he spoke openly to the world and that he said nothing in secret. Speaking in coded language so that those on the outside won't understand is the opposite of speaking openly to the world, or preaching "outwardly everything"

Hi mossaic. God's word says if we have the faith a grain of a mustard seed ( extremely small seed) God will honor that faith Matthew 17:20 Yes, God did come to us first in the form of a human - Jesus. We push away from a Holy God but He always desires to draw near to us in one way or another.
Yes you are absolutely right. His word is written in the very earth. Like that saying, “if a guy likes a girl he must ignore her.” Ask a little boy if he likes a girl in his class... what will he say? How many times does the bible indicate to stay away from the nations. The nations are that woman He wants. The nations go to Him. What did the Yahusha Jesus say when the greeks asked to speak to Him?
mossaic13 - God so loved the WORLD that he gave His one and only SON ( Jesus) that whoever believes in Him shall not parish. John 3:16 (Bible) God loves the whole world not just a select people or nation. He doesn't pretend to like some. He gave His life on the cross of Calvary for ALL so that they could be reconciled to God. Repent of our sins and turn to Him.
The Jews at that time believed the Messiah would be the only one to perform three type of miracle: 1 heal a leper :2 Raise the dead and 3 Give sight to one born blind , Jesus did all 3 and many of them missed it: or were in denial.
Popes were married until, I believe, the 14th century(?)_ The change had nothing to do with theology. It was an executive decision that was made for what was believed to be in the best interest of the church. Where Catholicism is concerned, there are things you MUST accept as truth (Christian Dogma) There are things you must do and accept to be in good standing with the Church, but you are still considered Christian either way. And there are things that are left as a matter of conscience. There are also rules that only affect the (corporate) structure of the Church. Priestly celibacy is one of those things. No scriptural foundation is really claimed or required for this.
+Marilyn Wilson..it is true..Jesus did say that occasionally.."don't tell" but what He did was by no means done or said in secret. I think He might of said that because He wanted a little more time with the people before the Pharisees heard Too Much and killed Him sooner than He wanted. He knew the murderous Pharisees and He knew what they would Do..once they realized He was messing up their Program.
kathleen Wharton exactly! I’m sorry my initial comment got lost in translation ... everything Jesus said and did was public but Jesus didn’t want attention from the Pharisees. Hence ... “please keep this to yourself” was often requested. I’m a relative new Bible reader. Read both OT and NT last year. (Former Roman Catholic here 🙄) This year I’m studying the Book of Matthew line by line. I love it! Do you have any recommendations on which NT book to study next?

Just curious. Did a quick check on that Catholic Answers thing and it doesn't quite mesh with what you are saying about what Catholics believe (www.catholic.com/tract/celibacy-and-the-priesthood) and I also googled Karl Keating and looks like he is just a lay person and apologetic who founded that site and is not an official source for new catholic opinion even if he is an apologetic. First Jesus never did anything in secret.God works in the light for He is the light. Second Jesus knew he had to reveal Himself slowly to allow those of that day to digest his words. Her spoke softly slowly but in great detail. He is the SON of GOD.
Sure, He did everything before God's and if He's Light too darkness could not apprehend including High priest who'd not able question nor answer. Hope comments heed on this too?!
@Mike winger Just a thought. Maybe it would be a good idea to cover the difference between the this and the True idea called the messianic secret. That teaches jesus' intentions in the parables and that his goal was not to convert all Israel, but that he hardened most in their rebellion with a spirit of stupor. In order to bring about the crucifixion. Because had they all rightly believed they would not of crucified the lord of glory, as Paul points out. So he wasn't drawing all people unto himself until after he was lifted up. The video was helpful. At first I'm like..... Mike... lol. Then after objectively hearing you out I understand and learned about this false idea that's out there. But at first i was like how can he not see jesus talking about this Truth before and after the cross? So it might be helpful to do one on this idea since they share the same name but are completely different? Just because I love both of you and your solid guys, maybe doing like a video with Leighton flowers on it? That would be awesome. But I get there is more points and need then time to make videos, and that you have a huge list you want to cover. You might be able to do just a live chat for an hour together with questions that would take less preparation as you'd combine what you know, rather then taking days to prepare. Just throwing some thoughts out there. Either way I appreciate the video, and your ministry, i learned something new. Praying for you.❤

It looks to me like Jesus has taken you Right There! Just always Read with Jesus Help. He will Teach you! Don't listen to the opinions of Men. That is how you get messed up. Jesus Will Teach you and Bless you! I Love you!
Why does Jesus tell those He has helped to not tell anyone about Him? Jesus wants people to hear what He has to say, and see what He is doing, before the rumors of the Messiah go around stirring up expectations. It's enough that the disciples are waiting for some big event to declare an earthly Kingdom and kick the Romans out. Can you imagine how crowds of self-taught, or merely superstitious, people swayed by the various local political groups would try to pressure Jesus into doing what they were hoping for? Jesus doesn't want this kind of friction. It could only lead to bad press and trouble before its time. So, He is saying, 'let me teach and get my message out, and I'll handle the people who see and hear me. I don't need vast crowds of doubters and detractors yet.' He knows that will happen all too soon anyway.
For the same reason that people butcher other words. They have problems with language, or they simply pronounce words the way they have always heard them pronounced.
History lesson. The pope wasn’t always supposed to be unmarried. It was a reform that created that rule. There was a group of people who thought that if priests could marry then they would transfer their post to their son and become more corrupt. I don’t agree with this rule, but, it was actually put into place for a good reason.

Mike, you didn't mention that Jesus was "indignant" (annoyed, angry) that the leper said, "If you're willing." Yes, Jesus answered his prayer with a miracle anyway, but wouldn't it be better to please the Lord with your request? I am _not_ saying that it's always God's will to heal. Timothy, Trophimus, and even Paul were not healed. I lay hands on the sick and pray every chance I get. I never pray "if it's your will." I think only about 5% are miraculously, instantaneously healed, but that's a lot better than the 0% if I didn't pray. (I saw such a healing 2 days ago.) Christian, you also ought to believe God for miracles.
@@chriswinchell1570 no I want to know what the Bible means. If the Bible disagrees with me I want to know. Because that's God's word, so I want to agree with God. I am not interested in forcing God to agree with me. Catholics don't feel that way. They are taught not to think about what the Bible means because the "church" has already decided what each passage means. Anything else is heresy. That's horrible. It makes me sick.
@@dahelmang I think you sincerely believe what you are saying . I just think everyone says the same and are equally sincere. The Catholics would not disagree with your process and end up concluding you were the one who was dogmatically adhering to some preacher/religion/book. I think the only person I’ve ever heard of who independently criticized the New Testament was Jefferson who took scissors to every verse that he thought was probably nonsense.
@@chriswinchell1570 the Catholic leaders would not allow their church members to read the Bible in their own language for 1000 years. They kept it in Latin so only people trained by their institutions could read it. They killed Tyndale and Wycliffe for trying to translate it to English. That's abuse. There are a lot of scholars who try to tear up the Bible like Jefferson sadly. People like Bart Ehrman who think they know better than the original authors. That's just as bad. If we aren't approaching God's word with humility we will not be blessed.
@@dahelmang The Catholic Church had good reasons as well as bad for keeping the liturgy in Latin. The sermon was almost always in the local language. Tyndale was killed by the direction of Henry viii who was a psychopath and later destroyed the Catholic Church in England. A year or so after he was executed, Henry authorized the Matthew Bible that tyndale had wanted. Wycliffe was certainly hated by the church but died of old age. The reformation and earlier criticisms of the Catholic Church had more to do with corruption than argument over translations. In any case, I can understand why translations are not universally welcomed. The church may have worried about losing power over the people but there was probably a legitimate concern that translations would change the meaning. After all, the Bible had already been translated from Aramaic and Greek to Latin. Scholars didn’t want to chance the errors that come form playing telephone with scripture. Fundamentally, I disagree with your conclusions. I see nothing wrong with what Jefferson did. You seem to think that you do not require an agency like the Catholic Church to interpret scripture. I would say that people like Jefferson just went one step further and questioned the content of the text. After all, what was included in the Bible was decided at the council of Nicaea. What makes you think they got it right? They looked for coherency of what they included but really didn’t look too closely at establishing facts. If they had, they would have noticed that the earliest versions of the oldest gospel, the gospel of Mark only had 8 chapters. You are right to be critical of the Catholic Church, you should be critical of all churches, and you should be critical of the text itself.
+Marilyn Wilson..You missed my point. You learn ABOUT Jesus from listening to Men. You Learn to KNOW Jesus when You listen to His Words and have personal relationship with Him. If you prefer to learn stuff about Him..and don't care to Know Him. Fine by me. Your loss.
kathleen Wharton I agree with you. As my sister in Christ I’m sure we both study diligently and look only to Jesus and His teachings to know Him and grow with Him. I was only sharing my perspective on Jesus being “secretive” in the literal sense of the word. What do you make of Jesus healing the leper and saying “tell no one”?
What??? Jesus wasn't a secrete! Everything was in the open. God/Jesus they don't & don't hide!!!! Jesus was the game changer from following the mosaic law. He became the way to follow!
I believe that Jesus kept His identity temporarily secret, so that we would need for it to be supernaturally revealed to our hearts, like with Peter, when Jesus said "blessed art thou, Simon Bar Jona, for flesh and blood have not revealed this to you, but my Father" (which I may have misquoted, but we know the passage). That was when Jesus said that _something_ or _someone_ was the bedrock upon which He would build His church: not the little stone, Peter, certainly. Now, we are taught the doctrine of who Jesus is, yet we believe it, because God has revealed the truth to our hearts. We are convicted by the Holy Spirit that it is true. If Jesus had simply proclaimed everything about His identity, it would have been easier to dismiss as a false proposition, and there would have been less time to ponder and eventually realize that He was the messiah. In fact, He would have been put to death earlier, before His whole earthly ministry was accomplished.

Mike, I like your stuff, but you're misrepresenting Catholic interpretation of scripture. Protestants in glass houses really shouldn't throw stones. The one true church doesn't claim Peter and other early church fathers weren't married, not does it even teach that only unmarried people can be priests today. In fact, there are married priests. But, most of the religious orders require celibacy (as an act of mortification and consecration) for ordination. This is rooted in Mt 19. The symbolic take away is that the priest is the representative of Christ (the bridegroom) to the church (His bride). A nice second order effect is that a conflict of interest where the priest might choose the good of his family over the good of the church can never arise if he doesn't have a wife and kids. One more point: you said Christ would never ask his followers to leave their wives for the sake of ministry and the work of God's kingdom because it's unbiblical. How do you square that with Mt 19:29, Mt 8:21-22 and other places such as his calling of the apostles? Throughout the gospels, Christ clearly highlights the idols in our lives that crowd out the center and prevent our complete submission to Him. For many of us, family (and especially spouses or children) are an idol. Who did Jesus say was His mother and brothers and sisters, again? God bless
+inTruthbyGrace..Seriously? You are telling me that Matthew chapters 5 6 7 is Not scripture! That is Jesus Gospel in HIS very OWN Words. You don't even Know Jesus Gospel. You are believing Paul's opinions! Jesus didn't have to hide anything! His Gospel is stated very clear in the First few chapters of the First book in the New Testament..and you don't even know it is There! Incredible!
First, it needs to be established that 2 Peter is a forgery. The person making the claim needs to substantiate it with evidence. It's not the other side's burden to disprove something that never was proven to begin with.

A believing wife would be a sister in Christ. Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? When the Greek word is defined during a sermon, that is undermining the modern versions. And that's good! They should be undermined. Stick with the KJV, and you will find that referring back to the Greek is unnecessary. The KJV is even better than the Greek here, because a believing wife falls short of sister, just like believing men fall short of brethren. And every modern counterfeit bible has a false gospel in 1 Corinthians 15. Did Jesus rise from the grave, or was he raised from the grave? He arose on his own (he arose, he arooose), since he is God. According to modern versions, he was raised by someone who isn't even mentioned.
The KJV objectively mistranslates the Greek in many places. Maybe you don't care - that is what you are implying with you claim the KJV is "better." But think about the implications of what you are saying. You are saying that there was no fully inspired Scripture until God independently inspired one specific English translation (which just happens to be 90% copied from the Bishops' Bible that it was written as an update to) 1600 years later. Do you really think God left his people without proper Scripture of all that time? Isn't it far more probable that He inspired the original and all translations are the work of men alone? All translations are capable of saving as it is not precise words that save, but rather ideas which are apparent in all versions.
@@ReasonedAnswers you tell me where the canon of scripture was before 1611. It did not exist in a complete volume. So that is what I'm saying. Aren't we fortunate to have God's perfect word available today? He promised to preserve his words, and the KJV is his words. No mistranslations. If only the original autographs are inspired, we have no words of God. And I will prove that wrong with scripture. Luke 4 is a good example. Jesus read scripture, but not original autographs. In Revelation 20 verse 4 the saints are beheaded for the witness of Jesus AND for the word of God. This verse is future to us right now.
Just Sayin to be fair, the Roman Catholic Church restricted the distribution of scripture for a very long time. And when it finally did allow for copies they were printed in Latin. We’re talking about an age where a majority of the population was illiterate much less bilingual. And let’s not take away the importance and validity of the Torah as the divine work of God... available way before Jesus and included in the Old Testament for the world to read. KJV 1611 was a blessing for sure, but skewed to fit the religious and political narrative of the day. Bottom line, any translation you read may have simple faults (except for heretical, copy righted bibles such as The Message) but if God’s lesson is intact and you heart is transformed that’s what truly matters. God keeps His promises. Would He force antiquated English on the populace if each of us has different levels of intellect?
@@justsayin9180 _"you tell me where the canon of scripture was before 1611. It did not exist in a complete volume. "_ Wow. There is no nice way to say this, but that is perhaps the most ignorant KJV only claim I've ever heard. The canon was established by 300 AD at the latest and is found in many, many volumes that precede the KJV, including about a dozen English bibles. Also, the original 1611 KJV included the apocrypha - do you accept those texts as scripture? _"He promised to preserve his words, and the KJV is his words."_ What is your evidence that the KJV alone is his words? _"No mistranslations. "_ What makes you think that? Also, do you speak 17th century English? (It is actually quite different than modern English - something like 500 words in the KJV have changed meaning since 1611.) _"If only the original autographs are inspired, we have no words of God"_ Magic words don't save, ideas save. The original message is preserved in all translations, not just KJV.
@@ReasonedAnswers Your last sentence is just wrong. The modern versions contain poison. Like changing "servants" to "slaves" in the NT, and telling them to obey their masters, and that causes Christians to try to defend slavery, because they read modern versions. The KJV word for slave is bondman. And the gospel issue also. And more.
I think Mike is way too focused on Catholic priest celibacy. Because Catholics believe in tradition, it's fine to believe Peter had a wife while he was with Jesus or even while he was Pope. They've decided over 2000 years that it's better for priests to have wives not and instead be married to Jesus alone. It doesn't contradict the Bible so it's fine for the Church to say to not have wives
oops... aren't you comparing apples to bananas here...? in what you call "the hyper-charismatic movement", when they sometimes state that you should not end a prayer with "if it be your will", shouldn't you mention that the "if it be your will" part was in the context of prayer for healing...? and not in the context of prayer in general...? or do you mean to tell us that they say that it is always wrong, in every kind of prayer, to add the "if it be your will" part...? never heard of such a thing...
Click here 35:36 if you just want the part that deals with the question of Jesus' secrecy in Mark.
I hope you'll take the time to hear it all but I also realize your time is valuable and you may just need that info right away.
Mike Winger thanks!
Yeah, it is good to put feet on SOLID GROUND.... :P
Mike Winger: Why do you laugh at your. own jokes? Just wondering..

Yea
Amen, sister.
Couldn't agree more.

Well said
Brother Mike, my family and I are just edified and blessed by these series.
Thank you, Mike. God bless you!

"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves." Philippians 2:3
Humbly serve others following the perfect example of Jesus.

Yes!!
Great teaching...AGAIN!

Man, I love your Mark Series. Are you going to be doing a Matthew, Luke, or John series as well?
Great teaching
Salient example why some may
view Christianity with contempt. The inability to acknowledge obvious dichotomies
profoundly disturbs the secular impression of many Christians subjective morality.

Hi mossaic. God's word says if we have the faith a grain of a mustard seed ( extremely small seed) God will honor that faith
Matthew 17:20
Yes, God did come to us first in the form of a human - Jesus.
John 3:16 (Bible)
God loves the whole world not just a select people or nation. He doesn't pretend to like some. He gave His life on the cross of Calvary for ALL so that they could be reconciled to God. Repent of our sins and turn to Him.
Yep. That sums it up

The Jews at that time believed the Messiah would be the only one to perform three type of miracle: 1 heal a leper :2 Raise the dead and 3 Give sight to one born blind , Jesus did all 3 and many of them missed it: or were in denial.
He was to be a prophet like Moses who also did those miracles.

Just a thought.

It's amazing how far Catholics will go to defend their man-made traditions.
Everyone defends dogma, including you.

Hey
Do you have an email address? I have some questions and would like to email you. Thank you.
100% agree with you!

God bless

(It is actually quite different than modern English - something like 500 words in the KJV have changed meaning since 1611.)
_"If only the original autographs are inspired, we have no words of God"_ Magic words don't save, ideas save.
