Great video yet again my guy. It's like you been reading my mind though xD My first build video has been doing pretty decent and my next video is going to be a corruption blood mage build :D
I wonder why you didn't mention Elatt's Sanctity enchantment? Can be applied to Candle Plate, Palladium or White Priest sets, and gives 40 corruption resist, as well as 15% lightning damage bonus if applied to all three pieces
I made a reddit post a while ago (pre-DE) where I discussed the use of Merton's set in high corruption areas - I called it Merton's Hazmat Suit - and, as usual on Reddit, I found very little support. Did you stumble across that post while researching about this exploit or was it a coincidence?
I learned about this quite a while ago and am pretty sure it was just from reading the wiki. But don't be down about posting it. I post on reddit every so often and either get great support or none. Someone will find it helpful regardless
This corruption is bs.. ive only started recently. I can't play because of it. I'm at 91% corruption, I can't go anywhere due to random shot from some invisible thing. I can't afford or buy more than 2 stones which only reduce by 20z% at a time. I have spent 5hrs trying to do one cabal of wind temple. The devs are idiots.
Corruption is a pretty big threat early on in the game. You don't have the resources to cure it. The ideal way to do it is clear the cabal wind temple running through the corruption zones as quickly as possible. There isn't anything in those areas anyway. Then sell in town and buy the potions from the alchemist to cure yourself. If you get really high, its rough no matter what. I would try to loot one shell horror if you can and run back to town to cure. That should give you enough silver to buy the potions.
Had that corruption shade spawn and kill me right after I killed the rust lich and before I was able to loot him. It was the first time it happened and I didn't see a shade, just the attack. I thought it was a bug, lol.
Thanks for the video! Corruption is such a stupid mechanic. Completely goes against one of the main draws of the game, exploration. Imagine punishing the player for doing something you want them to do smh
You bet! Corruption is a more lore accurate feature that anything else. It does get quite annoying at times, but kind needs to be in the game. Here are a few things that corruption adds: -Corruption builds which max out decay damage to one shot enemies sometimes -Deterrent, it prevents you from doing whatever you want in certain areas meaning you need to prepare a few potions or armor sets for those areas -Weakness, the stuff will weaken you to lightning by a lot. So it messes with gameplay and adds to the survival aspect. Corruption does suck at the start I 100% agree. Its very challenging to get rid of because you don't know what foods and potions can help you. But I do think it adds a lot to the world building. And once you get used to it it doesn't feel that bad anymore. At least for me.
@@SheenShots Appreciate the response! Me and my partner have not long started playing through the game together so when we see all these interesting looking areas with the corruption fog we just get so dejected as we've essentially been locked out of them and are unlikely to return. I understand there are ways to mitigate the effects, but it just feels unnecessary and ruins the flow of the game for early game players, feels like it would've been better placed in later game areas imo. We'll keep plodding along though, having a blast otherwise!
@@SheenShots here you go, lol Trying now to utilize speedster. And dagger skills. I use to use Shattering shot from cannon pistol, equip dagger, roll towards enemy and finish with Opportunity stub. And some hand sword to finish if it's still kicking. Now trying to use it without weapon change as it sometimes lagging and doesn't swap the weapon.
ya they should have made the soroborean caravanners carry exotic food stuffs from the antique region like milk sugar and wheat and a random other like crawl berry or purpkin products really any of the food vendors should have more variety from trade so you have more options in different regions. And also consider politics in the game so Cierzo, Berg, and Monsoon would likely have goods shared between their regions Levant would be more local only since the blue chamber is trying to starve them out.
I'm playing the DE for the first time (got round 250hrs in base game +1st dlc) and I fucken hate the corruption. Got 66% from visiting hermit and going through corrupted tombs. Couldn't find a way to bring it down, ok I deal with the high food urge. But then another time I was nearby and wanted to get the Tsar stone from the grave and now I'm above 90% (didn't find that stupid grave even), now I have terrible resistances and I'm already so weak cuz I chose a gauntlet/speedster build. I had no idea this would be so much harder than all other builds I played. But ok I can deal with that, but that stupid corruption is sucking the fun out for me. Not at all fond of definitive edition!
All I ever see are beginner guides when I look up outward, how about making a video for what to do in end game? Like how to make your own fun, interesting places to visit in the world or how to get good at fighting certain enemies? I haven’t seen anything like that on RUclips and I think it’s a wasted opportunity.
I am definitely working on some other end game videos, but in the mean time consider checking out a few of the other videos on my channel. I have at least two unique boss videos as well as a creepy end game cave encounter that was pretty fun.
Do you know where to post bug reports? I found a bug in the Sorobor expansion involving the main parallel quest. There is no Gemstone Key A slot in the Laboratory area. There are 2 Gemstone Key B stone, a Gemstone Key C and a Gemstone Key D. No idea how to report this bug outside of logging into their discord and messaging a random dev. Doubt that's the "correct" way though
I will leave a report for you in the report section of their discord so you won't need to do anything. But heading over to their discord is the best way if you are wondering.
@@SheenShots It's too bad they require you to be phone verified to post. There's plenty of us that a) don't have a mobile phone (I have a landline, for example; all I need), and/or b) don't want to link their phone number to Discord, because of all the problems that has caused people getting their accounts locked out falsely while not recognizing the phone or the number.
Just bought Both DLCs on Steam Sale and got DE with it. Bro, this mechanic makes no sense, IMO. I'm almost stopping to play the game because of it. I mean, The debuff is one thing. But this thing practically kills you with a time unless you have this item,
I can understand your frustration, so here are a few things that you might want to try: Stay out of corruption until later on when you have more materials. Head over to Harmattan straight away as it has tons of stuff to help. Grabbing the Hex skill tree really does make this stuff meaningless. You don't really need to fight anything in corruption zones so just run through them near the beginning. Nothing really different than what I mentioned in the video, but it is much more manageable than it seems at first. It is one of those mechanics that is there so you buy potions ahead of time and things like that. Don't give up mate you will get it!
Does curruption go down over time or as you rest? I just did the Purifier mission and left Dead Tree with 71%, limped back to town to sell off loot & rest then after was at 50% with no anti-curruption potions or food.
It doesn't. When the first introduced it I went in briefly to a corruption zone and have had the same 15% corruption on me for 100+ days. It doesn't go down.. you must use active measures to make it go down.
It will be the first build video I make when I start making build videos again. I have part of it done, but DE set me back a bit. Hopefully a week or two.
It is a build that gets a lot of decay damage. Good but honestly could be better in my opinion. Warrior Monk Hunter Hex Mage Horror Armor Worldedge greataxe Pretty strong in the decay department and being skilled in melee combat makes it pretty good I have to admit.

The game leaves out a lot of the things you get unless you actually delve into the defiled perks. I got a few people surprised by the red shade as well and it was pretty interesting to hear what they said after they watched this lol.
Why did you insist on fighting those illuminators with a weapon they have massive resistance to, you could have fared better with an iron weapon there.
Just for some video footage. Most of the time I will pick a set of equipment for each video and it ended up being decay against scourge which ya know isn't great.
@@SheenShots He's wrong about iron being better, though. Worldedge Greataxe is 24.5/24.5, so if they had a 40% reduction from decay that'd still be 14.7 decay damage getting through, for a total of 39.2 damage; Iron Greataxe is only 25 damage. Illuminators also only have a resistance of -40% vs. lightning; they have no decay resistance. That's only for the higher tier Scourge, it seems.
Since there are corruption zones on all maps, I miss the ingredients for potions or consumables on all maps as well. These basic ingredients like quartz and elementals are only found in Antique plateau -- or am I wrong?. A good improvement would be to have a doctor guy (???) in the cities that offers a cure for some silver or other ways of making potions, with different local ingredients, as it is with astral and life potion. Maybe the devs idea is not to eliminate corruption every time, but just to find ways to live with it and its debuff Well, it was a very useful and good editing video! The idea of using merton bones was a blow mind tip for me! I never thought enchanting it for especific situations. Nice one
So definitive edition actually added elementals to many of the caves in each region. Now it is extremely easy to craft as you can store the materials up the entire time you play rather than just staying in Harmattan for days.
You can use Mana Ward in the philosopher tree before making a blood stone to not take the initial 65 decay damage, then use a bandage.
That's great to know
Thank you for letting me know! I never even thought about using that for the cleanse!
Thanks. I only have 75hp, so I was a bit worried when he said 65 damage.
