    Wow, a mountain manufacturer going down in travel for once, usually bigger is better is one of the marketing terms they use to sell more bikes, owning a 120 rear 130 front bike myself I know how capable and fun short travel bikes are.

    Kinda funny that a 140/150 29’er is now considered “short travel.”

    • @fullpullmtb
      @fullpullmtb 9 месяцев назад +2

      Fair enough point! To me it’s short travel! Having rode mostly 160+ rears 140 feels short. It I think you are right, this is more “mid” travel. Noted! Thanks for watching

    • @benjy288
      @benjy288 9 месяцев назад +2

      I know right, that used to be an all mountain bike back in the day, and 120 used to be a trail bike, now 120 is classed as a cross country bike, but its good to see a manufacturer not using the usual more is better marketing for once.

    • @Coerced
      @Coerced 9 месяцев назад +2

      It's all due to how well suspension is managed nowadays! Far less of the downsides so it's just more beneficial in more cases to have some extra stroke

    The storage bag is hardly "included". You only get the "Organza" bag, which is actually two bags, a dry bag, and a mesh bag. Canyon says you can use them for anything you want, but they are not meant as frame storage accessories.
    I have a question though, were you able to get the full travel out of the RockShox suspension? According to Guy Kesteven, at the launch day for the 2024 Spectral CFs in the UK, he said those testing the CF 9 were not happy with the Super Deluxe damping, but he said the Float X on his CF 7 was spot on. He only had to go up just one size on the volume reducer.
    Guy even said he felt lucky he got to ride the budget model. So I'm thinking the CF 7 is a pretty good kit, and I may go for it myself. BTW, I grew up in Spokane, but I'm on the west side now. I prefer the look of Beacon to our Tiger Mt, Paradise Valley, etc, but we have Galbraith Mt and Capitol State Forest too, the latter of which has 160 mi of mtb trails, and some epic descents, especially North Slope. ruclips.net/video/kZA8Q_xTQw0/видео.html

    Can the size M fit 240mm dropper completely slammed down? The very low seat tube lenghts look like an excellent opportunity to use very long droppers even for shorter people, if the insertion depth allows it.

    Looks like a nice generational upgrade.
    Just bummed they went for a 210x55 shock instead of sticking with a 230 or 205 x60 or even 62.5, as I feel this is what makes me more comfortable on longer travel bikes, because I can set up the shock a lot better at a rather high body weight.

      @@davidacosta6510 That is definitely the hardest part. Doesn't seem like there are very many brands offering frame-only options anymore, atleast from a DTC brand. Commencal may be one of the few left outside of the "big" bike brands.

      Just have to price it right mate and be willing to sell for a little less than brand new… I bought a 2022 Canyon Spectral when they first came out and literally sold everything off the bike (except front wheel) and started from the frame… sold pretty much all of the gear within 2 weeks apart from the shifter which took about a month. I sold the forks and float for the same price that others were selling the same year models and they were snatched up and not like I sold them cheaply… I think the second hand market for parts is a bit ridiculous here (my opinion for Australia anyway)…

    • @fullpullmtb
      @fullpullmtb 9 месяцев назад +1

      I would have to say so. The 475mm reach is super comfortable for me at 6’ 1”. If you wanted a bet more room you could always bump up the stem. I think “mid” travel bikes like this are often better on the smaller side, really helps it keep its playful feel

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  9 месяцев назад +1

      Will depend on your proportions. If you're average or long-bodied, large may suit. Medium for sure if you've got long legs or prefer a more agile handling.

      Hey thanks for the feedback on the video. We're always looking for notes on ways to improve. This video was not sponsored or paid for in any way, so we'd love to know what part of the presentation came across as a commercial? As we said, always looking to approve and we pride ourselves on being honest and truthful in our product reviews.
      This being a first look on a brand new product, we felt it pertinent to share the different models and specs and what was updated compared to the outgoing bike, but perhaps we should skip all that and just focus on the riding characteristics?
      Thanks for any further feedback.

    Could this bike support a heavier rider with 140 mm travel? I’m about 230 lbs kitted and very skeptical of blowing right through that shock. The presenter is 170 lbs and using 3 volume spacers. Wish I could test one. What do you guys think?

    • @h3g98fn
      @h3g98fn 5 месяцев назад +1

      230 kitted might be a bit too much for a 140, given that canyon is relying on ramp up quite heavily with this new update. Would probably look elsewhere for a trail bike with more travel or go to an enduro bike like the torque which still climbs quite well

    I bought a Canyon Spectral CF 8.0 a couple years ago. It was missing parts. I contacted their support and they told me they wouldn't send me the missing parts. I contacted fox, and they told me to contact Canyon. Finally I wrote a Twitter post and the folks at Fox sent me the missing parts. Canyon who built the bike, lost the parts, and sold me the bike with missing parts REFUSED TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. Do not buy bikes from Canyon.
