  • “When we express our love for the earth God has given us, for the natural beauty and wonder of the earth, we’re moved spiritually to want to embrace that, nurture and protect it,” says Bishop Steven Charleston, one of the founders of Whole Creation Community, an online Facebook group, inviting all faiths to live a more eco-friendly and spiritual life. Widely recognized as a leading proponent for justice issues and for spiritual renewal in the church in both the United States and Canada, Steven has been called “one of the best preachers in the Episcopal Church,” leading worship services ranging from a revival style service in Texas to Lenten Services at Harvard University.
Bishop Charleston has served as the National Director for Native American Ministries in The Episcopal Church, the Bishop of Alaska, and President and Dean of the Episcopal Divinity School. Currently he is Visiting Professor of Native American Theology at the Saint Paul School of Theology at Oklahoma City University.
He is a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and internationally known as an advocate for the rights of indigenous people, for spiritual renewal and reconciliation, and for environmental justice. Additional information: tinyurl.com/yy...
