Do you leave your camera recording all night? Or do you get up, turn it on, and then get back in bed for the shot? That bucket oven thing is genius! You should try to get with the guys on The Modern Rogue to help them do their overnight camping challenge, lord knows they need all the help they can get.
11:40 What's that wood piece doing, that you've secretly added in between the right side ends of the bottom bunk's supports?! Never mentioned, but removed for the outro. 29:00
No, you look like a dodgy tradesman, stick the pencil in your ear then you can make a pot hanger out of it and look seriously bushcraft, 😂😂❤🇬🇧take care Shaun from the UK, ☕☕ This coffee is on me 😀👍
When I was a kid, we would go camping in the back woods with my dad, and he would always have a large slab of smoked bacon. The kind that you get from the butcher that still had the skin on one side. We would carve out square chunks, and put them on pointy sticks, roast them over a fire, and catch the drippings on a home made crusty buns my mother made. Once the bacon chunk was rendered down completely and no more fat was dripping, we popped them in our mouths and ate them, carved another piece from the slab and continued. Once the bun was covered completely in bacon fat, we sprinkled Hungarian Paprika on the drippings, and some ground pepper, then ate that too. My mouth is watering just thinking of the smoky flavored fat with Paprika and pepper on a nice crusty bun in the woods. That's living large! Glad to see that you're not one of those that pours the fat out. That fat is fast energy that will sustain you in when you are out in the woods. Now if someone is a couch potato, and eats that way, it will harm them in the long run. But if you are active and working hard, you burn all that energy away, and have nothing to worry about. That's what my father used to say to us. He would say that as long as you are working, fat does not make you fat! BTW, my father was a medical doctor in a small country town that serviced the local farming community, and who still made house calls to farmers in their homes right up till the day he passed away in a car accident in the late 1980's. That wasn't that long ago really, and even then a country Doctor making house calls was considered obsolete. His advice was good then, and stands as good advice now. Fat does not make you fat, being lazy makes you fat. Cheers from Winnipeg.
Love the crows laughing at your artery clogging joke . It even came up as laughter on the hearing impaired printout ... Great video , can't wait to see the next
Built the Bunk Bed with the Boy Scout Troop, during this past weekend's Wilderness Survival Campout, worked out great! In other words...."Outstanding!!"
Was just thinking about your "Scale it Up" comment. A triangle has three sides, so scale that build by adding one tripod to each of the four other sides, and now a campout for ten!...or just add single bunks, so on and so forth...pretty soon thers enough bunks for the whole boy scout troop! For every one tripod added, gain two bunks!
Corporal you are the king of the lash and the tripod.. you projects are the bomb man... these camp videos stick in my mind.. with an axe, saw, knife and a roll of bank line you can build a house.. just keep'm coming.. thanks J
Well Shawn, I made the bunk structure in my back yard and my granddaughter and I slept in it on March 6th here in Montana. The overnight temp was 34° had a fire in the fire ring for warmth. Thanks for the inspiration!
I've been binge watching your videos, but I don't feel bad about it because I'm constantly learning things. I appreciate what you do and I'm also glad you're "living your life". Cheers buddy
add a pencil and you look smart. add a mechanical pencil and you look like a engineer. and the ghetto rake makes it all fall into place. another great video. Semper Fi brother !
Great idea with the trash bags. They are often overlooked as survival tools. They make great raincoats, super quick emergency shelters, twisted together, they make strong cordage, …...but I never thought about a cot.
Outstanding hell of a breakfast all you need is a cup of joe. Shelter looks outstanding forget a 5 star hotel can't get better than that. Semper Fi brother
How to stay high and dry for two! Awesome idea, and executed with style. There so much more one can do with this design! Superb work, Cpl. Kelly! Thank you for posting. P.S. Breakfast looks delicious. So much to learn from you, including how one should think outside the box.

Your knot tying skills are impressive. Your videos always remind of how important it is, and how the majority of people overlook it. I'm dripping with waxed canvas, molle, KAC and LMT. I literally couldn't get beyond the first two mins of your video beacaue Idk how to properly lash a tripod. I've always carried an auger and tenon cutter to compensate. You could have 100k worth of gear, a plethora of skills and it means fuck all if you skills aren't well rounded in lashing and cordage...
Been thinking the same since the 1st time I saw him do it; only clip the corners of the bags for the poles, and then stuffing the bags just before you overlap them.
Looks delicious! My dad had a rule for outdoor cooking. Add a little pepper to everything. That way, if you see a black speck in the food, you know it’s pepper.
Bunk bed is outstanding. Even use for keeping gear off the ground and dry.BTW I use a square popcorn tin as a camp oven .That it has a flat top that can hold coles to make more even heat to cook with .
Outstanding video, Sir! What a great idea! And, just think...add some plastic painter's tarp and in extreme conditions, a great super shelter for two! Thank you so much!
"the pencil behind my ear makes it appear that I know what I'm doing" lol that one made me laugh. Anyways great video cprl, this may be the first video on RUclips about a shelter like this. Very cool. Have a great day!

Just wondering for myself any reason you start with a timber and not a clove like traditionally? Or just preference/because you can? hahaha
Nithhoggr yes because I can, but I timber hitch will “bite” into the wood and it will not slip under stress
