Do you leave your camera recording all night? Or do you get up, turn it on, and then get back in bed for the shot? That bucket oven thing is genius! You should try to get with the guys on The Modern Rogue to help them do their overnight camping challenge, lord knows they need all the help they can get.

Just wondering for myself any reason you start with a timber and not a clove like traditionally? Or just preference/because you can? hahaha

When I was a kid, we would go camping in the back woods with my dad, and he would always have a large slab of smoked bacon. The kind that you get from the butcher that still had the skin on one side. We would carve out square chunks, and put them on pointy sticks, roast them over a fire, and catch the drippings on a home made crusty buns my mother made. Once the bacon chunk was rendered down completely and no more fat was dripping, we popped them in our mouths and ate them, carved another piece from the slab and continued. Once the bun was covered completely in bacon fat, we sprinkled Hungarian Paprika on the drippings, and some ground pepper, then ate that too. My mouth is watering just thinking of the smoky flavored fat with Paprika and pepper on a nice crusty bun in the woods. That's living large! Glad to see that you're not one of those that pours the fat out. That fat is fast energy that will sustain you in when you are out in the woods. Now if someone is a couch potato, and eats that way, it will harm them in the long run. But if you are active and working hard, you burn all that energy away, and have nothing to worry about. That's what my father used to say to us. He would say that as long as you are working, fat does not make you fat! BTW, my father was a medical doctor in a small country town that serviced the local farming community, and who still made house calls to farmers in their homes right up till the day he passed away in a car accident in the late 1980's. That wasn't that long ago really, and even then a country Doctor making house calls was considered obsolete. His advice was good then, and stands as good advice now. Fat does not make you fat, being lazy makes you fat. Cheers from Winnipeg.

Was just thinking about your "Scale it Up" comment. A triangle has three sides, so scale that build by adding one tripod to each of the four other sides, and now a campout for ten!...or just add single bunks, so on and so forth...pretty soon thers enough bunks for the whole boy scout troop! For every one tripod added, gain two bunks!

I literally couldn't get beyond the first two mins of your video beacaue Idk how to properly lash a tripod. I've always carried an auger and tenon cutter to compensate. I wrap tape around my pencil, tapes often handy for pan lid tabs, marker/pointer uses, quick sealing of gaps/rips and if you use electrical tape or similar, it's flammabubbles too.
Couple of wraps is minimal bulk but a good few feet of sticky goodness that might just come in handy.

Nice! I was trying to dream up a clever way of making a bunk style bedding, so that my son and i could easily share a long fire. Your design is brilliant!
