To me it looks like junk. I just threw away a slim Smallrig cage because it flexes under load. If a cage isn't stronger than the body of the camera, then it's a toy I don't want. Thanks for the video!
@@backyardwindow agree! This one in particular will not be for big and heavy rigs. I'm using it more as a quick attach system to a number of very light accessories.
I have the Falcam f38 pd Compatible plate and it fits perfect with the mantispod. Also works with the capture, PD tripod and f38 plate for crane m3s gimbal. Can recommend it for multiple uses including ofcourse the falcam f38 system.
@@orjan37I will have to give it a try again. My F38 plate is loose on the PGY Tech Mantis Pod, but good for most other tripods with an Arca mount! Glad you are having a lot of uses for yours!
Hey there! To make the PGYTech mantis pod work with the F38 plate, use a very small width Zip-tie around the side with the pan lock knob, and then it closes that space making the plate loose. Works super well and has gotten rid of that fear of falling off!
PGYtech kindof lost me. I bought into their system and it never really advanced m. Now ulanzi is doing really creative convienient stuff with camera accessories. I still like PGYtech bags. Also their Nano quick release series is really good for random stuff, and lighting equipment. Ulanzi has me sold on this new quick release camera system. It’s to bad PGYtech fell behind so far in their product line. With PGYtech, the baseplate is fully square, and locks down into the mechanism. With ulanzi you slide on. For me it’s just easier to do consistently.
Do you mean if the half cage has an f22 bottom plate so you can mount it on an f22 mount? The halfcage has an f38 bottom plate, but have some 1/4-20" holes you can mount an f22 plate.
@@Francisfphoto_ Not directly. But the bottom plate has 1/4-20" holes and you can attach an f22 mount there, then you can slide your side handle ti the f22 mount.
@@Francisfphoto_yes you can! On the bottom it’s F38 main, F22 on half of it, and F50 on two little prongs hanging down so it can connect directly to the F22 system from the bottom with 2 positions.
What do you guys think of the Falcam Half Cage? What's your camera cage of choice? Let's discuss!

But does the bottom of the cage have the mount as well. Meaning, can you mount the camera on the F38 tripod once the cage is mounted?
Yes! The foldable half cage has an F38 mount/plate so you can slot it in easy.

is there a hdmi clamp compatible for that cage???
@@33Jmarvine there are standard 1/4-20 and 3/4 holes for HDMI clamp holders.
Will it work with Peak Design plate (arca Swiss)?
Yes it will, but's not perfect. It will have a slight wobble, so best to switch to the F38 when possible.
Good content. I dig it.
I appreciate the view, sir!
Does it have f22 on the bottom plate?
