i was dancing this part...but in hungarian version....it is strange, but the translate is really different like the original version...i like theim very much..it is a beautiful song!!!!and i like Coleen very much...she is amazing actor and her voice is clean and u can feel inside a lot of feelings...one of my favorits!!!!
It's Coleen...and yes. Anne Hathaway has a beautiful voice - but I agree not sure if she can belt it like the other Lucy's. She was going to "star" in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Woman in White" as Laura (Jill Paice did the role!); there's a clip of it on RUclips somewhere!
@DivisionOtaku I'm sorry but I completely disagree with you! They were obviously going for a different version of this song than they were in the original (hence the shorter version), and she was clearly directed to start the song with humour and mocking, and then realise the tragedy part way through, which she achieves brilliantly (just was her during the line "I am the one who must finish last?". I think she's a great actress!
there is no way Anne Hathaway would be capable of belting half the notes Lucy has to sing in this show. Her singing with Hugh Jackman I thought was O.K. not broadway worthy. I don't think Coleen Sexton was cast based on being a "pretty brunnette" and those are the only Lucy qualities I could possible attribute to Anne Hathaway. Might as well cast Kate Beckinsale and just hope she can carry a tune.
um...how about a trained singer? instead of a sub-par celebrity for the sake of selling more tickets. Idina Menzel would probably do a good job. She can belt the crazy high notes, oh and she fits the "pretty brunnette" description; what a bonus! :)
Coleen is way too awesome to not be more famous! Seriously, she's a huge part of the reason I fell in love with this show and Lucy's character.
This song doesn't require you to belt it out in good old USA fashion. This actress has a very sweet voice.

Coleen is amazing but Linda was AMAZING.
They cut this number from the tour. What the actual fuck.

Can Anne Hathaway sing? I'd rather not have the way that I feel about the performance Colleen gave.

idina menzel is not that good as you think. colleen is way better and more consistent.
Listen to Linda Eder's version... and you will hear a 'real' singer.
Kay Hawkins Linda was kinda weak at acting though. This is Broadway, it’s more than just having a nice voice it’s about bringing a character to life.
I used to hate how it starts off as a joke and light and how soon she gets serious and emotional but now I get it,
