- Canibus interviewed by (Da Fly) D-Ex on Billboard Award nominated independent video show PhatClips (1994-2001). Interview originally aired in 1998. Produced, directed & edited by Dana Christian & Dwayne Randle.
CANIBUS HAD A WEBSITE IN 1998. IT SEEMS NORMAL, BUT DID YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO HAVE A WEBSITE IN 98, YOU HAD TO KNOW YOUR COMPUTING, ALL THEM SCRIPTS AND SHIT. HE WAS WAY AHEAD OF HIS TIME!
Facts
Thumbs up if you knew Canibus before you found out he was going to battle Dizaster.
This is my greatest Lyricist of all times.. and it's not up for debate
Curriculum 101 Cover ruclips.net/video/JaStV8kyRNU/видео.html respect
one one of the greatest no doubt
Canibus is the realist mc on this planet
A endel canibus vs Nas
EM-ZiE that's real talk
Clef high as hell? Canibus the master MC!
damn he was really ahead of his time never heard a interview like this before damn...
Canibus was ahead of time
I still love the canibus man but miss this canibus!
Canibus was and is for real, thats the truth right there.
0:38 That moment there, right there, acknowledging the interviewer with some respect because he knows some "obscure" canibus' music, it shows you that Canibus is such a humble person, that he really appreciates the fact that you listen to his music. Thus, all that beef with LL happening because Canibus was on some arrogant shit is false. Even Redman in an interview in 2016 (VladTV) talking about Canibus making the verse on the track "4, 3, 2, 1" out of humility, because LL let him be on that track, has a proof in this video. He is a lyrical beast, he has proven that, however, he does not let it create a distance between him and the people who really cares about his music. Damn, that's why this man has my respect!
Woah canibus was getting big, he signed a 2 mil contract?!
I never heard of Dizaster before I heard Canibus was battling him
he has a degree in computer science so he already knew how to operate a computer

1998 was an interesting time in Hip-Hop, the 1993-1996 golden age had been and gone, and Canibus was on the road to being the poster-boy of this new era of rap, but it seems Eminem and Jay-Z, who both released breakthrough albums around the same time as Can-I-Bus, replaced Canibus as the leaders of the 1998-2001 period.
19MJsPr89 i think 2000 was the time in hip hop when the money made overshadowed the art and talent in a song. No one cared what went gold or platinum, lost as it was dope. Sales was really for the white consumers masses. That was the moment we started looking at sales and getting distracted from the art.
Eminem didn’t drop his major label Debut album til February of 1999. I remember, I was there.
Sometimes i contemplate how complex i think, then i listen to a bis track lol
Was this Nicca Wyclef slepping when they first turned to him
wyclef looked dead haha
The golden age was before 1993.
TCC nope it was from 1987-1999
Wow I never saw this it was a great interview though I do miss the old Canibus their hasn't been one mc remotely close to 97-2000 Canibus and though his rapping style has evolved he's still and willl always be sick but I'd luv to hear him get on some hot modern industry tracks and spit some of that heat he has in the archives!
What is Wyclef doing? LMAO!!!
definitely!
Pure class and brilliance, always ahead of his time
it was a god damn shame what happened there
kinda see why people dont like him. hes a great writer though
Even Canibus today is still murderous
My Nigga

@HorizonHipHop Lost Boyz - Music Makes Me High (Remix). Dope as fucking hell.

Lmfaoooooooooooooo canibus got a kufi on
That's a wave cap.
Dope!!!
Dude needed to relax just a little....but this is cool to see, it's history.
+Himaryous Canibus is arrogant that's his downfall
+David Williams Don't get arrogance confused with confidence. Especially with his lyrically skill, a phd in computer science. And he's just that good so I'm pretty dead sure he was being confident B.
TheLittleman1026 When did he get a ph d? I thought he only went to college for 2-3 years. Not that that's a gauge of intelligence, I'm just curious.
+TheLittleman1026 arrogance got him smoked by disaster.
+David Williams I see your opinion, But at the end of the battle it was all love. Even though Diz dissed him slit after the battle B.
whats that clip from after he says "i been rockin for awhile"?
@HorizonHipHop lost boyz music makes me high
How high is Wyclef is this interview?
really? Canibus is more known than Diz, lol
No notepads were pulled out during this interview.
dizaster still killed him
and cass killed dizaster and canibus can murk dizaster if he was more prepared
disaster is now on canibus track battle buddies check it out
Mc juice still killed eminem
Diz ain't alive yet...he was birthed by Canibus style lol
Notepadibus
no.
Just a dude who likes to spit and i like to listen. He gave you his heart and thats what u took from it?
He always been very lyrical but his first album didn't really do so good unfortunately as term of sales but he vary lyrical and he mastered the art of wordplay
It peaked at #2 on the Billboard charts and was certified gold (that's 500,000 albums btw) in a month. So, in other words, you're full of shit.
