Lovely church there at the start.......real nice woodland and features along the way, bit of a pull up that staircase and a bit of a surprise to see Wallabies🦘🦘........lovely views from the tops......all in all a pleasant walk Des.......ATB.......Stu....👍👍
Hi Stu. It was a nice little mornings walk, apart from a short unavoidable road section. Been meaning to get up Bosley Cloud for years, as I've seen it so often passing on the train. Those wallabies were a surprise! 😁 All the best & many thanks for watching👍
Hi Chris. This was the best route I could make from our campsite in Bosley. Nice, but it did include a section along a quiet country road. If you want avoid roads, Tramp in the Hills Steve mentioned that he did a route approaching along the Macc Canal, which might be better. All the best & thanks for watching👍😊
Now that is sure a quaint area for a wander for sure. Appreciate coming up to old rail beds converted to trails. Oh dear, that looked like a lot of stairsteps... All the ferns is just marvelous! Enjoy the rest of the week. Bruce and Otis
Hi Bruce and Otis! It was a nice and varied walk, and I think Maria enjoyed this one. Having thought about the route of that old railway line, I think a little further on it has been brought back to life as a miniature steam railway! I will have to check that out at some point 😁 Take care both of you! ATB👍😊
Good morning Des! Cheers Maria! So glad to find another of your videos. Love the old churches and cemeteries. Thanks for bringing us along for the trek.
Hi Dan! We didn't get a chance to fully explore the little church near the start, but it looked nice, so maybe next time we're in the area! Hope all is well with you! Best wishes & see you soon👍😊
Hello, Maria and Des! Nice to see you both exploring a new location! This walk was just amazing. Beautiful nature and many things to discover along the way. Lovely Church and nice views to enjoy! My biggest embrace to you both and have a great day and weekend! My huge like, dear friends and thanks for these relaxing minutes in your company! Renata
Hello Renata! It was a lovely walk, and one I've wanted to do for a long time. The views out over Cheshire are fantastic! Many thanks for watching! Hope you are having a grwat weekend too👍😊
Loved this hike with the old cillos (corn mill) and toadstool. One of my favorite features was in the beginning with the old church and the tunnel bridge.
The little church was rather nice. We didn't get a chance to around it, but maybe next time we are in the area! Many thanks for watching! Take care & see you soon👍😊
A slightly more gentle walk this week! ☺ A nice basic little campsite we found (so long as you don't mind a little road noise). Hope you're both keeping well. Still got to catch up on some of your Welsh trip!👍
Noswaith dda Des a Maria that's a lovely parish church and a beautiful place to hike. Loved the sound of sheep ! :) Lots of steps to climb and ah the peacock sound and wallabys so cute. Beautiful views from up at the top as well. A nice 6 mile walk :) ~ Anna 👍
Hi Anna. It was enjoyable walk, and those wallabies were a bit of a surprise! 😁 We'll have to see if we can look around the little church a bit more next time. I don't think it's terribly old, but it was a pretty one! Hope you are both keeping well. All the best and see you soon!👍😊
Lovely that Des (just shows how you don’t have to get real high to enjoy superb views) Had to smile about the gaiters (what a summer hey ) Thanks and best regards to Maria 🤠👍 Best regards Simon
Hi Simon. I think Maria appreciated the lack of ascent 😁 but still great views of the rain clouds gathering over Cheshire! At least in winter you can dress for the weather. This summer you never know what to bring with you! 😂 Cheers for watching and see you soon👍☺
Nice old church and a nice flat start to the walk as well. Those clouds seem to sum up the July weather this year, what's happened to summer! Nice walk but a canny few steps at the end as well as the wallaby's as well, never expected to see them. Nice views across the countryside when you got to the top and a nice white cairn too. To be honest I thought you were in for a right soaking giving the July we have had but good to see you kept dry, cheers Alan
Hi Alan. Yes, rain wasn't too bad despite the ominous clouds! Got more wet from walking through the long grass 😁 I think Maria liked this one too...great views and only a little over 300m of ascent to se them! 👍😁 All the best & catch you soon👍
Hi Rachel. It is a nice area, but a bit out on its own. It is on the Gritstone Trail though...so who knows, you might get to visit at some point! I was scouting wild camping spots, but I think you'd need to be very stealthy up there. The farm with the wallabies, did seem to have a few tents on though. All the best & cheers for watching👍😊
Hi Des, I drive on the A523 from Leek to Macclesfield daily. Never knew this little walk was there, will be sure to do it now. I'm local to Leek and there's some lovely walks around here!
Hi there. There is a layby perfectly placed for parking too (the path starts just to the left of the church). You're right, some fantastic walking up around Leek! Many thanks for watching👍👍
Hi Des, not sure I've heard of Bosley Cloud, but it looked an impressive hill. Great to see those wallabies! My friend said he used to see them years ago around the Roaches, they were quite common then apparently. Nice morning walk that Des. All the best 👍
Hi Patrick. Not a million miles from the Roaches. Bosley Cloud is sort of between Leek and Congleton, so the wallabies might be linked to the old "wild" population? It was a nice little walk, but couldn't avoid a short road section from where we were staying. Hope all is well with you! All the best and catch you soon👍🙂
Its a cracking little top...did it many years ago and remember not being able to get to the trig thanks too 4 kids with bikes propped against it...i remember a fair part of the walk being alongside the Macc canal.
Yes, been meaning to do it for years. I used to gaze longingly at it from the London train 😂 Our camp site was more on the Leek side, so we didn't approach along the canal. Cheers for watching & catch you soon👍
It's surprising what you can get out of a short walk des. Wallabies and fantastic views. A nice cool walk to it looked. What a July we've been having. Take care both. Mark
Hi Mark. Only a short walk, but a hill I've wanted to climb for a long while (partly to scout out possible camping spots, as it's on the Gritstone Trail). The wallabies were definitely more of a surprise than the weather! 😁 It's been lousy hasn't it? Cheers for watching and catch you soon👍
@@DesGreene That's great climbing a hill you've passed by many times. Curiosity now fulfilled des. I trust you spotted one or two pitches - ha with passing Wallabies. Yeah, what a season eh? Take care.
Looks good up there Des. I have a feeling I can see BC from my local hills. So, what weight was your best chub then? I was a keen stillwater angler in my teens. I always wanted to get into fishing in rivers, for chub, barbel, grayling, etc. No scope for that in Rochdale when you're a lad. 😄. Bye for now, Chris
Hi Chris. My lical rivers were more or less sewers when I was a lad. When I started working, a southern guy that I became great mates with nagged me about river fishing and we ended up going on the Dane.. 4.5lb was my best ever chub, but that mate Eric always caught more than me! 😁

Danke sehr, Siggi & Marianne! Die besten Wünsche euch beiden! Bis bald👍😊
I took a short up for this on the Ethels, but on the 88, I'm definitely taking a longer meander. Thanks for sharing, Des.

Hi David. It's a walk I've been meaning to do for years, and then I noticed a new pub camp site had opened nearby...so how could I resist? 😁
Wow super nice it's beautiful view in there my friend lovely sharing love to watch have a wonderful day always💞💞💞💞💞💞
