Great flooring, especially in the cabin. If the chain plate leak come back, you will need to take it off ( after properly support the mast if required ), clean everything and rebeed it. It may be a good idea to do it even if it does not leak, since rusty chain plate are somewhat a warning that it does need attention. As you find out, leak are not only a nuisance, they can cause damage to the wooden parts. Keep posting and thanks for switching to landscape mode ( instead of smart phone portrait ).
Oh my gosh, we cannot remember and we've sold this boat since this video was made. Do you belong to the Catalina 22 facebook group? You may want to put the question in there and I am sure you will get a response. Cheers ~
Please let me know what the source of the water is inside, I have a similar leak in my Catalina 22’ I’m trying to find the source of I believe it’s the keel bolts sadly
I don't know how I missed this comment and I apologize. The leak came from a bolt that attaches the pop top to the main hull. Donovan put some weird white tape around the screw that is made for plumbers to use when they connect pipes so water doesn't go through the little grooves where they screw into each other. I think he also may have used some caulking, but I know he was trying to avoid putting anything on that would make it difficult to take the screw out if we ever need to. Hope this helps!
Do you intentionally call things by the cutely incorrect terms? Some boats have silicon sealant or caulk, bilge pumps, and cockpit drains or scuppers, others have white goopy stuff, water suckers and leak things. :)
Sometimes it’s intentional and sometimes it’s not. My husband’s used to my weird language. English is my second language, so I sometimes make up words.
@@Nitedawg1 I grew up in Mexico City with European parents who spoke a perfect mix of Spanish and French. (While studying in an American private primary/secondary school.) So my first language was francospanglish. If that makes any sense... ;)
@@Nitedawg1 I know. I get that a lot. When I lived in France, people thought I was Canadian. When I lived in Washington state, they thought I was from east coast. Then moved to chicago for 8 years and got Midwest accent, then northern Louisiana and got that accent. My ears hear and accent and it somehow incorporates itself into my accent after a few years. In Mexico, people also think I’m Canadian.... it’s weird. I never ever sound like from where I am currently living.

@@sailingokaliptusYou are welcome, keep sailing.
Learning so much from you guys
That makes us very happy! That's why we enjoy making these videos. We learn from others and hope to help others in return. Cheers.
Say , what size pipe is the manual bilge handle you use to operate the bilge pump? diameter that is.

Thanks! It really is very comfy and looks great!
Don't own a boat and never will, but learned from all boating vids, alot $$$ for repairs, 100 times worse than a house ! lmao

@@sailingokaliptus First off, you all are adorable. Second if English is your second what is your first. (see what I did there)

@@sailingokaliptus That is odd because I am usually very good at picking up on accents and I hear nothing with you but middle north american english
