Dude, that is a f**king brilliant idea!!!! To muddy the waters a little bit, would you sub John Frusciante for Buckethead on Side B of the vinyl? Asking for a fanboy...
I saw Primus with Herb a few days before his heart attack. Im a drummer and huge Tim Alexander and Danny Carey fan. I'm impressed with Carey's performance!! He stayed in the pocket and stayed away from a lot of the little "extras" Herb throws in, but thats a great lesson for drummers to learn from. Stay in the pocket and keep a great groove!! He learned 16 songs in one day and did a great job filling in. I def prefer Herb with Primus, but Carey is still a god and I'm stoked that this happened!!! Thank YOU for posting!!!
Lol 'legendary' drummer. Thomas Hakke and Mike Portnoy have more talent in their pinky toes than him, just cause he is in Tool in no way makes him legendary.
@@mikehawkisb1g All the drummers have their own Niche. Their rock band, and that's what gave the band it's style and sound. Try taking Mike Portnoy and putting him in the big band area with Buddy Rich. Buddy Rich would greatly out perform Mikey. Likewise, if you reversed the roles.
lol you got it fucked up, you see, danny carey invokes spirits before he performs. on the drums, he isn't even entirely human, these are his own words, and you can verify this with the names of the spirits on his drum set, the enochian magic boards he uses at every concert, and the set up of his drum set (they are set up to resemble the new Jerusalem) coupled with the rituals he does before each performance. as you probably already know, DC is heavily involved with the occult. The occult is part of the reason why he was literally perfect on the drums in his earlier years. The DC of the 90's wasn't only the greatest drummer of all time, but possibly the greatest musician in history...
+rastabg23 Why the DC of 00's is not the best too? I mean, AEnima is my favorite album of all time but his work on Lateralus and 10,000 days is more incredible than the 90's albums.
Quite interesting: The first time I ever heard Primus a coworker let me borrow his Pork Soda CD... and for some reason he gave it to me in the AEnima jewel case.
The reason why Danny's playing with them is cuz this is when Tim had his first heart attack that's why they're showing Tim's faces in the astronaut masks. they kind of dedicated this show to him cuz I remember the last remaining shows on the west coast they had Danny play because Tim had a heart attack and Tim actually had another heart attack in 2016 I think about six months to a year before they started the chocolate factory tour. but he had some kind of procedure done that corrected all this and he's been good ever since is Tim was amazing on the chocolate factory tour but even better on desaturating seven. My two favorite drummers of all time Tim Alexander and Danny Carey the greatest drummers of the 90s.
i was kinda shocked to see Ringo in your lineup, but i have to kinda agree. Ringo was a human metronome. his timing was impeccable. his fills, punches and accents were not flashy but ALWAYS RIGHT ON the money to accentuate the music. he played in an era when drummers weren't technical or flashy and didn't stand out much. not considered to be part of the music. just the guy in the background keeping the beat. so yeah! I'm gonna have to agree with you. i think Ringo was an EXCELLENT DRUMMER for his time and deserves to be on that list!!
I love it when you see bands helping out bands like this. Dave Lombardo sitting in for Lars and playing Battery and then 4 horseman was another amazing example of this.
I love how your reaction to this song is mind blown and speechless. 🤣 I do have respect for you on how you can appreciate the talent of all three band members. Most people don't take in what is going on with all three instruments.
Met Justin Chancellor at this show. He was just hanging out in front of the soundboard jammin. Nobody had any idea, and there were soooooo many Tool shirts. LOL.
it seems to me Danny try to mix his own "groove" with herb's on this one. I'm not sure what to think of it. but I'm so glad and happy to see these guys together. is like a crossover between Van Eyck and bosh!
Okay, I've got most of my dream-team band set up: Danny Carey on drums, Les Claypool on bass, David Gilmour and Devin Townshend on guitars. All I need is a singer. Any suggestions?
Maybe no suggestions on the singer, but: Neil Peart on drums, Alex Lifeson on guit-fiddle, and Geddy Lee on bass/vocals would be a "dream-team" band set up - oh wait....; I do like where you are going with your dream though :) (sorry man, I couldn't "Resist"....)
HardBoiledGregg As long as he's not writing the music himself. I don't care who you have as band members if it sounds like his first solo album. God, I never thought I would hear metal pop music, but somehow he managed it. :P

indeed
Les Claypool and Danny Carey should start a power trio with Buckethead as the guitarist. I guarantee they’d be the fastest band in the world.
And Mike Patton singing.
