Ray, I looked for your analysis and Picks yesterday on the Belmont Stakes. I choose my picks yesterday with all the hype on Hot Rod Charlie I knew he was going to be in the exacta, if not the winner but the 2nd place finisher. And then with Rombauer 3/1 I figured it out he would be the 3rd place finisher. I know a long-shot was expected and their were first 3 horses trained by Todd Pletcher. I chose the shorter odds of Known Agenda to come in fourth place. A small odds Known Agenda and Bouronic long shot. my picks 2,4.with 3,4, with 3, 6, 6,1. I felt good 10 minutes before the race thats when I bet Essential's odds 9-5 odds. I had a fun day figuring out the winner AND THE BOARD HITTERS. Awesome 'Belmonts Stakes !

I know this sounds crazy lol. U could say I have a gift from God. I don't want to risk that but tho I ADORE E.Q. and it makes sense he should win and I truly hope he does....
But the first time I heard Medinas Spirit I knew he would win. I cried my heart out! E.Q. did win when it came to distance and speed. I want nothing more than to have another son of Tapit win Belmont. That same voice that I heard for Medinas Spirit gave me Known Adgenda. I hope I'm wrong but I made some bank on Medinas Spirit. This started with Always Dreaming and I'm over 75% picking winners since he won the Kentucky Derby. So that is my Gift to you. But I really hope I'm wrong! In Preakness I got no name and the winner was a horse who's name I never heard. Good Luck regardless! I like you Weekend Handcapper! Love your enthusiasm! I can tell you love doing this!!!

That's WHY WE NEED ENTHUSIASTIC PPL LIKE YOU! 👍 I looked up Tapit and Curlin. I thought Tapit did win Belmont and Curlin did not...I was WRONG! NEITHER OF THEM WON BELMONT. last years Belmont doesn't count in my book. Due to purchase of colts born Jan through March are older, .more experienced than say TAP IT TO WIN, it killed me to see him on the rail setting pace much younger than Tiz. They called Tiz The Law a "Man in a field of boy's ", Well...he was! I scratch all of last year.

On Belmont Stakes just be sure to have fun and the best horses that you won't regret not betting on. That whole Fear of Missing Out thing. (FOMO) No worse feeling than missing out on having a winning horse and making money on a horse that you like but didn't bet it.

I agree. I'm betting a small superfecta with #8 as the winner. Pletcher said early on that, that was his Belmont horse. Essential Quality looks best.

Cool video. But I think Hot Rod Charlie is coming into this race as my favorite. I see him as on or near the lead, with Prat having him in a great position for the run to the wire. The distance is not an issue and the jockey is unquestionably the best in the country. Go Hot Rod!

@@Weekendhandicapper Thanks. Hot Rod Charlie almost got there, there was no way he could get away from Rock Your World to slow down the pace just a little. I think. 22 was a little fast for the Qtr but .46 was ok.
I'm so proud of him, and he doesn't even have Grade 1 yet.

Did some DD on distance and pedigree. It is revealed that Known Agenda 6 (Curlin Sire) was a strong Grade 1 winner of 1 1/8. It also mentioned that Overtook 8 (Curlin Son) was built for distance and stamina. Both Pletcher horses too. What say you on this angle? Is Distance a sucker's way to look vs speed? 6-8 Exacta Box Thanks...
In the case of the Belmont most of these horses will only run this distance once in their racing careers and that is in the Belmont Stakes. I think pedigree in terms of getting the distance is certainly a potent angle. Maybe that is why many longshot horses have won the Belmont. Another thing about your horses is that they are both trained b Todd Pletcher and that is another positive factor in their favor. Since you brought up pedigree and speed angles. The 2 has both. I know he will be the favorite but maybe consider including him in with your nice price horses of the 6 and 8. Best of luck this afternoon Jeff!

I never buy "bad trips", horses make their trip based on speed. Based on the first two legs, I'm taking the fastest nice pedigree over 12/1. I'm not buying EQ, HRC, RYW, or Rombauer at those prices.

It's not the big problem with betting low odds who are favorites. Knowing the board hitters and not being afraid to bet $100.00 on a straight trifecta on a $7.00 payment. Winnings rule $7.00 times $100.00 = $700.00. Not being afraid to bet like like this makes you a winner.

The Belmont track odds this year have been terrible. Belmont Racing has to do something about these unfair low odds and pitiful payoffs.

Didnt have EQ. In derby for win. Wont have him win belmont. Must play for second in exacta. His derby kick down stretch nothing special. Ryw gets lead. Dont see anybody down stretch catching him with his extended long stride. He should Rock their world.

I disagree with that. Makes no sense. That is like buying a car that is undervalued. Why would anyone do that? Would you buy a car for $10,000 if it is only worth $2,000 just because it still starts and runs and gets you from point A to B? Or would you rather buy a car worth $10,000 but being sold at $2,000? I am all about betting horses that offer value and not just picking winners of races no matter their prices. If you can pick horses at a high win % then more power to you. You would have to with all these short prices out there these days. I would much rather not even bet the race and wait for a horse that gives me more return.
Nothing will match that Ketucky Derby race this year. It was right down to the end. Great Race no matter the controversy

EQ and Known Agenda let me down in the Derby. I am a forgiving person. Plan on sticking with them for the Belmont. I should just ask my wife for winner. Once Mandaloun gets put up for the Derby, she will have the last two Derby winners. Lol.
The real looser in the Derby is Medinas Spirit. I mean this horse has been in training from 1 week old when he is taken from his mare and given another step mom to nurse him. He did as much as is required of race horses. Just like the other horse's in the Kentucky Derby. He didn't ask for that injection. All that work for NOTHING! SO UNFAIR TO MEDINAS SPIRIT. All of the Derby horses, unfair but it's not trainer who really pays the price, it's the horse!
Exactly right. Good point Kelly. That is a major criticism of horse racing. The animals has no say in what goes on. The horses are at the mercy of the owners and trainers. Greed and competition makes people do bad things.
